>went to see Star Wars >go veganism and marxism shoved down my throat >get a lecture on toxic masculinity by purple hair strong lesbian woman >dude family and tradition don't matter lmao, just b urself >luke is a pedophile uncle who gets humiliated the entire movie, Ray is a marry sue
I mean...fuck. Now I understand why the twitter soytellectual class loves this movie so much and Sup Forums hates it. I mean its well made but none of this shit is Star Wars, seems like the directors personal modern views
Kayden Murphy
>letting women be in charge
Thats what happens.
Adam Thompson
What did you cry baby pussies expect? 'alt-right wars: make the galaxy great again'? Star Wars was always opposed to fascism, nazism, white supremacy and had liberal values like strong females Get over it. Star Wars will never belong to the conservicucks You will never understand it, not even the OT. Just fuck off
Leo Moore
Well said
Dominic Rivera
>Star Wars was always opposed to fascism, nazism, white supremacy and had liberal values like strong females Nope. It was about adventure and becoming the best man you can be. It's about self-fulfillment and masculinity at it's core which is why women will never understand it.
Jonathan Powell
Are you sure you understand Star Wars?
It was never about veganism and marxism or the downthrotten. It was about family, tradition, heroes jouney.
. No it was never about the poor and downthrotten. The rebellion aren't pink haired dykes fighting Drumpf in evening dresses, the rebellion were alliance of planets, they had their own millitary tradition uniforms and army
Michael Fisher
>opposition to nazi and white supremacist values First, these values don't exist. You've destroyed them, you've won, so just be happy. Second, you're talking about star trek, not star wars. Only star trek had liberal bullshit throughout its entire run.
Joseph Harris
Lucas himself is a liberal, Star Wars will always promote liberal values No it fucking wasn't, it was about spirituality and taking down fascists you r-tard
Ethan Garcia
The OT had actual universal values, based on mythology, traditions that are de facto opposed to lefty nihilism and (((deconstruction))) we can see in the terrible TLJ. While Leia was already a subversion of the classical princess in distress, she was still a WOMAN, seduced by super macho Solo (compare that to the inhumane thing that is Ray and all the other "female" characters).
Terrible Disney wars has become all about muh oppressed, that is to say your usual neo-marxist racial and sexual wars.
Justin Bennett
>it was about spirituality and taking down fascists you r-tard But leftists hate spirituality. Also it barely had anything to do with real fascism. They just used fascists as the villains because in the modern mythos fascism is the source of evil. They borrowed it without really caring much about delving into it, they just took it as a symbol of evil.
Jack Jones
>Lucas himself is a liberal
Liberal meant something completely different when Star Wars was made. The prequel trilogy was essentially about how the goverment bigger, more and more centralized until it was taken over by one man. There are absolutely zero modern liberal values in the prqeuels and less so in the sequels.
This shot was the ultimate triumpf, and you would essentially scream facism if you saw it in any other movie
Elijah Reed
It has never been against "white supremacy" in any specific manner. It never felt the need to address that specifically. It was very strongly against fascism.
That being said the core of the Star Wars story has always been incredibly personal, not political. Politics usually served as a plot device, a backdrop, or as a tool to explore the effects of personal responsibility. This may sound familiar because it is the basis of almost every story about the hero's journey. To have The Last Jedi be almost entirely about politics is a grave misunderstanding of the franchise.
Elijah Reed
>It was very strongly against fascism. I wouldn't even go that far. It is definitely against dictatorship and uses fascist imagery to portray that but nothing in it couldn't also be applied to any dictatorship including a communist dictatorship. It's really about good vs evil and specifically tyranny.
Noah Nelson
>anything organized of military is fascist >liberals dont have armies and are pure anarchy oh my god. the level of right wing retardation has reached epic fucking proportions. epic. youre memeing yourselves into clinical mass delusion. its the sjw effect.
Liam Peterson
Maybe a competent story with out glaring plot hole that actually feel like a continuation of the previous film?
Josiah Morgan
Damn I heard this movie was compromised but I had no fucking idea how badly it was going to shovel its shit down my throat when I went into the theatre hollywood just can't help themselves can they
every single fucking movie I've seen in theatres this past year has had at least one woman giving a 'muh feminism' speech directly into a camera and insulting trump by proxy
Juan Carter
Why are they afraid to show it then? Because in these new movies you only see the empire do stuff like this.
