Which tv/movie has the most realistic portrayal of the Roman Empire?

>they didn’t have flat tops in Ancient Rome
The Sopranos

Quick, friends. I need a historical show to start marathoning. I, Claudius looks too corny, and I watched Rome, Carnivale and Deadwood recently. Can't think of any quality historic show to watch.

>historic show

Be more specific. What eras are you looking for?

I, Claudius too corny? Your pleb is showing.

>i have come to reclaim Rome!

none of them are even remotely realistic

The Last Kingdom

All of them.

The Pacific, Band of Brothers, Mad Men, Generation Kill

Generation Kill is by far the best of these 4, and it's also the only that doesn't fit.

I Claudius is top kino.

It's very realistic and placed in its time frame. 2003 was 15 years ago, which means it is entering the realm of history.

pillars of the earth is extremely good, Wolf Hall if you like the period is amazing also.

>quality historic show

i couldn't get into i claudius either, but luckily it was based on a book.

Shit, yeah. 25 years(a generation, lel) is considered history innit?

>pillars of the earth
This looks neat. Forgot to mention also watched Wolf Hall recently which is top tier.

>I Claudius is too corny
There's no hope for you user

Tudors
Borgia
Medici
Spartacus
Vikings

Frontier

Fall of Eagles

Absolutely repulsive list. Not a single watchable thing in this trashcan.

Faggot

...

I dunno, Tudors is okay.

Fight through the first episode of I, Claudius and you'll get hooked. Otherwise, for more Rome, try Spartacus. It's very different from HBO's Rome, though.

I, Claudius
Gladiator

Three Kingdoms

>eeeeehhhwaaaahhhweeeeeewoooooaaaahweeeeh
>My name is Uhtred son of Uhtred, who was the son of Uhtred and his father was also called Uhtred. I was born a Saxon but raised a Dane.

CREME-WELL

Is it actually good? I read the book and thought it was meh, watched two episodes and it was worse than the book.
