I saw someone on Tumblr using this as a justification for Zutara (saying that Aang should have learned this lesson).

/R9k/ would have a field day with this

Would a disney Les Miserables be good?

Hey, they already butchered Into the Woods, so I doubt it.

Imagine Disney making a Ninety-Three animated movie.

The moral was that no matter how nice you are on the inside, ugly people can never be happy.

Mind rape is perfectly fine, as long as everyone prefers the new version over what they originally were.

then did rent

>Quasimodo put Esmeralda up on a pedestal just because she was nice to him, and had too many personal issues of his own to function in a healthy relationship, deformed ugliness aside
>Frollo was a sexually stunted lunatic who perceived Esmeralda as nothing but an object to either lust over or exterminate, and also was a decrepit old bigot who wanted to purge her race
>Phoebus, despite being a handsome chad, could actually treat her like a human being and an equal despite their class and racial differences
That was pretty much the gist of their message. It's not even just about being ugly; it's being emotionally dysfunctional from an unbelievably lousy childhood that made Quasi pretty much undesirable inside and out. Even if he was even a 6/10 or higher, he still wouldn't have gotten the girl if he was still up against Phoebus. And even if Frollo was 10/10 and in his prime, yeah, no fucking way Esmeralda would ever be interested in Church/pol/-Incarnate.

But that's what you fucking get for adapting a Victor Hugo novel of all things into a Disney film. Literally what else could you expect but a downer, bittersweet ending at best?

Hilarious since in the original Phoebus wanted to pump and dump Esmeralda.

Disney adaptations do sometimes have a morbid sense of humor when it comes to adapting characters and relationships to be more 'child friendly', like Meg and Hercules.

And Hera and Zeus being happily married.

>Phoebus, despite being a handsome chad, could actually treat her like a human being and an equal despite their class and racial differences
It's not like they had all in all that much interaction to say they go beyond the paramters of physical attraction and gratefulnes.

It's still absolutely fucked what they did there

Mindbreak the fox and then pair them up with the obese pig
True hell.

Idk I thought the Into The Woods movie was pretty great.
Granted I've never seen the play so I can't compare it to much, but still very enjoyable.

Who the fuck is that Porcupine? is Chicken Little in the same universe as SING or something? This is like the old VHS tape box for Rumble in the Bronx where Jackie Chan is hanging from a helicopter....theres no fucking helicopter scene in fucking Rumble in the Bronx

>all of this
Hello Darkness, my old friend....

Holy shit I never noticed that
>They put a no-name porcupine character on the front cover who's only spoken word throughout the whole movie is "yo", but not the fucking ugly duckling character who's pretty much the deuteragonist

This movie is like the cancer that just keeps on giving

Porcupine was the big meme character when the movie came out. Same thing happened with the dinosaur and goth girl in Meet the Robinsons.

What's the message of the second movie?

In the days of Michael Eisner, artistic integrity means nothing if a few extra bucks can be earned with a lazy cash grab sequel.

No, they just can't get laid. So they have to find happiness by themselves.

>goth girl in Meet the Robinsons
Who?

>Aesop are for queers

We are best friends, but let's forget everything and act as we don't know each other for the rest of our lives because reasons...

Porcupine was the character that they shoehorned into everything to try and make the movie seem hip and cool despite him barely actually being in the movie himself.

Im a Zutarafag but thats a shit reason to want Zutara

the more you watch classic stuff the more realize that ugliness was a real problem back in the day, not saying the don't exist now but I guess there just more things uglys can do these days and actually be happy.

Emperors new groove?

Also Kronk's new groove

What if Phoebus was 2/10 tho?

Maybe If women wasn't so fucking shallow.

I do hope if they keep doing live action remakes, they get to Hunchback eventually.
A movie adaptation of the stage play would be amazing
youtu.be/lKZbtLxxPfg

Changes include
>New songs that are good
>Gargoyles get changed from 3 comic relief characters to more of a greek chorus type deal
>Frollo is closer to being his antivillain self from the book (though hes still definitely a villain) and also archdeacon again instead of being a judge
>Esmeralda dies of smoke inhalation at the end
>Frollo tries to comfort Quasimodo, but he fuckin chucks Frollo off Notre Dame

I'd rather see Disney tackle on The Count of Monte Cristo.
That book was awesome, one of the best I've ever read.

That's a good argument, especially taking in consideration Katara wasn't interested on Aang in that way for most of the show.

Moral is give up, never pursue your interests, it's up the a woman 100% of the time to initiate relationships. This means be the best you can be for presentation, and compete against other men for their attention.

The one with the fire ants at the science fair that made it onto the poster.

