At least quote the important parts

>star wars fatigue
>not "people don't buy female or black toys for their kids"

The USA government will end up buying them all to keep the child trafficking going

“There is fatigue with ‘Star Wars’ and all the hype surrounding the movies,” said BMO Capital Markets toy analyst, Gerrick Johnson.

Disney decided to unspool “Star Wars” films in consecutive Decembers. The first movie, 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” sparked much interest in its toy line. The reaction at retail was much more muted for 2016’s “Rogue One.”

Too much of a good thing, it appears, is bad for the toy business.

Sean McGowan, a toy analyst for Liolios said the eighth installment of the nine-part saga, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” scheduled for release on Dec. 15, will likely perform better than “Rogue One” — but may not rise to the level of “The Force Awakens.”

“We’ll have to see,” he said.

The hurt is also being felt at Bob Iger’s Mouse House. In its last quarterly results, Disney noted its licensing and retail income had declined from the previous year.

Notice how the best selling toys are the villain ones..

Lucas successfully ran the Star Wars merchandise empire for like 3 decades. I like how it turns out the goy was the one that knew how to successfully run a business and mouse house bleeds the well dry within a couple of years.

It's almost like bringing out a star wars movie every year in order to force the same toys down everyone throats is a bad marketing decision.

Lucas had it right with leaving a 3 years gap between films and having a bunch of books, video games and comics in between to keep the fans interested.

No good vidya to make kids wanna buy. EA exclusivity is biting an in the ass. Should have taken tips from Pokemon.

>movie gets bad user reviews
>omg trolls
>movie sells less than the last one
>omg it wasn’t the big comeback
>movie toys stop selling well
>omg toy fatigue
Maybe make a better movie you fucking idiots

the beaners dont like the beaner toys either and the girls don't like the girl toys. There's only one ethnic group that has any sort of cultural predilection for toys and the new movies aren't giving them much.

>"toy analyst"
What a useless life

Quality of their toys are beyond any criticism. I would rather buy a fucking miniature from a SW Armada board game. They look better and cost less. Fucking MLP toys look better than Sw official toys.

Everyone is useless right now. There's nothing in this world worth giving a shit about.

>Too much of a good thing, it appears, is bad for the toy business.
what a retard, the toys are overpriced shit and they are everywhere
of course it doesn't sell if there's 10x more toys than the demand

Very american surname Lisa

Maybe if the toys were actually good people wouldn't be fatigued.

Why do I have a sudden urge to ejaculate all over that thing?

Also what was in this movie that they could pimp for new toys? It's all the same characters from the last movie minus Rose, and who wants a figure of her? I guess they could make figures of Snoke's guards, but those are literally the only new characters from the film that lend themselves to a toy line.

At least George could introduce new characters and elements to each new movie to add to the toy line. Even by Empire, you had:

Boba Fett
Yoda
Lando
ALL the Bounty Hunters
Imperial Walkers

What's new in this that requires a drastic amount of manufacturing that wasn't in the previous film?

Japan knows how to design attractive females.

>july

Who would want to buy a toy of any of these lame characters aside from Kylo Ren anyways.

Yeah, all the prop designs from TLJ were hot ass, anything worth getting has already been in previous installments. Can't imagine kids want tuxedoed alien gambler action figures or alien horse jockey plushies.

this is what happens when you are uncreative hacks. Hate the prequels all you want but they actually had cool new characters and vehicles that were toy worthy.

The mouse is pulling a Black & Decker
>buy well know brands
> make it all in same shit factory, different colors under different names and sell them

Fuck starting from the ground up building good rep, just get chink investors to help you buy a know brand and peddle your shit under it

this is what leads to Porgs: the movie

user...

Purple haired bitch the chink rey the nig

Gotta force diversity

That story sucks kill your self

more like no ones going to buy your toys if the characters behind them are shit

DISNEY ABOMINATION IS NOT STAR WARS
DISNEY ABOMINATION IS NOT CANON
BURN DISNEY BURN
GO BANKRUPT DISNEY GO BANKRUPT

because all the new characters suck

also marketing to minorities

This. I would buy Luke and Han Solo related merch because they were young and handsome but none of the Disney characters are young and handsome so not interested in their merch.

