Aku and the Gods

>You have been chosen to deal with the ultimate evil

>Ultimate Evil

Is he, though? I always got the impression that Aku was a Big fish in a small pond. Not really to big of a deal in the cosmic sense.

BIRTH
OF
EVIL

He is LITERALLY a chunk of the universes greatest source of evil, and the rest of it is all gone. If left to fester it will return to it's full power and once again bring horror to the grander cosmos.

So are there like... 2 swords now?

This. I binge watched the entire series before moving onto S5 for a reason, why can't everyone just do that.

A piece of the evil broke off and turned into Aku.
Jack is just dealing with the leftovers.

No. The sword was taken away by the gods and now that he's balanced again they've given it back.

Aku is a small piece of the force of evil that the gods fought years ago. Since his influence is limited to earth, they don't really give a shit. They gave the humans a magic sword and told them to deal with the problem.

Nothing impedes Aku from "growing" back into his former being, but his sense of self has evolved into general petiness and self indulgence.

However, with inmortality and minions at his beck and call he's spread evil in another way other than consumption: conquest.

People forget that Aku has conquered planets by the end of the original series. He's spreading himself accross the cosmos as a mortal threat. So the gods let the mortals deal with it.

you would think the gods would just come down and smite him again instead of watching everybody flail about helplessly

More importantly, are they gonna explain what happened to this guy?

He is going to show up on the epilogue.

Considering that the fucking flash foward showed Jack as an oldman.

Aku is Griffith. An ascended being who could be yukking it up in the deepest pit of hate, or wherever the fuck, but chooses to rule over mortals for his own reasons.

Nigga, Aku is stated to be the ultimate evil hundreds of times in the series.
Did you even watch the show?

Aku is hardly a big threat. He got his ass beat by elementals.

>hardly a big threat
>took over Earth and has his influence spreading to other planets

But Aku needs no ryhme or reason. He is evil and doesn't hide behind paper thin beliefs to say he is justice.

Hardly a threat for the gods to takes this matter personaly, leaving a human to do it yes.

If Aku was ever a true threat to existence itself then the gods would take this matter personaly, like they did with the Pimordial Darkness Aku is part of.

Would've been neat if they either gave him samurai armor like his father, or increased the sword's strength with the addition of a portion from Jack's heart/soul.

>the rest of it is all gone

Is it? I was under the impression that the gods were still fighting it and that was the reason humanity had to handle Aku on our own.

>Implying

There are creatures on earth stronger than him.

He allows refugees from other worlds onto earth.

It's implied he only controls earth

We literally see the rest of it fizzle into nothingness before the last limb falls.

That's clearly the way to go. I loathe every Sup Forumsmrades that asked which episodes to skip so they can get to S5 faster.

All the more reason they should be dealing with Aku
