Face it, it's kino

Face it, it's kino

I know

In two years time it will most likely go down in Sup Forums's kino collection.

Depends upon how bad it's received overall. Sup Forums will love it if normies hate it. It is the only truth.

BUT THE SJWS!

STARBLARGS IS KINO! GET WRECKED CIS SCUM

desperate

Did this film even meet anyone’s expectations?!

It if can hit rotten by the audience then Sup Forums will claim it as kino because the audience didn't understand it.

If both fanboys and normies hate it, you know it's kino.

No, it subverted them which is what made it so good

Star Wars doesn't work the way other movies do, Sup Forums contrarianism doesn't apply

...

Is this the designated shilling thread?

...

if you remove
>mama calls Poe joke - pathetic
>Supermaning Leia - making fun of dead actress?
>whole useless dumb casino subplot - literally just like "The Mummy" 2017 Prodigium bit everyone shat on
>lightspeed kamikaze - literally promoting suicide terrorism
and give
>Chewie something to do, for more than 2minutes screentime
>more diverse aliens
I'm ok with pretty much everything else, but these above are just undefendable.

my expectations were rock bottom and I went in having seen no trailers or reading any reviews. probably why I liked it desu, but I can see how others would hate it

Gotg2 was actutally enjoyable though.

Never ever soyboy cucks.

How cute you shitters trying to be contrarians in a lost cause....remember the Zackfags?same shit and now they are gone

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is my least favorite movie I've watched this year. And I saw star wars

...

KOTOR II was great though

KotOR 2 is fantastic, but not when you take only the surface level of its themes and marvelize them.

>BvS is kino
>TLJ is kino
I guess kino = shit, then? sure, the Last Jedi is kino.

Let me tell you why The Last Jedi is absolute kino, on a meta level. Rian Johnson was willing to sacrifice a whole movie, just to tell two things:
>1, he hates the Star Wars fandom
>2, he hates J. J. Abrams
What was the biggest complaint concerning TFA? That it had copied ANH too much. Rian's answer? He took elements from both ESB and RotJ, then subverted them. The most jarring example is the guy telling the audience that the white substance is not snow, but salt. That scene served no other purpose, than Rian saying "Ha, fooled you!"
Also, to these fans he says: you don't like political statements in your Star Wars? Here is a completely unnecessary subplot of rescuing animals, because fuck you, I'll even shoehorn a PETA ad in just to spite you!
The other point is Abrams. Abrams wrote TFA, going the safe route by copying ANH, but also added in a few things to build upon. But being the lazy hack he is, he just created the mysteries, and put it on Rian's shoulders to do something with them. Rian's answer? Let's see the three key points Abrams gave him: Rey handing Luke his lightsaber, Snoke's identity, and Rey's parents. Rian demolished all these points.
Giving the saber to Luke was the catharsis of TFA, a scene that was drawn out with a promise of something great. Rian's reaction: throwing that shit aside.
Snoke, who was built up as a powerful force user, never appearing in person in TFA, staying in the shadows and being overall mysterious. Rian discarded him without any fanfare.
How about an explanation on Rey's character? Surely her powers are not just coincidental, are they? They are, end of story, says Rian.
The Last Jedi is a beautiful tale of a furious man sacrificing a movie, to give a middle finger to both fans and his colleagues. That's dedication. I bet a well edited behind-the-scenes focused on Rian Johnson feelings while working on TLJ would be pure kino.

People are just fucking butthurt because none of the fan theories came to fruition - because they were all fucking predictable.

Rian Johnson fucked all of you, without a condom. And you are all upset because he came inside.

The only legit complaint is probably pacing a bit, but that’s literally it.

An edit that cut the casino subplot and quips would honestly be pretty decent

Ehy, you, fuck you

...

>The Hero is separated from The Hero's Friends most of the movie going on a Spiritual Journey to find The Old Master
>The Hero learns unconventional lessons from The Old Master that culminate in The Hero going under the tree/into the hole
>The Old Master dies and returns to The Force
>Meanwhile, The Hero's Friends are off in some extravagant city trying to save The Rebellion
>The Hero returns to face The Evil Apprentice
>The Evil Apprentice makes The Offer to The Hero, which The Hero refuses
>Big trench battle on snow planet between speeders and walkers where rebels end up running away
>Bait and switch with romantic interest between Rey and Boyunga
>Empire ends in a position of power, how will The Rebellion ever come back from this?
It's just a shittier ESB

>People are just fucking butthurt because none of the fan theories came to fruition
whatever helps you sleep at night

There is only one kino Star Wars movie and nothing in Nu Disney Star Wars is it.

