The Director was given the characters, the previous movie plot, and told to fucking do whatever.

Forget about the books, bringing Yoda back as a spirit is dumb as fuck.

The point at the end of Jedi is that Yoda, Obi and Vader are at peace. Their souls can move on, reincarnate.

What a fucking hack script

No, no, now they're just force ghostnprojections and can do anything human beings do in day to day SW life. Dying is meaningless.

I love how yoda acts like his fake persona from empire because noone rewatched the classics and just went with their memories

It would have been cool if Yoda actually gave him some sage advice instead of "lol imma burn down the tree and destroy the sacred books who cares"
It felt like Yoda was never even there. He wasn't acting like Yoda at all.

The people who run the movie industry are communists

what are you talking about? he knew the books werent in the tree

Stalin would never pander to feminists

Let's all watch the scene together and be in awe at how anyone can make Last Jedi.

Its dog shit. Luke did it exactly right in the OT. The lightsaber is used for defense while he influenced his father to return to good. Manipulation is also used as the mind trick to avoid a fight. Even the force push push is defensive.

They want to rebrand the idea of "good" to be jihad, hunting heretics and forced equality.

That's what's annoying.

>People saying it's "faithful" because Yoda in TLJ behaves like an annoying, obnoxious swamp-gremlin again.
>Forgetting that this was a fucking PERSONA he adopted before Luke knew who he was because he was fucking with Luke...

Sigh.

How don't people realize Yoda acting like a retard was a test to see if Luke had patience?
It baffles me.

I didn't think it was that bad, it kinda made sense to me that once Yoda became one with the force and left wordly concerns behind he would become one of those old guys who just doesn't give a fuck anymore and laughs at people who do. Yeah the laugh was overdone but the puppet and voice work felt so much more like the OT Yoda than the prequels one that I guess I was willing to overlook it.

I don't know why he wanted to burn the tree or encourage this idea that the past should be forgotten and the Jedi should end though. It seems like Johnson wanted that to be a core theme of his story but then forgot to tell anyone why it would be a good thing.

There are different flavors of communists

Because the other option is to exterminate every single nazi and make sure they never comeback. Life's tough being an empire fag

He looked like ass as well

FUCKING DROPTHED

Dude, they didn't watch or care about the old movies, I've seen the argument of "luke throws his lightsaber in return of the jedi too therefore giving up is in character" so many times it hurst me

I have a question if he could all this shit why isnt he the one helping the rebellion. He could just take lukes place in the force projection scene.

and frank oz phoned it in

I hope luke and yoda return in the next movie and heckle kylo the entire time he's on screen.

so .. should i find and watch some camrip like with tfa and r1 or should just skip it?

>this guy doesn't realize that TLJ was written long before TFA came out
>he thinks you can 'do whatever' under Kathleen Kennedy's command, even though the last director was basically fired for saying that Luke should actually do something and not be a cuck

>Kathleen Kennedy
is she that powerfool? isnt she just sw-fans' boogywoman?

I wouldn't even watch it if I could turn back time

It had such a hopeless vibe to it at the end, to the point that I was depressed for 3-4 days after watching it

Only way to redeem this trilogy.
Force Luke bitching at Kylo for killing him while Kylo is all like "FFS Uncle I don't even know you died!"
All while Yoda is giggling off to the side like a retard.

I love how you parrot RLM's opinions and pass them on as your own.

I don't watch reddit letter media, I assumed they would love this movie for being BRAVE and POWERFUL

Yes.

so maybe he was fucking with luke again in tlj? he adopted that same persona to remind luke what happened the first time they met... although going serious after that would have justified it better

>rlm not being mysogynistic
>trying this hard to be a contrarian contrarian

Young men with bad looks
Killed out Han, gayfied the wookies
Treated us like Alderaan town
They called us up and deathstared us down

He knew the books weren't in the tree dumbass.

You take these things way too seriously.

This shitty scene was probably the best part of the whole movie.

Another retard outted as a massive philistine by GOAT TLJ.

Yoda knew the books weren't in the tree. He did it to help Luke get over his demons, plebicite.

You do know he was testing him here too right? He even gives him a lesson at the end.

You're all just a bunch of white supremisist nazis if you don't think this is the best and most diverse star wars ever.

I don't believe that, disney's executives would never let a director whatever, that is the real problem with movies nowadays.

