Apocalypse Now, 1979

>tfw watching The Dark Crystal on 1.25x speed and it gets 100% better

I know those props were expensive Jim but please stop showing me a puppet walk slowly through a field.

Another favourite of mine.

The Dark Knight Rises, 2012

Age of Ultron, 2015

The Karate Kid, 1984

Legend, '85

The VVitch, 2015

Stop talking about the dark crystal, they might remake it.

Just rewatched it a couple weeks ago for the first time in a while. Why is it so much better than Labyrinth? Where's the hype for Age of Resistance? As long as it gives us Skeksis puppets, it won't be worthless.

Netflix are literally making a prequel series at the moment.

Black Hawk Down, 2001

In Bruges, 2008

I love Labyrinth but the reason The Dark Crystal is so amazing is because it's literally just the puppets. It's got all the great world building elements and is actually a really interesting dark eldritch world. Something most films don't do.

Conan the Barbarian, 1982

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The Dark Knight Rises, 2012

But fortunately they are keeping with Jim Henson's vision. So hopefully they will do it responsibly and not fuck it up.

Apocalypse Now (Redux), 1979

The Fifth Element, 1997

During my rewatch I found the only thing that truly sucked was Jen character and pupet. Kind of a shame when it's your main character. Skesis are GOAT and mystics deserved much more screentime. They could have made a series about Skeksis daily life.

...

BANE?

ROOBEY ROWD

it was a big movie

It's true Jen and Kira are the weaker puppets in the film.

for you

It, 2017

>the only thing that truly sucked was Jen character and pupet
the face was horrifying

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. 1966

Jurassic Park, 1993

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, 2011

The Dark Knight Rises, 2012 i think.

The Godfather Part II, 1974

Was gonna post this, damn you

Adaptation, 2002

Rather than weak I'd say that it was a complete miss and borderline nightmare fuel. The supposedly cutesy elf creature turned out much scarier than the Skeksis.

How come this aged creature CGI works better than most recent stuff?

Lost Highway 1997

Predator 1987

>But fortunately they are keeping with Jim Henson's vision.

There is literally no proof of this, nor any proof they can even do that.

JP was right in the golden era where puppetry, robotics, CGI, go motion (blurred stop motion) all came together and looked amazing with new guys working with old timer special FX veterans.

It actually was the year 2012. good choice user.

The Lovely Bones, 2009

The Princess Bride, 1987

I mean sticking with puppetry. Knowing Netflix they could have easily made a cheaply animated series.

Magnus Rex, MMXII

Blame It On Rio, 1984.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 1988

Hercules in New York, 1970

Lawrence of Arabia, 1962

Heard terrible things about it, watched the DC version and it turned out alright even though Scott tends to get lost in visuals crafting, making the narrative suffer.

Akira, 1988

Read? Read what?

Strange Days, 1995

pretty sure that's not akira but ok

Grave of the Fireflies, 1988

i love when they ride their motorcycles to the firefly graves. pure kino.

It really is.

We are the spark that will light the flame that will burn the Ottoman Empire down.

Gone with the Wind, 1939

Zulu, 1964

epic soundtracks

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie , 1995

They Look Like People, 2015

One of the few movies i enjoy watching with my mom.

Good choice.

i'm deRAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGED

Sleepy Hollow
1999

Good Will Hunting
1997

epic everything

What do you think he meant by that?

Original Soundtrack Album

Why do older movies look so fucking good? Is it even possible to get this kind of quality with digital cameras?

Digital will never match the look of analogue film.

Rosemary's Baby, 1968
