Yeah, you know, I thought pretty much everyone on the show was fairly balanced, but Nancy had absolutely no redeeming qualities. At least John Redcorn had moments that made you think maybe he was an okay guy, despite his mistakes. He even tried to do right by Dale as best he could by never telling Joseph the truth (though that was John wiggling out of responsibility as much as it was him doing right by Dale, I guess).
Nancy was just an awful human being.

Peggy is an ignorant narcissist, and thereby more insufferable while not necessarily being an awful person. Nancy is a selfish bitch and objectively a bad person, but she's far easier to suffer than Peggy because she doesn't have a ridiculously bloated idea of herself like Peggy does.

Redcorn was willing to tell Joseph anyway, for his own reasons. He only decided not to when he saw that Joseph and Dale had a good relationship based on genuine familial love and didn't want to ruin that.

Ted was basically a non character. Buck was a lazy asshole but he had his own code of honor. Cotton was complete shit to Hank and almost everyone around him, but he cares about Bobby and that's usually where his morality will stem from.

Junichiro was basically just Asian Hank. That was the joke. However far you get things don't really change and a lot of people really are just that plain.
Which is why Cotton loves Bobby. Bobby is outrageous and can do unexpected things and doesn't buckle under pressure so much as change the situation around him in weird ways. Bobby doesn't get confrontational but doesn't cry about it like Hank often does.
When did Buck have a code of honor? Buck was a total piece of shit in about everyway imaginable. The only times he's halfway decent is when Hank dusts him off from rock bottom
I think the real reason that Cotton loves Bobby is that Bobby always loved Cotton. Hank "fucked up" when he was afraid of him as a baby. GH however wasn't afraid of Cotton so he loves him like the son he always wanted. Similarly he likes Juntyjo until he tells him to fuck off.