Holy Shit le 56% face Star Wars protag. This franchise is fucking dead.

No really.

I figured that yoda was an annoying gremlin by default and then acted serious when the situation was serious.

It's probably the second best desu. The only issue I had with it was the useless casino side plot.

I get if hardcore Star Wars fans feel betrayed, but it's a legit good movie.

This. Was I the only one left feeling confused by this? Why is everyone praising this Yoda as being the accurate to the OT, unlike the prequels when this Yoda was a fake Yoda in order to test Luke? Why did the redditors go all giddy on this?

>unofficial commentary of Hamill and Oz heckling the sequel trilogy in character
hell I’d pay for that

Yoda probably knew that the books weren't in the tree, and were in fact in Rey's bag.

I don't watch them faggot, how the fuck would I know if they hate women or not? From what I heard here they loved tfa and hate the prequels, so I just assumed tlj would be right up their alley since it's all about breaking away from the past

someone please post more of those

I watch RedLetterMedia too

...

>I watch RedditLetterMedia too

Same reason why everyone jokes about stormtroopers having bad aim when the plan was to let them escape on the milennium falcon so they could track them back to the rebel base. Everyone was either too young or dumb when they watched the movies, if they did at all, and only remembers it through pop culture.

So Yoda acts like a retard every time he gives a test? Finals week at the jedi academy must have been nuts. The act doesn't have a purpose when you know it's an act.

She has the final say, and she's also the one who said that they would work together with Lucas with his scripts for VII VIII and IX but then she didn't follow through at all.

If you read some Hamill interviews he basically says he was on the same page with the last director and everything seemed to going great.. until he got fired

>..during preproduction on Episode IX, Trevorrow’s relationship with Lucasfilm top brass became reportedly “unmanageable” over the course of “repeated stabs at multiple drafts” of the script.

>“He’s a difficult guy. He’s really, really, really confident. Let’s call it that.”

Yoda actually made a solid point. Showing Luke that the force doesn't begin and end with him, and that thinking he can just "end the Jedi" is pure hubris. The books and the ancient temple don't fucking matter; the force is in everyone and everything.

I would rather not have seen Yoda at all but all things considered, I don't have a problem with that specifically.

Luke was being a mopey cynical sack of shit. You don't see how jokinh around would alleviate this? This time it did have a purpose.

Star Wars was a big part of my childhood, and what they did to Luke plus watching the entire rebellion die because of bad decisions.. I dunno, it kind of broke the illusion of Star Wars and fiction in general.. I know it's just a movie, and to be honest I didn't think I still cared about Star Wars enough to generate these feels.. but I do.. or rather, I did.

I dunno I've never been that attached to fiction. Not even the childhood stuff. It was all just cool stories to me.

He looks dank as fuck in the right.

I don't fucking know man

the empire just bounced back like fucking magic and it's like RotJ never happened

and we will never know why

The idea was that the Senate was incompetent, like it always was.

>every rlm cuck bitching about use the same robe obiwan wore in the tatooine desert and the one jedi wear as an official garment
>yoda also wears the same shit

better buy the six billion comics and novels that came out in the last couple of years then

incompetent dictatorship takes over incompetent democracy

then the opposite happens

then it happens again

this is star wars basically

Sebastian Shaw as Anakin also wore it at the end of rotj, I always just assumed jedi wore simple robes as a statement on humility much like monks
RLM also complained that "seeing yoda train a bunch of kids undermined the importance of being trained by yoda" in the prequels, but yoda does mention that he trained jedis for 800 years in Empire
Yet they never mention the one actual glaring contradiction, that Leia mentions knowing her real mother

Vader could resurrected padamei.

You're getting close, user. Not Communists but the force that created Communism.

Then just tell Luke or tell him something unrelated. The way it is, Yoda stayed away for 30 years, only to come back now to troll Luke. The dude saved the Galaxy.

Um, like, Yoda was like, testing Luke still.

ooooooooh lukefags are a sensitive bunch

jar jar binks

Everyone gets a different test

No, Rian still had to report to this creepy "Story Team" full of middle-aged cat-lady scumblrs.

Goddamnit I hated that I love this franchise that is being ruined by these fucks

>self insert of the main writer doesn't discuss things, she gives orders and expect others to follow them blindly
it makes sense, all of it