They'll be a meme toy for a month or two and then trickle off, they have no real presence or personality in the movie, they're not going to be evergreen and keep selling the way Ewoks were.

All the Ship designs are the same shit we've seen before. None of the characters are interesting. As someone who used to have a lot off Star Wars Lego I would buy any OT or even some PT sets over any ST sets

In order to kill the mouse, you must first kill the cheese.
Caspere knew this.

WHY WOULD I BUY A HAN-SOLO-GETS-STABBED OR A LUKE-SKYWALKER-DIES MERCHANDISE? WHY? TELL ME! WHY?

What kind of autism is it to refer to Disney as "The Mouse" anyway? Do you so call McDonalds "The Clown" or Wendy's "The Totally Not Pippi Longstockings"?

is mark hamill worth it in tlj, somebody I know is broke and wants me to go watch the movie with her but i hate star wars, i want to know if luke can help me sit thru this thing.

The only Star Wars merchandise I've bought in over a decade that wasn't just OT stuff was a figure of a Deathtrooper from Rogue One and a K-2SO figure, so in that way Rogue One succeeded where the ST failed, it actually had cool new designs that look great in toy form.

Because you cannot leave the collection incomplete.
It is your destiny.

people call McDonalds "micky d" or "maccas"

Mark is great in it, one of the best performances of his career. What the script does to Luke's character isn't so great.

He was the only thing I found somewhat enjoyable in this shitty excuse of a movie. I didn't like how they treated his character or final fate though

I don’t think neither girls nor boys want ugly looking dolls of strong wyman

No, because his character is being butchered, unless you want to go see Hamill assassinating his own soul.

luke dies at the end
I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY I HATE DISNEY

>Sales of toys related to the hit movies — from Chewbacca and Darth Vader
>Not only failing to name anyone new
>Naming characters who weren't even in the new movies
The state of nuwars

American toys are a fucking joke.

>girls like dolls and makeup and dresses
>blacks/minorities just wanna play basketball and listen to rap
>no no no we have to include them in star wars and market it for people who are not the target audience because INCLUSIVITY AND DUHVERCITY
>WHY ARENT THEY SELLING
>WHY ARE OUR DIVERSITY QUOTA HIRES NOT GOOD ACTORS?

Chewbacca is in the new movies though, after Han died Rey acquired him as a pet along with the Falcon

True, but they clearly were meant to be the new BIG thing. They were going to be the merchandising tentpole, the mascot every kid wanted for Christmas.
Point is that Disney tried to "Make Something New." I guess they wanted to split the difference with the Ewoks and have the cute, cuddly mascots while keeping them off to the side away from the plot, and that clearly backfired. They tried something new, they just failed miserably.

you should go and quietly allow yourself to be amused by the trainwreck before your eyes, but only if this somebody you know is gonna giv you de pusy

Caspere?

>The hurt is also being felt at Bob Iger’s Mouse House. In its last quarterly results, Disney noted its licensing and retail income had declined from the previous year.

Uh oh.

There's no fatigue. The toys are shit. Who the fuck are you supposed to want a toy of? Some random woman? A nigger? A pygmy? I guess Kylo's helm looks nice, but that's it.
People will still buy Vader shit until Western civilization crumbles.

Yeah I can't watch porn, the premises are far too unrealistic.

It only took 40 years

To be fair, can kids distinguish a good movie from a mediocre one? I saw Phantom Menace when I was eleven and I enjoyed it. The success of Transformers franchise can probably be explained by this.

youtu.be/4hNAji3lIGE

sounds like a job that gets you paid pretty well by manufacturers and marketers in the industry

What do you do for a living user that's that important, user? This guy's job is to figure out what kind of toys people buy so kids can have the toys they want.

Atleast with those movies the toys were really great. I remember wanting Anakin's yellow fighter plane and Darth Maul action figures

What about the Snoke slippers? everyone was ravening on this board about them till the movie came out.

not that user but i'm curious is toy analyst is a full-time job. i suspect that he also does other type of analyst work and "toy analyst" is just a title the interviewer/tv-station gave him for the purpose of the report and his actual job title where he works is probably more general like "retail analyst" or something like that.