>Big trench battle on snow planet between speeders and walkers where rebels end up running away
But it's salt.

Yeah, completely different! So different that Rian had a character lampshade it.

...

Unironically this.

Did you made this?

Pure kino masterpiece.

Just cut out that pointless Kylo/Rey/Luke shit and focus on the chase and Finn and Rose's casino adventures, and it's literally perfect.

...

Absolute kino.

>Nu Wars
>kino

This nigga

>no argument

Typical

What is kino?

I read this word a lot in Sup Forums

Shit tier bait. Underage probably at this point. You're lucky I'm bored right now and even acknowledging your existence. I have 2 hot babes ready for a threesome just waiting for me in a few hours. What will you be doing? Enjoying shit tier kino? Or how about posting a rare pepe? No, you'll be posting here whilst I'm fucking two beautiful chicks I'll grin and remember the faggot who thought that he had big dick cause he liked TLJ.
>"oh fuck user you're so hot and big"
>"so hot"
>"I'm gonna LITERALLY CUM"
Then when both of there c-cupped breasts lie upon my chest, the brunette will whisper
>"play some kino user"
The Blonde chuckles
>"yes user you always pick the best KINO"
Then I'll get up, start my film reel, and play the best film ever created....
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

>this is what millennials actually believe

The Last Jedi is.

Why do brainlets mean this is the best SW movie again?

Hey Disney, let this man to direct a Star Wars movie.

This is pretty accurate t b h
I was getting major BvS flashbacks when I watched TLJ

I Mean a definition of kino

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

where can I watch this streamed?

>Somehow wipes out all the turrets on the dreadnought by self.
>Tells bombers to come in and bomb the hell out of the dreadnought
>Bombers get decimated
>A lone bomber stands out and all fire is seemingly missing it
>No shoots fired from other ships
>the straggling bomber takes out the dreadnought in suicide mission
>Bomber fleet destroyed
>Poe is demoted but since he's the only squad captain left gets re-promoted
What was the point of destroying the dreadnought?
We have no clue what the significance of the dreadnought was/is. All we know is that it's big and scary. The scene was terrible at conveying the importance of the dreadnought. Not to mention. Poe wiped out the ENTIRE BOMBER FLEET just to get one dreadnought.

zack's body is still producing testosterone, not pure soy, no way they'd let him helm it

Same, way better than Rouge one and TFA.

Please I want a definition of kino

I went in disliking Rian, disliking TFA, hating RO, and generally expecting to hate TLJ. It ended up being the third best SW movie ever. I even used my moviepass so it's not like I'm trying to justify the ticket price to myself.

>tfw when no other star wars has had as much screen time in space
>tfw the three new characters each had separate plotlines but none of them were lacking and all impacted the overall plot
>tfw the 'jedi ideals betrayed' is utterly ludicrous since luke was a hero and not a saint
>tfw yoda was a puppet
>tfw the resistance plotline was speed in space
>tfw it was actually directed with some panache and not just the safe Spielberg/Abrams way

>tfw you worry about getting dementia since you apparently just watched a different movie from every single other person who's been talking about TLJ

German for cinema.

No user that's called stockholm syndrome.

No it’s called taste.

See you around, kid.

None of those things make it a good movie. What do you mean 3 new characters that impacted the plot? Only Holdo did. If the Finn and Rose plot was removed literally nothing about the movie would change.

Remember that retards hated ESB when it came out because it hurt their feefees. Same thing is happening here.

>none of them were lacking and all impacted the overall plot
What about the pointless casino subplot? You could cut the whole thing, have Finn use his Stormtrooper knowledge to make the infiltrate the Supremacy unsen, and you have the same movie, just 45 min less.
>tfw the 'jedi ideals betrayed' is utterly ludicrous since luke was a hero and not a saint
Luke was the guy who risked his own life because he sensed a glimmer of light in literal Space Hitler. Why would he want to kill his own nephew just because he has an emo phase?

>If the Finn and Rose plot was removed literally nothing about the movie would change.

t. brainlet who thinks the only reason for that plot thread existing was the hyperspace tracker

That's how I feel. I do wish Rey hooked up with Kylo and we got a subversion of expectations.

