Meh, depends on preference
But I would argue anybody who doesn't say G1, Beast Wars, Animated, or Prime has got to be out of their mind, while all the above are reasonable choices for different reasons and different points of view

I will say this much though, Beast Wars handled characters the best

Had the best toys, so yes.

Why do you say that, just out of curiosity

Didn't it have the first tranny transformer?

there was the ant who insisted on calling megatron a queen and generally using female pronouns for him

I used to watch this.

trukk not munky

...

very easily so.

They're actually probably referring to the fusion of Tigatron and Airazor (a male and a female) from near the end of the series, or the one "failed" protoform from early in the series that ended up self-destructing, often seen as an analogue to people born with defects or the mentally ill.

yes, but it didn't have much in the way of quality competition as far as series go.(not counting movies)
That isn't to say it wasn't great.
toys were hella fun, even if they didn't compare to some of the die-cast transformer of yore.

That was funny.

Yes the one that was generally creepy as fuck. It was sad but goddamn was transmutate a weird little thing

But his loyalty is unquestioned.

For all the hate that Fun Pub gets, couple of their Beast Wars timelines weren't that bad. Delivered on some great toys depicting BW era characters.

>tfw a kid who grew up with G1 when super young but loves Beast Wars to death since it was "my" TF show
>tfw people who think it's the only good TF show make me want to hate it in mere seconds just because they're so wrong and being "le 90s kidz"

There really is no winning with fandoms

Is that like a reverse Predacon/Maximal team there? WTF is that?

you win by liking the show you like.

you seem like a pretty miserable guy, user

Why would you want to let other people ruin something you love, user?

>tfw people who think it's the only good TF show

How can anyone even think this when Beast Machines exists?

Gr8 b8 m8

>it's a Sup Forums prefers fart jokes over cartoons that aren't afraid to treat children like adults episode

Only ones that are good without nostalgia goggles are Gorilla Primal, Optimal Optimus, TM Megatron, and Tigerhawk. And maybe a few of the little guys like TM2 Spittor and Terrorsaur.

Most of the rest was kibbley or stumpy. I mean, I love my Dinobot figure, but he's far from top tier transformer.

MP Dinobot soon fellow maximal scum

Aside from G1, yea that list is on point.

>he doesn't like Web World

> good
> prime

i miss the joke

Shattered Glass Beast Wars. It involves Time Patrol Depth Charge investigating why a G1/Classicverse Ark (Prowl, Ultra Magnus, Silverbolt aka Magnaboss) ends up on this planet during this time period. It wasn't revealed to be BW Shattered Glass universe until the last panel of the story showing of Meg's crew in Maximal deco. It works off the Beast War toys

forgot that Fun Pub worked Ultra Mangus into Ultra Mammoth

Beast Machine was great.

...

Airazor was a trap (sometimes) in Japan.

Did this fuckface ever controlled his transformation? I didn't finish the series

It's leagues better than Prime.

I don't disagree, while I like Prime, I will argue there are those who would disagree

Prime was fine, flawed as any series you can point out.

Don't forget that BM Nightscream was portrayed flamboyant as fuck in the japanese broadcast of Beast machines.

Airazor and Nightscream are the best trapbois

Never like how the show went with that angle for a character trait. The toy had legs for robot mode.

What happened to the concept of a rotating cast in Transformers media? Car Robots and to a lesser extent both the Unicron Trilogy and Animated tried to incorporate as much toys as characters in their respective shows. That's a personal problem I had with Prime and RiD2016

It led to no characters actually being characters
Part of why shows like Beast Wars were so praised is because it allowed actual character development over G1 esque "every character is just a trope" style

The sad part is you believe that.

I don't remember too much of Beast Wars and beast machine for the actual show but I do remember the toys for both shows being the absolute tits

What about the Energon Wars? The action happens on Cybertron and in space and they have space battles on remote battles.

