If you disagree with this absolute truth you are the definition of soyboy.

All these people throwing ''soyboy'' everywhere are probably skinnyfat guys with

Am I the only one that doesn't remember which fucking movie was which in the order. I just can't take it that seriously. Star wars isn't THAT good to actually remember and commit to memory which fucking one came before or after the other.

>inb4 it was legendary masterpiece faggot kys

>V > IV
YOU are the definition of soyboy.

IV > V > VI > III > R1 > II > I > VII > VIII

VIII
V
IV
III
VI
I
VII
II

You can tell me I'm wrong but this is still how I feel and there's nothing you can do about it

My nigga

it was legendary masterpiece faggot kys

>counting R1

no its just the biggest movie franchise and anyone with a normal functioning brain could remember that

Almost agreed. II is better than VIII though. I at least remember Dooku and the large battle in the arena.

>including the "VII" and "VIII" fanfiction in your rating
fucking casuals

Huh, never had someone put them in the exact order I agree.

Have a porg, OP.

(You)

V > IV = VI > II > III > VIII > I >>>>>>>>>>>> VII

Prequels > Disneytrash

They might be fuvking trash but atleast they were original, had some interesting world-building and wasn't forced SJW-trash

I mostly agree and you seem to have good taste user, so might I inquire as to why you hold he shitfest that is Ep. II in such high regard?

Star Wars >>>>> The Empire Strikes Back = The Force Awakens > The Return of the Jedi > The Last Jedi > Revenge of the Sith > Rogue One > The Phantom Menace > Attack of the Clones

step aside plebs, watch this
IV > V > III > VI > I > RO > VII > II > not seeing VIII

Vlll>V>Vll=IV>VI>3>>2

and this is genuinely how I feel. get mad.

VIII is even worse than II. Other than that, you're correct.

VI
V
I
II
III
IV

then very far below

R1
VIII
VII

Not sure why people put Ep 1 so low. The lightsaber duels and podracing is kino.

not even mad just feel sad for you

same, at least I can filter you out

Fuck off
VI > IV > V >III > R1 > I > II > VII > VIII

Yeah darth mauls scenes were kino. I rank it so low because of jake lloyd and jar jar binks.

Really admire how it shifts genre between each world and how its basically the intersection of all the things Lucas loves as a filmmaker. The extended riff on The Searchers when they're on Tattooine is inspired. Christiensen's not even that bad, just incredibly mannered (reminds me of James Dean in RWAC) and spouting mostly bad dialogue. Portman is kind of terrible and the CGI just wasn't available for Lucas to do the things he tried to do but its an admirable effort.

1-9 = dog shit. fight me.

I > II > III > IV > V > VI > VII > VIII

how is 8 the best?

...

I unironically agree. 3 is a solid movie dragged down by 2, 1 wa alright, it could have been much better though had they the experience of 2 movies like they did for 3.

The romance between Anakin and Padme was poorly written. He came off as a total weirdo, and the chemistry was simply not there. It should have been written with the intent of Anakin being overly aggressive to the point of him then expressing his feelings for Padme, to which she does not reciprocate. Then, Anakin ups and leaves at some point, never telling Padme where he had to go, just as Padme did to Anakin as a boy. This time, Anakin just leaves the necklace pendant behind on her desk. She becomes heartbroken and begins to wonder if he'll ever come back, beating herself up over denying his advances. Only later on down the story would Anakin be there to save her at the end where she sees him again.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6
All pretty equal and love watching in this order

FUCK 7 and 8
Fucking commercials and Disney shit

>VI
>III
>V
>IV
>I
>II
>R1
>VII
>IIIV
Stfu, cuck.

I agree that their romance was clumsily handled, but the film only really suffers for it during the Naboo scenes. The scene where they are about to enter the coliseum was quite good though, even if I didn't really buy their romance up until that point.

4 and 5 are the best ones
Then 6, but the ewok stuff doesn't really fit in a climax to a space opera and pisses me off.

