I watched TPM recently and it's really pretty decent. Sure it has its faults but it's better than anything from the PT and you know exactly what you're getting.

Good thread

Disney Soy Wars will NEVER have a scene as poweful as this.

75 Younglings disagree.
But I do suppose this movie has the high ground.
Come on, this movie had some great parts, but sucked ass like the other two prequels. The acting and shitty writing killed it hard, not to mention the fact that R2 and C-3PO were apparently on the Tantive IV for 30 years.

i first watched with german synchro and the voice acting is very on point
the original kinda sounds weak when comparing

Sheev is the only good thing about it. The rest is trash.

That's one of the reasons I didn't dislike the prequels so much when I saw them in theaters the first time. Italian voice actors manage to get rid of big part of the horrible acting I think

>Revenge of the Sith
Why Revenge? What did Jedi do to Sith? Sith started it.

>people starting to wake up from their Plinkett induced state of retardation

Well, I suppose I'm glad you figured it out after 10 fucking years.

TPM is a fun, good children's movie that kinda failed on some CGI and Jar-Jar Binks.

Adds a shitload to the Star Wars universe, lots of memorable moments, planets, tech. Lot of depth. Had a lot of good moment, most sequences were really good.

Plinkett just made up some bullshit arguments that are very easy to debunk.

Why did the Republic believe Palpatine when he said that the Jedi were evil and needed to be genocided?

>not to mention the fact that R2 and C-3PO were apparently on the Tantive IV for 30 years

What about when they were in Rogue One?

I'd kill 100 younglings for a season of Clone Wars episodes that take place during the film and recreate some of the scenes while adding new stuff.

It has more location variety in the first 15 minutes then TLJ in it's first hour.

RotS has the most rewatchability out of any of the films, but that doesn't make it the best

should've been the first of the prequels

I actually like this one less than I, II, 7, and R1.

This. II is complete shit though

But it was exceedingly childish and then unnecessarily drawn out at parts. The two don't mix well. I kind of wish George would make animated kids movies. He's clearly got a lot of imagination for it.

patrician rankings coming through

4>5>6>3>POWER GAP>1=2>POWER GAP>TFA>R1>TLJ

these contrarian troll threads pretending that the prequels were good are hilarious, keep them coming.

i completely agree

you're a fucking retard, bless your heart

>reddit video reviews dictate my opinions
the prequels weren't even hated until those videos were spread around

Yeah I know, the end of Rogue One actually made sense. In the end of Ep3, it literally shows them on the Tantive IV even though they would've been on the goddamned ship for 30 years unless it was just a giant coincidence.

Damn I wish I could watch them like that. A big part of why I hate them is Anakin's weak ass dialogue and acting. He was such a cheeseball bitch.

>R2 and C-3PO were apparently on the Tantive IV for 30 years.
Yes, and Leia grew up on the ship as well

Shut the fuck up, you idiot.

hit the nail on the head there, didn't I

To reply to myself and add something - Anakin should've been played by Chris Evans or some shit. He should've been this charismatic powerful Jedi leader, the Captain America of Jedi's, and his arrogance and love made him think he was too good for the Dark Side until Sheev ends up using those weaknesses against him.
Would've been so fucking kino.

distilled a pre-existing sentiment. they were not liked.

>the prequels weren't even hated until those videos were spread around

Goddamnit you're right.

thanks millennial, you're hilarious. I remember coming out of the cinema after EP2 with my friends all agreeing that Star Wars was dead. And how much everyone in the cinema laughed at Anakin's NOOOOOOO. You're bringing back some good memories of how shit those movies were.

No, you poor dumbass

5>3=6>4 for me, everytime I watch ANH I just think everything is super awkward, it's not that it's bad I just like all the others I listed better. All the other movies are shit.

op here i really enjoyed the clone wars too

have you seen the original ep IV or the one that Lucas fucked up twice?

Now that you mention it, I have no idea.

I unironically agree to some degree

It has kino scenes like the bubble opera scene, order 66 and the ending.

everytime I find myself sympathising with Lucas I remind myself he did this

Knew what this would be before I opened it
That score is beautiful, amazing how it mixes sadness and longing with a sense of dread for what Anakin's about to do

The series finale would have taken place during ROTS and focused on Ahsoka and Rex surviving Order 66 and the creation of the Empire. Filoni has talked about the premise of the final episodes but really none of the details have been revealed. I think the only reason it hasn't been made into a book yet is because Filoni is still holding out hope that he'll be able to animate it.

I will never forgive Disney for cancelling TCW.

Original is on the right.

This.

I guess you missed the sith genocide then.

It's nothing without Sheev.

I had my fingers crossed the whole time for Snoke to turns out to be Sheev but alas.

What's with the sudden influx of prequel apologist retards here? Is this Sup Forums or some reddit shit?
These movies are unsalvageable. They're so fundamentally broken in their narrative and dialogue, they cannot be fixed with clever editing like the original Star Wars was.

It isn't even as good as The Phantom Menace.

revenge of the sith is a poetic faustian masterpiece and blows the other prequel films out of the water

t. redditlettermedia shill

No, he's right. It's been going on since TFA. RLM even called the fandom the "contrarian Olympics". Absolutely spot on.

