it goes into a quality spiral after hanks trial. that feels like the natural leave off point but its keeps going. It's still good but prepare to hate becca/karen and all the sentimental side just dies with that. After the shows decline is almost a metacommentary about the shows opinions of showbuissiness

I think the first 3 were fine. After that it I'd say no. Rob Lowe is entertaining however.

It definitely goes downhill after like season 4ish but still has great moments with runkle/rob lowe/bates. The entire arc with atticus is dogshit though and the last season is really unwatchable unless u genuinely love the characters

I know this feel. Why won't she just take me back already? Just like with Karen it's a constant rollercoaster of bullshit. Last night was a good night for us, tomorrow we'll probably get in an argument about something and undo any progress that was made. It's been like this for 5 years now. It's exhausting.

The good thing about this show is that you can quit after any season and you get a fairly decent conclusion (I recall the creators saying this was done on purpose in case they got cancelled suddenly). Anyway, the first four seasons are worth it and, in my mind, is the whole story. Season 5 is poor, 6 was entertaining, 7 pure dogshit - any sort of wit was thrown out for juvenile grossout humor, every character started swearing excessively, and Duchovny seemed to just go through the motions.

On the off topic of the X-Files, the interactions between Mulder and Scully are what made the show watchable, sometimes great---hence Seasons 8 and 9 having terrible ratings and being near universally hated.

I've enjoyed seeing the show get a revival, but I hope Chris Carter lays the fuck off this next season. He never knew what he was doing with the mytharc or M&S relationship and should let new talent take over.

I also hope discount Mulder and discount Scully get BTFO early in the season. I'd rather eat my own vomit than see them replace Duchovny and Gillian, even if it means ending the show.