8 is the first movie that has ever offended me

Clones > Menace

Clones is the most ambitious prequel, and possibly the most flawed, but I'll take it over the other two any day.

it's more like

5 >= 4 > 6 > 7 > R1 > 1 > 3 > 2 > clone wars CG movie > 8

Switch III and VI and you got yourself the perfect raking

I know this is just the hate machine at work, but come on.

Does anyone seriously think any of the prequels are better than literally any of the other instalments? I mean really?

Tries a lot of new things, casts aside idolatry and shows that nothing is sacred. It was a movie that was full of tension and suspense because it quickly established that status quo meant nothing. That's amazing for a movie series like Star Wars.

It took risks and I felt like they paid off. if you took out the entire Finn/Rose plot it would've been a 10/10 movie. Luke being jaded but still inherently being impulsive and dimwitted was amazing. Yoda burning down the jedi texts was amazing.

Kylo Ren and Rey? Amazing interplay. Snoke dying? Took me for a fucking whirl.

Episode 8 was amazing because it took everything we expected and threw it out the window. It did nothing according to plan but it definitely didn't do a ton wrong (again: Rose). Little long but it had so many cool moments like the Hyperspeed crash, Luke battling Kylo, and that fucking gorgeous scene where Rey/Ren fight the guards.

That's another thing, it was PRETTY. Star Wars movies have always been high on scenery porn and gratifying action, but this is the first one that felt like it had great interior design and beautiful sets/fights instea of just cool ones. The red sand on the snow planet was amazing to watch, the red room fight was the coolest shit while still not seeming overly choreographed.

It also played with callbacks and parallels. Every scene with Kylo was tremendous because he wants to be Anakin so badly, but Anakin's decisions were also made on a moral tightrope and he just happened to fall the wrong way, so seeing Kylo on that same tightrope, still not necessarily falling, doing both good and evil, it's fuckin thrilling dude.

I could go on forever about everything it did right and different but I'll just say I think it's a mistake putting Abrams back on for IX. It shows they didn't like the risks Johnson took and I'm already bored by what'll come next because of that.

Swap 1 and 3 and I agree

I'd probably still say Phantom Menace is the most flawed of the 3, if only for Jar Jar. I get that Lucas was going for some Buster Keaton style physical comedy, but none of it works and he's featured way to prominently to ignore.

I agree with this post

Seems to be the consensus on the thread.
Are you too shittasted to realize it?

this

V>IV>III=VI>VIII>>RO>>I>>>VII>>>>II

I don't think anyone else has my opinion, which I find odd. I liked RotS and TLJ a lot, I found TPM and RO tolerable/fun, and I really disliked TFA and AOTC

switch 2 and 3 and we have a winner

8 is perfectly decent in a vacuum, but when you look at the big picture and even the film that preceded it it's not cohesive at all and shows that no one has a fucking clue what they're doing with this trilogy.

True soy-free ranking coming through

V > IV = VI > III = VII > I > VIII > RO > II

>acknowledging the prequels

5 > 4 > 3 = 8 > 6 > R1 > 2 = 7 > 1
epic!

OP here
not mad about this

Agreed with this ranking

I agree with this, user.
So much of the rage seems to be coming from "not muh Star Wars" but a huge part of why I loved the movie was how much it fucked with my expectations.

By the third act I genuinely had none, when characters were put in danger I was genuinely worried for them. I felt suspense and intrigue and connected with the characters and their arcs.

Now I'm an enormous SW's fan, all the films, all the games, most of the books and comics, a plan with my buddies about how we'd have survived the Jedi purge if we were there, embarrassing video of us at 13 having "lightsaber" duels in the woods near our town , the whole bag. And I loved it, I don't mind what I love surprising me so long as it's delivered well and VIII was a fantastic film.

In choreography, visual design, direction, sound, dialogue (for the most part) and writing it was a joy to watch. Granted floating Leia was a little off and the Casino subplot was basically there to give Finn something to do. But no film's perfect.

Loved it from start to finish.

how much are you getting paid?

Sort yourself out

>rog one wuz bad! Where was duh lite sabah battles pew pew

...

