Why is baldness traditionally associated with evil in comic books and cartoons? Always wanted to know. The most despicable villains are almost always bald.

went bald from the stress of concocting shitty plans that never work.

Everyone knows that evil is bad for hair health.

Not always. bald characters tend be either bad guys or badass good guys

Think of the most evil person you know.

Now imagine them bald.

They just got a little more evil, didn't they?

It's a cheap way to give a character some BADASS points. You don't have to waste effort on showing how badass your villain is if you remove their hair.

Comics were made for kids, making a character bald is the easiest way to make them seem like an adult. It's easier to make kids accept a character is evil the less they are like them.

woah... so this is the true power of hair loss...

I remember a Super friends episode where the reason lex luther was evil was because superboy busted through his lab, and the chemicals made him lose his hair.

so that might be why

Because kids are never naturally bald.

Same reason there are so few heroes with facial hair.

Only black men can pull off the baldness.

I was about to bring up Charles Xavier, but then I recalled he's not exactly a saint himself.

Because of men are more crime prone. Testosterone is the male hormone. Testosterone makes you go bald.

Same reason so many villains have deeper voices or whatever. Makes them more masculine.

skinheads

In ancient greece it was the hairstyle of the violent, uncultured slaves.

It has been the favored hairstyle for decades of criminals and thugs for its combat effectiveness.

It's also the official hairstyle of skinheads and neonazis.

Being balld is generally considered not attractive
Same reasons many villains in history have yellowed teeth to make them seem evil, even though there is nothing inherently evil about it

Evil is ugly. Bald is ugly. Figure it out.

Evil is ugly.
Good is dumb.

...

He looks like Hugo Stange.

Because bald is ugly and only ugly people are evil.
T. a bald guy.

>comic books and cartoons
>posts a Sup Forums, sort of Sup Forums, example

Either it's 'hair=virility=virtue, hence to easily identify the villain, let's make them bald', or maybe something like 'villain=control, hair=freedom, hence villain=bald'

what's his endgame?

This is pretty much it except it's not specific to kids or comics. Humans see long or thick hair as a sign of trustworthiness or virtue, which is why while bald men are tolerated at best, bald women are typically shunned

mad gains

>Being bald is generally considered not attractive.
By plebians, sure.

Such evilness!

To add on

Also it's a health thing. When you get REALLY fucking old, you inevitably lose your hair. And NOBODY wants to get old. Even people who are open about wanting to die would give anything not to be old

Pitbull was the shittiest "main villain" in the series desu, maybe a bit better than Revolver Jesus.

Why is Hideki Kamiya in Persona 5?

i definitely think you could call spider jerusalem evil, for some value of evil

he just happens to joust with way bigger douchebags

>karl pilkington

AY EVERYBODY!

Brian Cranston explained that baldness was a more intimidating look. plus facial hair more so.
So it's an intimidating look might be why.

>Testosterone makes you go bald.
>Same reason so many villains have deeper voices or whatever. Makes them more masculine.
Then why is balding seen as a bad thing?

because it's associated with evil in classic literature ( fiction of course ) because old bald geezers are assholes, they've always been

Bait answer would be that comic readers are taught from a young age that masculinity is bad. However, thick hair is also seen on many hyper masculine good guys. No clear answer

Cuz they racist skinheads

>testosterone makes you go bald

People say this a lot but it doesn't mean what you think. It's not the amount of testosterone that makes you bald; bald men aren't necessarily more virile

It's the fact that you have it and you're genetically inclined to react to it in certain ways

Hairlets, when will they learn

But he just wanted to Make Japan Great Again.

People fear the chrome dome.

It resembles a skull + has been considered a deformity since Roman times + Adds an air of masculine authority

he literally has god in his corner during the campaign

>Aku
ehhhhhh i dunno
