There's too little time. And Genny seems hell bent on rushed story telling, and superfluous scenes of Ashi being awesome.
So doing something cool with Scaramouch seems out of the question. But since he's gotten the sword back, it leads us to wonder WHY half an episode was wasted on him trying to tell Aku.
