It was a pretty mediocre movie but these guys stunk it up bigtime, and ruined every scene they were in. The worst offenders are Rose, Holdo, Finn and Maz.
Characters that ruined TLJ
Take it back. Sup Forums is a pro Rose board.
Poe was alright, he had an actual arc and learned how to be a better leader.
/ourguy/
Objectively wrong.
Oscar is the second best actor in the series and his actions made sense every step of the way considering he was being kept in the dark.
He was only there to demonstrate 'toxic masculinity'
no one likes the asian boy and I still don't understand why they had a gay romance but didn't put Finn and Poe together instead of this new random dude
We need Poe spin off. And he needs to man handle Rey in IX
Boy that wrinkled orange really gets me steamed. I'd love to serenade her in my bedroom if you know what I mean.
This guy was okay too. Didn't really do anything wrong, was just looking out for himself. He didn't see things in black and white like the rest of the characters do.
no it's not
What was the deal with that Maz character? They call her on a space phone and she is in thew middle of some heated gun battle with aliens and decides to answer her phone to give some random people advice? I guess women can just handle any kind of tough situation with total ease.
The alien with glasses looks like excrement after you've eaten too much maize.
I would have unironically believed Poe and Finn as a couple. They had arguably the most chemistry out of any two people in the recent films.
Boom. You get your political points and you get a relationship that isn't shoehorned in.
This movie's mission statement is literally taking what works and breaking it.
haha No she is a reddit character through and through
I actually liked this, it just implies how much of a "day at the office" a fucking gunfight with a jetpack is to her
That gave her more character than her entire appearance in TFA
Maybe.
Him showing that both sides engaged in the arms dealing was one of the best scenes of the movie desu
the "maybe" was the most genuine heartfelt line in the entire fucking film
Why the hell would they allow a commander who looks like huge slob.
he didn't learn to be a leader. He learned to be a mindless worker ant who blindly follows orders because someone he's never met outranks him. He learned that if he takes initiative and succeeds at his goal, all the others who willingly sacrificed their lives for the cause and died helping him actually died in vain and it's his fault. He learned to stop trying to win this war and just let the women drive the ships aimlessly through space until they run out of gas and are forced to hobble down the road to find a phone to call for help. He learned that if your leaders have given up and accepted everyone's inevitable deaths, you must be a good soldier and accept your death as well and not try to save everyone or continue to fight even if it seems hopeless.
every character's arc in this movie is about dealing with failure, my man.
why didn't they use the space phone they called Maz with to call for help? Why didn't Maz call for help for them? Why didn't Finn and Rose just fly to another planet to call for help?
He's not a commander, he's just some Guy who sold them out
good cause the movies a failure as well
>likes you because you're a hero
>blocks your heroism
Too bad it will have 0 consequence.
>trying to make sense of TLJ's plot
she only likes finn bcuz she wants the bbc
>woman
what were you expecting
>she fangirls over the exaggerated stories of his heroism
>he consistently proves he's a coward easily tempted by vices and is nothing like the stories
>everything about his perceived heroic nature is shattered
>but they saved that one horse thing so now they are in love
I still don't really understand why his character was in the movie. His plot is basically that there aren't exclusively good guys and bad guys in the world but that they can be either both at different times or none at all. His character is meant to show that not everyone chooses a side
Yet the entire movie and all of Star Wars is about choosing between good or evil so why even have this in there?
how the fuck did finn suddenly get advanced knowledge of technology when he didnt even know what a fucking tool looked like in TFA?
why the fuck does everybody give poe shit for destroying a huge battleship with no comparable weapons and acceptable losses?
what was the fucking point of the asian? finn actually didn´t need her for anything in his retarded storyline.
why is rey retarded enough to want to help a guy who murdered his own father in front of her?
why does the pink haired cunt not tell anyone her genius plan even at the risk of mutiny?
this abortion of a movie just makes me want to bang my head against a wall until i forget that i ever saw it
>His character is meant to show that not everyone chooses a side
Not quite. His character is to show that someone who doesn't choose sides is essentially siding with the 'bad guys', that's what they were trying to show, if you're not with us, then you are against us. That's why they had him betray the Rebels to show that anyone choosing a middle ground is really just as bad as the bad guys.
No way, chinky potato faced failures can go away.
Think China introduced laws that prohibit gay couples on tv and movies. Shows you how Disney really care about the cause
Poe literally dindu nuffin throughout the whole movie. Seriously felt like he and Finn should've been on the pointless Casino mission, but Rose was added in last minute.
>Poe and Finn together on the casino mission
>Poe kisses Finn at the end on salt planet
still a better love story than Finn/Rose
Now that I think about it you're probably right. Disney seems virulently apposed to moral complexity of any kind for some reason.
the odds of Finn ending up with Rey are about 80% imo. Disney has made Kylo too complex of a character for him to end up with their golden girl.
You forgot rey you dumb cunt
Niggers and cucks will never let it go.
she sucked but she was not the worst of the problems with TLJ. Rey was annoying as fuck in TFA but she was way less annoying in this movie
>Kylo
>complex character
how is that guy complicated?
100% villain, 100% faggot.
add yoda to that image, he was gay as fuck
You forgot someone.
Rey sounds like Emma Watson and kind of looks like her a bit
The only good or interesting character in the movie was Kylo Ren. A few characters were just tolerable, not good or super bad. Literally everyone else was cancer.
Fuck she has a massive forehead.
I forget and then re-notice it every time.
What a hideous bitch.
Literally what happened in the writing process.