Oh and what about Armada?

on remote planets*

>Rattrap
>Liking traps
I see you japan

Kiddy anime Pokemon tier shit

The sad part is you like Transformers anime, go watch Bakugan ya faggot

>legsROnly4Show

By mere chance I -only- had Rattrap from both Beast Wars and Machines (Christmas present from different years), great toys

Yeah, Beast Wars characters were so deep

>Muh Honor
>Muh Queen
>Muh Headache in WHOLE body

I'd say RID 2000 had the best toys but Beast Wars or Prime would be the best as shows.

Have yet to really watch animated, wasn't able to get into it when it first aired because I didn't care for the art direction at the time.

Season 1 of Beast Wars directly ripped off G1 character traits/tropes:
Cheetor/Bumblebee: Yellow young rookie
Rattrap/Cliffjumper,Pipes,Gears: Sarcastic Jerk
Rhinox/Perceptor,Wheeljack,Ratchet: Techguy Mechanic
Terrorsaur/Starscream: Doublecrossing jerk
Tarantulus/G1 Comic Shockwave: shady scientist
Dinobot/G1 Comic Grimlock: Honor and challenges Leadership
Scorpinoks/any decepticon generic: personality of a brick

Beast Wars had character development, as in characters changed and....developed...as the series went on
The more toy commercially TF shows that just throw a new product in your face ever 30 seconds don't have that, because they can't

Irony that the only time they developed as characters was in the show Beast Wars fanboys hate.

which Beast Wars version of Rattrap did you have? Both regular and transmetal were great toys. Have you checked out the Generations Rattrap?! Such a great update to the mold

The difference is, those characters went somewhere in Beast Wars...Cheetor went from a happy chipper young blood to an angry young warrior, Tarantulas went from a raving psychopath to a super intelligent secret spy, etc etc

The smaller cast allowed characters to grow and be explored and have their own stories, you can't have that in a show with a gigantic as fuck cast, it is not possible in a kids cartoon that exists in 22 minute episodes

I didn't know there was more than one version until now; I had the transmetal
I have a huge nostalgia boner for transformer nowadays (coupled by legit amazement for some of the mechanisms/designs for transformations), I kinda want to get into collecting some

Mostly because higher management told the writers of BM that they couldn't use character traits from BW. Essentially making them into newish versions

>One odd brief was that both Mainframe boss Dan DiDio and Hasbro didn't want Skir and Isenberg to watch old episodes, as they wanted a fresh take and DiDio felt Beast Wars was too continuity heavy. (He'd even told Wolfman that Beast Wars had no ties to the original series and to do as he pleased with Generation 1 continuity when doing his outline!
cited from the Beast Machines' DVD supplementary materials

Fair warning, it's a deep rabbit hole between current mainlines, past lines, Masterpiece and third party.

Yeah collecting the plastic crack can be dangerous at times. I originally started collecting Classics/Generation updates to the '85 cast. I'm in valhalla with the last two lines with Combiner Wars and Titans Return with all the juicy G1 updates. But I do try to get favorites: Like the updated Beast War toys, Legends Blackarachnia is such a great remold. And any toy that reps IDW designs.

I've spent way too much money on this shit.

Not even counting how headfirst I've dived into Titans Return

...

Easily the best TF series

youtube.com/watch?v=A9t7G_lHeiY

...

I'm glad I slowed down on the toys. Titans Return failed to really grab me outside of some little guys.
And third parties went Ina direction I didnt really care for but I haven't checked back so I can't say if that's true anymore.
As it turns out I'm pretty autistic when it comes to Masterpiece apparently. No third parties allowed. Keep all the boxes.
Just need a Ratchet and I'll be caught up on those.

I blew it off too until my cousin convinced me to give it a try. Its story is pretty solid and the characters are great. A lot of throw back stuff for G1 fans. I'd say watch it, user.

...

NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW

No other Megatron has come off even remotely as this threatening. Fart jokes and rubber duckies aside Mainframe knew how to make Megs intimidating when they wanted to

I like how they kept joking about diecast in the show.

>not Rescue Bots
ishiggydiggy

Was the only worthwhile bit of BWSG that one panel of the SG Maximals?