The rebels were a rag tag group of disorganized cunts, their own leader isn't even wearing a uniform
Matthew Campbell
>dude rich people bad lmao >muh poor animals >womyn in charge >don’t be a hero, das bad mkay >everyone is a mutt just like real life xD
I thought I was just paranoid before going into the movie, but it far, far exceeded my expectations.
Benjamin Howard
>veganism One of the first things we see Luke do is drink milk so not sure if this tracks.
Christian Howard
I think the storywriters subtly subverted what the SJW leads wanted they let their wimin take the leads and give the big speeches
but then if you actually pay attention to the plot: >woman comes up with plan >plan gets 3/4 of all the rebel force killed >another woman comes up with a plan >plan gets 3/4 of the remaining rebel force killed >woman comes up with yet another plan >rebel force is massacred and reduced to like 20 survivors total
they put everyone on shuttles and then the empire just promptly blew up all the shuttles they spent 13 hours flying away under siege and then FINALLY do a ramming attack to buy time to escape only after everyone is already dead
Oliver Fisher
The absolute state of the United Sharts of Amerilard. Enjoy the 1984 tier propaganda.
Dylan Miller
Oh fuck. Don't tell me there's a scene in The Last Jedi exactly like the chick speech in Rogue One.
Cooper Reyes
What? The plan that wiped out their bombing fleet was from Poe, and the plan to abandon ship from Holdo would have worked except the codebreaker that was part of Poe's counter plan sold them out.
Connor Perry
her plan only failed because Poe's mutinity betrayed them.
I know what happens in the movie but watch what happens carefully. Poe is portrayed as irrational and idiotic. She's portrayed as calm and forgives him for his idiocy, almost motherly then dies the most epic death in the series.
Jacob Parker
>I mean its well made it's well shot. It is not well made at all.
Gabriel Russell
The cinematography is beautiful, except Canto Blight which had too much obvious CGI.
But the editing was really messy and the script was abysmal when it came to keeping continuity with the previous movie or Star Wars in general.
Wyatt Murphy
>tfw a straight white male says anything.
Charles Allen
worse than Rogue One
Josiah King
>But the editing was really messy How was it messy? If anything it did a good job at cutting between all the different action, and the match cuts between Rey and Kylo were great.
Logan Perez
it kept cutting way too much at really akward and ruined any tension we might have gotten from the chase scene.
and it used transitions but they were sped up, so it didn't really look like a transition, it was really akward
Jason Perry
the plan with the codebreaker was fucking stupid why couldn't they just ram one of their support ships at lightspeed into the lead star destroyer to disable its tracking, then time this simultaneously with a jump to light speed with the other ships?
Aaron Adams
The dreadnaught would have destroyed Leia's ship if Poe didn't destroy the dreadnaught. He saved everyone but he was still demoted for disobeying orders.
Connor Thompson
far, far, far worse. I don't think you can really grasp it until you see it that women in purple hair gives about 5 speeches about how we must #Resist and women are in it together and how men are too hotheaded and violent then it goes full fucking retard and they travel to a planet of rich white people who are laughing and gambling in a casino sipping fancy wines and complaining about people parking on their private beaches, and the rich white people have dickensian pauper child slaves propping up their class, and the women talk about how they want to punch the entire society for being injust in its wealth inequality, and then they all return to the mothership and this entire 30 minute long section of the movie takes place somehow during a single battle as an interlude as they travel from the battle to that planet and back again and I just spoiled absolutely nothing from the plot because nothing in that entire sequence serves any purpose in advancing the plot its pure SJW agenda pushing and thats in ADDITION to the speeches about feminism
Andrew Phillips
>The dreadnaught would have destroyed Leia's ship if Poe didn't destroy the dreadnaught. You can only say that with hindsight, they didn't know they could be tracked through hyperspace, sticking around for Poe's attack is what gave the First Order a chance to target the cruiser.
Angel Lee
The transports were still loading. They weren't ready to go to hyperspace, and the dreadnaught was firing up a huge laser that would wreck the main ship.