>Star Wars 4, 5, 6
>one movie every 3 years
>always on tv
>innovative and remarkable characters

>Star Wars 1, 2, 3
>one movie every 3 years
>always on tv
>innovative and remarkable characters

>Star Wars TFA, RO, TLJ
>one movie every year
>ads about the movie everywhere, not the real movie
>more of the same

It's a big problem. It no longer feels like an event. A new Star Wars should be a big deal. The only things left at this point like that are GRRM's shitty books and TES. Everything else they seem to push year after year. That Han Solo movie is coming out in the fucking summer.

>innovative and remarkable characters
>for either the originals or the prequels

God have mercy on children these days. My parents bought tons of starwars toys in the 90s when I was a child and everything in this video is mostly shit. Some bigger classic stuff, but looks like cheap plastic and all 100+$.

I watched this 2 weeks ago. Pretty good analysis on the current state of Star Wars

Noooooo you stupid goyim it was our turn

>toys are on the shelf therefore they're not selling
I said it last time someone posted this video and I'll say it again: this is a brainlet way of understanding business.
If toys aren't selling you move them off the shelf, you don't keep them there in the hope they sell eventually, the shelf space is valuable and you replace what doesn't sell with what will sell. I'm not defending Disney here, more getting angry that at a stupid understanding of business practice.

I HATE YOUR DISGUSTINGLY UGLY PICS AND I HATE YOU. PLEASE KYS ALREADY.

I still unironically think about Dexter Jettster's 50s space diner to this day.

Surprise, surprise. The greed of the Mouse is backfiring. They made a movie where a new installment was meant to be a special event into something mundane.

I will being killing myself regardless of your advice friend.

I’m sure that any shortfall in Star Wars toys will be made up by the fact Disney owns fucking Avatar and the Simpsons now

Those toys were made 2 years ago and still didn't sell.

This video seems oddly fitting for this thread.

youtu.be/H1pn4bTAQWA

Most Japanese female characters are dead boring though. Once you've seen one design you've seen them all.

I EAGERLY AWAIT THE DAY WHEN YOUR DISGUSTINGLY UGLY PICS WILL NO LONGER APPEAR ON Sup Forums

Re-read my post.

they were afraid to make figures of anything besides mains and the mains mostly suck.

a knight of Ren would have sold. BUT NOOOO, FINN AND POE

>may
I've seen the same old rotten Star Wars toys since TFA and they're not selling at all. I think people don't really give a shit about Star Wars anymore. It's super old and it's just not what kids are into.

Neither Disney or the toys manufacturer want them back. What do you expect the stores to do? Melt them to make room for new products? Disney has these stores by the balls. For every topselling Darth Vader toys, they have to buy tons of unsellable garbage. That's how retail works.

statueshit are not toys. japs do make proper action figures and they're a million times better than american ones, but statues arent in the same category.

Say what you want

>What do you expect the stores to do? Melt them to make room for new products?
Yeah they'll generally shift stuff that isn't selling to other buyers, either sell them in bulk to other stores or as you said, outsource them to be melted down for raw materials that will be sold elsewhere.

You're awful drawing is making re-reading your post difficult and painful.

Marketing to minorities is a minority market. Kinda ironic Disney made this basic mistake.

It only took three years under Disney.
Lucas might've been an autist an ruined some of the lore with the PT but he at least knew how to run the buissness for long term profit instead of short term gain.

I didn't make the drawing but suit yourself if you don't want to learn something new about how businesses operate.

Way to prove me wrong there.

I'm reminded of DC buying a comics company whose entire lineup were black (I think it was Milestone, their super-heroes included Icon an alien that adopted the form of a black slave, rocket and static two black kids) but later due to low sales cancelled every comic book in the line iirc.

>That Han Solo movie is coming out in the fucking summer.

>japs do make proper action figures and they're a million times better than american ones

That's an understatement. They are in different galaxies.

Your awful drawing makes learning difficult and painful. Seeing your awful drawing even if it's out of the corner of my eye as I try to read your text gives my eyeballs actual physical pain.

...

They also tend to cost an arm and a leg, though that's not a bad thing, prefer quality over quantity

Don't listen to these plebs. Luke wasn't ruined at all. His character is the most interesting thing in this trainwreck. He just not muh wise force master.