This is some high quality bait even though it's probably copied from a review. I particularly liked the Reddit spacing, it's the perfect icing on the cake.

FUCKING THIS!

When I go to a Five Star restaurant, and the waiter plops down some McDonald shit on my plate it really makes me think.

What even is gourmet food? I question my preconceived notions about what i thought was sacred and good, and appreciate the subversive and deconstructionism

/thread

III>VI>V>IV>VII>I>II>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>IX>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rogue One

Here's the official ranking, ranked by universe and film

1. A New Hope as a standalone film

2. IV = V > VI as a standalone trilogy

3. IV = V > VI > III > I > II if all Disney Wars isn't canon

4. IV = V > VI > R1 > III > VII > VIII > I > II if all the movies are canon

Thanks but I still loved the movie

2 had a fuckload more memorable scenes than the Disney shit in recent years.
Obi-Wan on Kamino alone is better than anything the latest movies have to offer.

Rogue one was bad because all it had was battles

>nothing is sacred

Postmodern nihilist soyboy detected god is dead bro huehuehue

bold choice rating a movie that hasn't been made yet and not rating the lastest one in the series

Leia floating around in space using the force was more retarded than Jar Jar and spinning Yoda combined.

I feel the same but I have a pretty bad memory. I think the OT is completely overrated anyways.

5 > 6 > 4 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 7 > R1 > 8
The new ones are the most bland forgettable trash imaginable.

Meant it more like in the sense of status quo but I guess I can understand that you don't like the movie and don't think I should either. You're wrong though

Agreed, that’s the only acceptable ranking. but you haven’t ranked RO.

>You're wrong though

Whatsamatter bro, I thought you were supposed to be like all "fuck everything, there is no truth, the Jedi order caused the rise of the Empire and are to blame, hue"?

you have shit taste and nothing's gonna change that

but hey, ignorance is bliss so I guess at least you'll be smiling when disney shoves a $20 porg themed bowl of popcorn down your gullet

3 = 5 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 2 > RO > 7 > 8
Anyone who thinks differently is a low testosterone, low HGH, high estrogen pussy.

OP here, have not seen it.
I self imposed that on me otherwise I'd spent the next 50 years of my life going to the movies anually to watch the new side story.
Once Disney is done with the numbered episodes I'm out.

VIII is better than VII

>the Jedi order caused the rise of the Empire
Not that user, but if you're implying this isn't the case then you literally don't understand Star Wars.

>you literally don't understand Star Wars

Oh cool, look, mom, it's mind projection!

V > IV > VI > III > VII > I = VIII > II

The fact that the Jedi's own arrogance allowed them to be manipulated by Sheev isn't even subtext and you're an actual retard who can't understand children's movies if you didn't realize that.

you're wrong dude, just accept it

>TFA better than TLJ
>AOTC worse than TPM

II > VII > VIII

>tfw remembering that Maz referred to Chewie as her "boyfriend" in VII
>heavily implies she had sex with the code breaker in VIII

Chewie x Maz Rule34 when??

>$0.02 Mouse Sheckles have been deposited into your account

You were close!

V>IV>VI>III>VIII>I>II>VII

III = IV > V = VI = I = II > shit and vomit > roadkill > R1 > VII = VIII

agreed

You're a fucking idiot. You probably love super hero movies, right?

The Force Awakens and Attack of the clones are the two worst Star Wars movies

The good parts of 6 are better than 4, but 4 is just so well-paced and the buildup to every event is so perfect I think it's an overall better movie. 6 is too disjointed (partly because Han has basically nothing to do).

I'm talking about the prequels, not Disney-shit, you braindead moron.

Patrician, anyone who disagrees is a pseudointellectual contrarian.

If you take out Finn and Rose you lose the casino which was a cool setting and the stuttering bandito which was a cool side character.

Swap IV and V and I'll agree

>Good films, fun films
IV, V, VI
>Bad films, fun films
III, RO
>Good films, not fun films
VIII
>Bad films, not fun films
I, II, VII

Switch VII in front of I

I is just a snore fest besides the Darth Maul fight