...
>tfw he reminded me of Tom Hardy's character in Taboo
mmhmmm nootka
>his life was thrown into the dark side by betrayal from his master
>unlike vader, he cut his strings and isn't just a puppet
>finds fault in jedi and sith but is willing to team up with rey
Sad but true. Ren is the only character who actually feels like a character. I feel like half the reason people want Reylo to happen so badly is because it would actually give Rey an emotion. It would have been neat if Rey had accepted the offer and then she makes genuine attempts to reform the First Order into something more benign and Kylo is forced to decide whether to go along with it and reject the change and try to kill her again.
>that forehead
>yfw this is literally the best character in TLJ
Kylo is a troubling character for me. Because of him, I can't completely hate the new trilogy. Having a young, emotionally conflicted dark side user is the only original thought that this series has going for it. I thought for sure they'd ruin him in this movie, but instead they made him even better despite ruining basically everything else. It's infuriating. Why couldn't he have been in a better series?
he didn't show that "both sides were engaged in arms dealing", just that suppliers regularly sell weapons to both the first order and resistance. You can't exactly blame them for wanting weapons to defend themselves, and neither of them are necessarily even aware of it.
in comparison to pretty much every other character in the movie, he is the most complex.
actually the reason why luke sensed darkness in him was because snoke shot him with the evil gun as a kid
that's because that's what it was before Rian fucked it up by being le edgy troll man
did he poison his midichlorians?
no it is just bad writing.
im happy you brought up midochlorians though. anikin was the chosen one and had a huge amount of midochlorians. now, for some reason, rey has so many, that she doesnt need to train at all to control her powers. what the fuck is this? its bad writing is what it is.
Ridleys performance is downright embarrassing.
it is really. frankly she should have died at the end of the last movie, at least finn is an actual character instead of literal deus ex machina.
The best character in the movie desu, the only good thing to come from it.
Agree, but Po is salvageable
The whole sequence with the kids and the animals at the casino planet was fucking cringey, those kids need to be gassed
Rose & that stupid orange female thing idk its name, but she made me cringe when she showed up in the movie
>way less annoying in this movie
>bashes an unarmed old man in the back
After part 7 everybody was hating Kylo.
Fuck Star Wars fans, they are so inconsistent
That's because people were expecting Darth Vader 2.0 and now they realize that this was one expectation that was subverted well compared to the other expectations "subverted" in this piece of shit.
Yeah how about stop expecting shit.
I was expecting nothing and the film was good. It has way to less jedi star wars stuff for me but fuck the whole "war" in Star wars is the best 2 date. After rogue one finally Star wars has some good war sequences. It was a solid movie
>be kid in the 80's and 90's
>get treated like garbage and made fun of by stacies and chads for liking nerd shit like star wars
>be adult in modern times
>be made fun of by stacies and chads for not liking the new star wars movies
I'm done with this shit. I don't want to be a part of it anymore. They can have it.
HAHA! EPIC!
The war stuff was terrible, what are you on about? The stupid bomber design, the idiotic tactics displayed by the First Order (Hurr Durr, their ship is just out of reach for our guns to get past the deflector shields, let's slowly follow and fire at them instead of getting more ships in to pincer them and end the Resistance once and for all) and the god damn stupidity of the Resistance leaders of not telling CAPTAINS and the other frigate pilots about their plan to go unnoticed by the First Order in escape pods (Even though the First Order can clearly see the escape ships if they looked out the fucking window). The only good war part is the hint of how the war economy works in this universe. In every other aspect, it is garbage.
Quigon jinn wasn't in this movie.
Let’s have a moment of silence for what could’ve been Episode IX
wtf I love The Last Jedi now
I fucking hate fence sitters, pick a side
cops confiscated phone
so what you're saying is...
the turncoat codebreaker is a caricature of a radical centrist?
When did the 1st order even hire him again?
I like the idea of showing that heroic, bold plans don't always work and sometimes all you can do is manage failure and loss.
I feel like they ran that into the goddamn ground over and over again, however. There's like 8 plans they come up with that fail, fuck up and kill off more of the resistance.
I hate to say it, but I also felt like Leia should have died early on and keeping her around added zero to the movie save making her and impotent observer to the string of defeats and failure.
at this point, what difference does it make?
When they were caught on Smok's ship he gave up the Resistance's escape plan in order to get himself and his ship released.
Him having that information is yet another point where the Resistance's terrible operational security and lack of discipline hurt them.
>women and minorities totally ruined the movie for me
t. butthurt alt right virgin
Why are they all so ugly?
add me on reddit senpai, i want to discuss rick and morty fan theories with you
Wasnt really because of the characters. I actually liked Finn in TFA, but his role in this was just useless shit filler.
>the horse thing gets recaptured or killed the next day
I get that you hate le SJWs and everything, but you don't need to make everything about your personal war
>Oscar is the second best actor
*upvotes*
>the horse thing is saved by the children who explores beastiality with it
> tmw you realize they could have flied most rebels to the casino planet (or really anywhere), thus saving them from the first order.
BTW Finn had his back and jacket sliced by a light saber. Is it really that easy to recover from a slashed spine? He didn't even need a support.
I feel bad for whatever his name is playing Finn. Both films he's been given nothing important.
>got to save Rey
Oops she saved herself and now she's saved you
>got to save the fleet
Oops, no.
>got to destroy the big death laser
Oops no, fat Asian saved you by trying to kill you because LOVE
They didnt. He overheard them talking about the transports and sold them out when they got caught.