I've also only seen the movie and also quiet enjoyed it.
But I've pretty universally heard that the film is a weak adaptation of the theater version and that it fails to do anything interesting with the transition to film to compensate.

DESU the movie kinda sucks compared to the play. I wanted to like it but they kinda ruined the themes for it.

For one thing they should have made it a pg13 movie. The play isn't a pg play.

They removed a lot of the more adult aspects of the play from the movie, like Rapunzel dying, the marital issues between the Baker and his wife, how even after getting their "happily ever after" the main characters weren't as happy as they thought they would be (this was mostly a consquence of making the giantess appear at Cinderella's wedding instead of months afterward.)

Also in the play the wife got crushed by a tree knocked down by the giant instead of accidentally falling off a cliff

And I can't forgive them for removing the Baker's duet with his dad. Thats basically his emotional climax of the play. youtube.com/watch?v=h15HP_W4yrg
I admit the themes of the song may have been confusing to children, but its still one of the best songs of the show.

So yeah, it was a pretty weak adaptation.

If you wanna see why people say the movie is a weak adaptation, watch this.
youtube.com/watch?v=kqCsQCsinK4

Its a recording of the original cast.

It also helps that many of the songs are monologues in song form. That may work well on a stage, but in a movie, its pretty hard to make that visually interesting.

I'll check it out.

Cringe.

Moral is removes rights and kill all women.

Also they removed the Narrator completely, which even though I sorta understand, is honestly unforgivable.

>this movie glorified the image of Gypsies by making everyone think they're all qt brown girls

>and also was a decrepit old bigot who wanted to purge her race
Frollo was right.

> So what if someone murdered your father
> they were under the influence when they did it
> even though they later showed said influence could easily be overcome by willpower
> He just didnt care enough to stop himself from murdering your pa
> He's still your friend though and you should totally forgive him cause now you're the chief !

She wanted a normal life without being burdened by her powers or had amnesia.

I haven't seen this thing since its release and I forget everything but R.E.M
spoonfeed me, please

She wasn't into him. What was he supposed to do, rape Esmeralda?

Quasi wanted acceptance and freedom from his tower. Esmeralda represented that. That's why Quasi loved her. Ultimately he got real freedom and real acceptance of the city at large.

And in the end, he still saved the day, even though he knew he wouldn't be rewarded with puss afterward. That makes him much more of a hero. He did the right thing because it's the right thing, not because he would've gotten a reward.

Didn't the father literally say at one point that he doesn't want his son to exist?
This movie was all kind of fucked up

>Dad please believe me
>No
ONNNEEEE LITTTLLEEEE SLIIIPPPPPP

You don't understand. What's the point of doing anything if you don't get to smash puss. Quasi did all that shit and he didn't get to smash. How can anyone call it fair. Fucking gypsy slut whore bitch REEEEEEEEEEEEE

He revealed he's a guy, after that I dropped all communication.

yes with the invention of internet porn and progressive types rallying for "body positive" thought ugly people really have it easier than ever before

Hey Sup Forums, your cartoon fantasies aren't reality.
Ugliness is much MORE of a problem now, for men only of course. (It was never a real problem for women.)
This.
There's no "body positivity" for men.

One man's nightmare fuel is another's fetish fuel.

*Unzips*

Chicken Little is the town outcast and the school loser, has only three friends who are loser just like him. His dad only starts to show support for him after he helps win the big game, aliens appear and Chicken tries to warn everyone but no one, not even his dad believe him. Chicken and his friends try to save the day as the aliens attack and his father learns to stop being a dick and go help his son. Turns out the aliens were only attacking because one family lost their child and are quite civil (which begs the question WHY they didn't ask for help in the search), Chicken becomes the town hero and his pig friend gets the mind fucked bully turned sweet girly girl as a girlfriend, which raises all sorts of questions.

LOLIPOP
LOLIPOP
OH, LOLI, LOLI, LOLI

She had a gigantic mouth. That still sticks with me. Imagine how many fat alien tentadicks could fit in there.

IT WAS A FUSION OF CONFUSION
AND A FEW CONFOUNDING THINGS

>accept your sexual inferiority and don't go around being bitter about not getting the girl

Look at it this way.

If you're going to be forever alone no matter what you do, you have the option, as I see it, of begrudging other people, or not.

If you begrudge other people, it will not make you feel better. It never does. It makes you angry, and angry isn't a way to live. Case in point, tumblr. They constantly live with a chip on their shoulder of all things white, male and heterosexual and are miserable because of it because they see it everywhere.

The second option is to understand that there's likely nothing you can do about it. No amount of bitterness will change it. But trying to accept it and come to terms with it might change how you feel and help you feel better about it. You don't have to hate other people for it, and it may just make you feel a little less miserable.

But that's just how I see it.
