They did the same thing always sunny did.
Robert Downey Jr. in blackface isn't supposed to be a black man, he's an actor who's doing blackface.
That's the only way you can get away with it

I never understood why he adopted the kid that brought him the doll

he was mentally unstable and finally broke after the kid brought him the makeshift Oscar doll because he had never won an Oscar

This came out nearly 20 years ago.

Can’t fool me, I’ve rewatched 30 Rock about 3 times now and know the difference

Not a movie, but I was thinking recently about how I've not seen a British comedy act do a crossdressing thing in a while. It used to be a great British tradition, Monty Python being an obvious example, but more recent ones like Mitchell and Webb have had drag characters too. The most recent I can think of was Cardinal Burns in about 2014. I think you probably can\t get away with it anymore.

The league of gentlemen

Did you watch it on Netflix?

Another good one, which i hear they're rebooting. Also had the most recent example of black face I can remember, which is funny because ti was Mark Gatiss who's now popular on Tumblr for co-writing Sherlock.

All in the Family
Too Close For Comfort
and any other based 70-80s sitcom

by being ironic about it

Honestly being the first time I saw RDJ in a film I thought he was a legitimate black man

Until he removes the make up then I though he was Australian