>my opinion is correct and anyone voicing disagreement is just a pretending contrarian

Oh the irony.

fuuuuuck so good

Wish the whole series had Genndy Tartovosky 2D animation like the original miniseries, it's hard to watch the awful 3D animation in this show

>people starting to wake up from their Plinkett induced state of retardation
Can't defend your favorite piece of shit to efend your life? Blame it on some review and pull ad hominems out of your ass. You're only pretending to like it, anyway.
You know, so the other contrarians think you fit in.

absolute shit taste

Yeah, but the genocide was done by Dark Jedi who would in time become the Sith. So it still doesn't make sense that they would seek revenge against the Jedi for shit they did.

I have never actually watched any of the Star Wars movies in entirety and I never actually intend to because I always found them to be fucking gay. I'm in my 30s. Fight me,

Oh sure, the movie is a disaster in terms of plot progression, logic, dialogue and poor editing, but the rewatchability and like, uh... it's memorable.

Neat. Who asked though?

>le reddit
Every person I've seen try to use this as an argument makes it incredibly evident that they come from there.

There's nothing good about the prequels, but stop pretending TFA was on Empire's level.
Hell even empire wasn't that good.
You're all just a bunch of spoiled brats who never grew up and still watch this horseshit.

>3=6>4
Notice the subtle attempt at bargaining from the half-retarded prequel apologist.

TPM is comfy but ROTS is the best of the PT and the best of the saga.

Garbage.

III > V > IV = VI > I > power gap > VII > R1 > II > power gap > VIII

This is what braindead shitposting looks like.

lol, on paper maybe, because the execution is terrible.

Not him but its ironic that you are calling him out for not "defending" his opinion while relaying entirely on Plinkett's bullshit.

this. Just re-watched I and II for the first time in a few years. They've gotten consistently worse with every viewing and I've never tried as hard to like these movies than with any others in my life.

It's hard to describe what the build-up to Phantom Menace and ultimate deflation was like in '99 but with hindsight the special editions were a big early warning.

I'm getting a Snyder fan retard vibe here. Notice the inadequate adjectives, failed attempts at circlejerking over garbage and general daftness.

It's hilarious how your only defense is mentioning Plinkett as if it invalidates any of the points made. You're a child lashing out at your own shortcomings.

But why are you confusing III with VIII?

What points?

Say what you want about the prequels - and no, I'm not apologizing for them - but at least they came from the heart of the original creator. They were disasters, but benign disasters.

They weren't filled with mary sues and political flagwaving. No feminist bullshit, no anti-white propaganda, no diversity quotas. Star Wars was pretty much apolitical (discounting the not!Nazi Empire). And even when it got political, it wasn't related to anything in the real world. But that's what Disney's trying to do: Transmorph ST into a current day political statement. Female leads, toxic masculinity, diversity driven bullshit etc. It's over.

So yes, I can't say I expected the day where I would defend the Prequels, but the social engineers of Disney and their callous disregard for anything holy about ST might just be the last incentive I need to turn into a fucking mass shooter.

The problem with TPM is that you could completely erase it from existence and Attack of the Clones would be unchanged.

AOTC, as bad as it is, is at least central to the plot in that it establishes how the Clones Wars came about, and how Anakin, a Jedi, went against his code and eventually became a father. TPM doesn't explain anything in the OT. How Palpatine became Chancellor and how Anakin became a Jedi has no direct impact on anything after the Prequels, the whole purpose of which is to expand on what Obi-wan told Luke about his past in ANH.

>mfw you have no argument so you keep going for poisoning the well and authority fallacy bullshit
Also I still see no argument, user.

Scroll up. My god, you're retarded. No wonder why you're defending these pieces of shit.

I watched ROTS again yesterday. After TLJ, this looks SO GOOD.

>but at least they came from the heart of the original creator.
So did The Room, this has no bearing in their quality. Find yourself a better argument.

You definitely are short a few neurons I can tell that much already.

>hurr plinkett's opinion is bullshit!!!
>I don't know what Plinkett said.
Can't make this shit up

>no argument of your own still

Wow, you really convinced me, I love the prequels now.
You can't be over 14.

It really is the worst form of projection on this entire site.

>getting this mad

My point was I'd take inaptitude over malcontent any day.

Is it even possible to find an original Ep 4 these days, or did Lucas have it memory-holed?

>tfw you can't discuss film to save your life so you resort to misapplying logical fallacies while beating around the bush
Sorry champ, I'm not reposting the same text 20 times until you decide to read it.
Also asking for arguments while presenting none isn't going to get you anywhere.
Let's hear a proper justification of those prequel accidents. Bonus points if you don't use Plinkett as a scapegoat for how miserable they are.

I'm not even the user you were talking to.

If you honestly think that the hatred for the prequels started from a review Plinkett did in fucking 2009 for a film made in 1999 then you are beyond retarded. You obviously have an internet connection, and can easily go and read the reviews for it. Here's a hint: almost nobody fucking liked the film save for diehard fans.

Sheevfags may as well get a containment board like /mlp/

Where is your argument?

hahaha ya, so epix with the lightsaber dance and when vador sez no i clapped and i shidded in my pants abit.

>I

>II

>III
5/10
>IV

>V

>VI
1/10
>VII
2/10 (point added for Adam Driver's performance)

>being this underage

pains me to say but yes the phantom menace is the only film in the trilogy that even comes close to capturing the essence of star wars despite being complete gutter trash. the other two are absolutely shameful and only enjoyable through a hate-watch with a friend who feels the same way.

Attack of the Clones is the worst movie I've ever watched in my 25 years

>misapplying logical fallacies
>this absolutely LEVEL of mental gymnastics
El oh fucking el
Try harder, sweetie.

And I'd take a mediocre movie directed by committee over a terrible auteur project any day.