Poe saved everyone, that is why Leia was so relieved
Ian Kelly
>giant autocannons with plot timer before they can fire >need to complete bombing run or everyone dies female plan would have killed everyone at the start without poe's intervention
Oliver Campbell
I don't thin Rian is that good of a director but he has neat ideas for original and interesting visuals. Can't really explain it but a lot of the shots in this movie felt so off.Not the big shots necessarily, but the ordinary shots that make 90% of the movie
Liam Rivera
I think there's actually a good amount of material in this movie for someone to make a redeeming fan edit like they did with the prequels for example take out the entirety of canto blight
Michael Cox
>But leftists hate spirituality You are beyond retarded. It's not like all the hipsters are doing yoga these days. Oh and like bhudism. Right. Typical right and conservative beliefs since the 60s.
Fuck off moron
Aiden Watson
Not possible
Justin Cruz
>liberals doing yoga for spiritual reasons >liberals caring about Buddhism as anything but a strawman religion of peaceful adherants
Not the same user and not even a conservative, but you sound like you don't understand how superficial the fascination with yoga etc is.
Mason Torres
I think I got how to make a good 90 minute movie.
Cut out admiral problem glasses. Cut out canto blight. Luke actually causes the ships to collapse on that medidating table and all the effort kill him. You can cut out the final act on the salt planet entirely, no one got any development. Kylo actually loses development because he reverts to being a generic bad guy
Austin Sanders
>Anakin Skywalker was conceived by "the force" >Prophesized "chosen one" >Whenever Jedi Die they leave their clothes behind (popular interpretation of the rapture) >Single act of giving into temptation can lead to the dark side
You're right, I see nothing spiritual here
Hudson Phillips
>'alt-right wars: make the galaxy great again'? kekking my life away
Isaiah Hall
A character complains about rich people profiting by selling arms to both sides in a war, as well as complaining about those people being cruel to animals she used to tend to as a kid.
Another plotline involves Poe, an impulsive hotshot male pilot, distrusting a skinny white lady with purple hair, who turns out to be okay in the end.
Jonathan King
Anyone else think Rey and Kylo Ren are adorable as a couple? ''you're not nothing to me''
Ian Baker
>family, tradition
I know, user. My family holds SW in such high regard that my father chokes my mom every Christmas, and I cut his hand off on easter, and my gramps throws him down a shaft. Every. Year.
Adrian Powell
Shit was getting romantic, she even risked her life and came to the first orders ship just to see him and try to turn him but after their little fight he went full Eliot rodgers ''shoot that fucking roastie REEEEE''
Dylan Thompson
>romantic
bro it was fucking Naruto and Sasuke
Aiden Johnson
So insecure sees marxism, veganism and liberal agenda everywhere :D
Abused much or just insecure?
Angel King
shit was fucking cringe >ramantic >falling in love this guy straight up murders han in front of her eyes, mind rapes her, tries to kill her. >disney in charge of empowering women yeah fall in love with the guy that beats you and has violent outburts
Asher Thompson
Did you really watch star wars to see family values or whatever? What a retard
Christopher Sanders
>go to see starwars >i hate it because Sup Forums told me so.
Mhmm
Zachary Peterson
>Star Wars was always opposed to fascism, nazism, white supremacy and had liberal values like strong females
No, Star Wars as it was originally was fascist and white supremacist, not because Lucas is anything but a liberal, but because he's ideologically incoherent. He was retreating from the complexity of America and American cinema at that time into fantasies from childhood, and most of them were implicitly racist. White samurai, non-humans playing the old ethnic caricature parts from thirties and forties movies. "Cultural appropriation" is usually bullshit, but Star Wars really is just a pilfering universe, there are no original or progressive ideas in it. There are Leni Riefenstahl homages, dogfights ripped off shot-for-shot from WWII movies, and in the last chapter, Vietnam is won by whites siding with teddy-bear Vietnamese. It's inane, incoherent, and massively white supremacist in its implications. Disney are trying to dry-clean it of all that, but what they've failed to realize is that for Star Wars fans, racism is a feature, not a bug.
Andrew Anderson
>Milks a substance from creatures groin, creature coos satisfactorily. >milk
Colton Ortiz
You're projecting harder than Luke did to appear on Crait. I can only assume it will kill you.
Josiah Lee
But I can change him
Asher Hill
>alt-right wars: make the galaxy great again
someone kickstart this, the bar is really low for it to be better than what we got with TLJ, even as a no-budget production
Samuel Bailey
Chicks love the idea of an evil guy that they can "fix".
Logan Lee
>Tryhard wanna-be copypasta
All-male, all-Caucasian made-to-order Star Wars just for you, sir, coming right away, sir, fresh diapers will be included absolutely, sir