The next movie would be the first order and Kylo being tamed by good and Rey. The resistance would then be terrorist.

Rey would have to prevent 911 in space and end these "start wars'.

Something like that anyway.

Nah Finn and Rose were literally the reason Holdo had to wreck the SSSD due to fucking up with del Toro/Lando 2.0.

Force ghost Luke couldn't do anything to Ren physically. He knew his stalling actions were saving Ren from some last-ditch Resistance suicide mission.

does anyone have a webm of Yoda from TLJ?

Fucking this

>Luke was the guy who risked his own life because he sensed a glimmer of light in literal Space Hitler

Luke tried to kill Vader multiple times though. He never followed through with the temptation, but it was always there. Luke was tempted to take out Ben, but he didn't do it; only the problem here is that the temptation alone was enough to cause disaster.

KINO

Thanks user

gotg2 was visually more appealing and better directed

Contrarianism and rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.

Finn and Rose wouldn't even have to leave the ship if Holdo told her plans anyone. And it's not like she only kept it a secret from non-officers, because there were officers helping Poe with the mutiny too.

>Force ghost Luke couldn't do anything to Ren physically. He knew his stalling actions were saving Ren from some last-ditch Resistance suicide mission.
I was talking about when Ben was a kid and Luke felt something dark about him.

>better directed
wew

Nah. Not even Sup Forums would do this. It was simply a bad movie, even from a neutral perspective of someone who doesn't know star wars all that well. It was simply a disposable movie that would be forgotten in 5 years if it wasn't part of the star wars brand. It will be ironically liked like the prequels. Even my gf hated it without me influencing her opinion and she liked the prequels but didn't enjoy the original Trilogy. It felt like a Marvel movie.

Nothing about that shit was enjoyable. Same goes for this film.

yeah, pretty stupid.

but not nearly as stupid as finn and asain girls adventure of failure that achieves nothing but foiling the rebels plan to escape in transport ships.. getting most of them killed.

>It will be ironically liked like the prequels.
prequel appreciation is essential new sincerity-core, pleb. Irony is for cucks.

You're right it was there to shoehorn in that capitalism and animal cruelty is bad

The third time the story about young Kylo and Luke is legit the best part of the movie. Luke almost gives in to the dark side but resists it a final time. It literally explains all of his actions, in that he truly becomes a hero by resisting what seems to be the smart, but ethically wrong choice. The fact that his correct decision is punished by losing everything he worked for explains why he resists being a hero for most of the movie, worrying that it could happen again.

When did Luke try to kill Vader after the Bespin reveal?

I thought it would be good and it was shit so yeah you could say it subverted my expectations

>sincerity-core
>pleb
>cucks

It's the best besides Empire

He literally starts wacking into him after he threatens to get Leia to the dark side. Then he stops realising his mistake. It's almost like it set precedent for what happened in TLJ. Like... pottery...

are you forgetting the part in RotJ where Luke cut off Vader's arm, knocked him on his ass and had his lightsaber an inch away from his throat?

It rhymes...

unironically think that zack snyder would make a great star wars movie

Yes, the movie points out it was stupid. It echoes Rose explaining it's useless to destroy your ennemy if you can't save anyone

Yeah, they were in the middle of a battle and threatened his sister. Ben was asleep, and he went there on his own to kill him. And we are talking about an older, wiser Luke.
I mean that scene worked well, justifies Kylo's actions and is a nice twist, it just doesn't fit in what we know about Luke. Maybe if there was an interquel movie that elaborates on Luke's journey and the accident, it can work.

>The movie is good because it's unpredictable!

Stories can only be unpredictable once. For repeat viewings they need characters for the viewer to care about--which The Last Jedi doesn't have.

Which was pretty fucking stupid, since thatnks to Rose saving Finn, all the people in the trenches were cooked alive.

He didn't go there with the intent of killing him
jfc DID NOBODY ACTUALLY SEE THE MOVIE

>and he went there on his own to kill him.

that's literally not what happened, Luke went in there to read his mind/emotions and saw that Snoke had already poisoned him and that Ben was already fantasizing about murdering the rest of the students to become a dark lord

Now I'm mad Snoke got so unceremoniously killed. It would have been nice to see that poisoning in a little more detail.

"No!"

Lots can be said about the story and writing it seems.
Is the production value at least good?

extremely

There were some cool scenes.
Like when the Jedi fought the red guards.
Everything else blew.
