Yes

Obviously

Fucking atrocious.

or

Kafkaesque

It was meh

It's objectively a well-shot and constructed film, the points of contention revolve around characterization of the OT characters, the runtime and whether or not the """"reddit humor"""" detracts from the movie

anyone who complains about "muh hyperspace physics muh bombs dropping" is a pedantic autist not worth arguing with

Its so bad, it killed the entire franchise. SW is dead and the killer is TLJ.

Mixed reactions to be honest, I hated the liberal undertones but before you anons call me a rascist, know that my favorite character in the sequel trilogy is probably Poe. I also believe that Finn should have had force potential and more emphasis on his stormtrooper background rather than the Ladt Jedi almost completely ignoring it.

It's a decent movie inside of a bad movie. It's like they wrote a pretty good script and sent it to Disney execs who said "this is great but it's only 50% done! we need unfunny quips after every single line and then it will be finished!"

>anyone who complains about "muh hyperspace physics muh bombs dropping" is a pedantic autist not worth arguing with

Bitch, dont you know that hyperspace ramming entire fleets and capital ships to death kills off any tension of the big bad enemies being powerfull? It reduces the threat from deathstars in the OT from legitemate objects to be feared, into jokes because you can just strap a second-hand FTL to an asteroid and destroy them with ease.

So it IS a problem you moronic nigger.

It fucking owns just throw away your preconceptions and """""theories"""""

that's like saying LotR sucks because they could have just flown the Eagles to Mordor

Fuck off shill and/or brainlet.

STA WAS

Nah that's just retarded, I'm going to go ahead and assume that confused frodo forced meme was disney shills shitting on a better franchise, considering the transparent damage control you guys have been doing here these weeks

Eat shit alt-right shitlord.

Both

Between light and darkness there is balance

Get cancer and suffer from it liberetard.

test

Abysmal script, abysmal plot, abysmal acting

YOU are cancer trumpsucker

Gad.

And sad.

Gad Saad

It's okay, just not on the level of TFA or the prequels.

6/10, I basically like it.

most of the film is decent.

Act I, introduce rebels and premise, cool space battle, Kylo Ren dramatically tries to gun down his mum, good times with Luke and Rey. 8/10

Act II(A): things heat up with Rey and Luke, Kylo Ren/Rey interactions at the same time. Best character work in the movie, very good. Rey eventually meets Ben and a very cool fight scene occurs in Snoke's throne room 8/10

Act II(B): rebels flee First Order. Nothing makes sense. Pointless Casino Plot. Commander Koldo tells no one her plans. Go to find a master hacker, get tossed in jail, find DIFFERENT HACKER APPARENTLY AT RANDOM KILL ME 2/10

Act III, all comes down to pretty cool planet with great aesthetics, some weird plot stuff but not too agregious, good Luke/Ben duel, underwhelming conclusion with Rey, 7/10

It's be a good Star Wars movie if they had any idea whatsoever of what Poe and Finn were supposed to be doing in Act II. They clearly did not. This is one quarter of the movie. You will notice most of the criticism for the film that isn't fucking dumb is directed at this section of the film, where Finn and Poe are on the run from the First Order and basically accomplish nothing of interest.

Says the mentaly crippled cuck, go and watch your sister get railed by a pack of niggers.

Acting isn't bad actually. Daisy is in better form. Everything else is what it is.......not very good.

I'd watch the super fan edit where it just shows the scenes with Kylo and Rey. The Throne scene is probably the best in the entire new trilogy and will probably stay the best scene even after Ep IX comes out.

...

Everyone makes stupid decisions: the movie

And throw in the political agenda

But those movies are all awful.

As good as the prequels.

TFA isn't that great but it's easily the best nu-wars movie.

>Eagles are a separate force that occasionally agree to get involved. They have star trek federation tier bureaucractic laws about when they can and can't interfere
>Hyperspace ramming is something any rebel ship is capable of. Hyperdrives are ubiquitous easily accessable in the starwars universe

To be honest it's closer to gandalf forgetting that his staff can emit light that repels fell beasts. Except instead of just gandalf, literally everyone has them, and instead of repelling one unit in the enemy army, they destroy the entire enemy army.

I clicked on this thread hoping to see some NaziPorgs I'm disappointed.

I maintain Mark was addressing the director each time he said these lines.

That's not a bad idea. I doubt much is lost if all you show of the entire casino arc is Finn and Rose getting tossed into jail with the hacker, and then him walking out with them.

I also suspect that Leia's injury might be possible to entirely remove from the script, since she's basically fine once she wakes up.

You could probably cut a whole 40 or 50 minutes of content there to about 5 or 10 minutes. Show Kylo Ren attacking the cap ship and not shooting Leia, meet Rose, vaguely establish the plan to infiltrate the cap ship, do a little bit of that whole song and dance on the ship, maybe do the decent scene with Benecio Del Toro about how there's no good or bad, cut Koldo almost completely from the script...seems do-able. It really all only serves to create enough chaos for Rey to escape after the conflict in Snoke's throne room.

Except it's not.

>it's easily the best nu-wars movie
But I've always been against nu-wars, I don't really like these new movies.

Could've cut the entire gook+finn story and replace it with the backstory of Snoke before Kylo kills him. Or use those 50 mins to have Kylo and Rey actually join together and forge their own destiny away from the First Order and the Resistance. Instead we go the shit show after the throne scene. Such a waste.

I meant by nu-wars the new trilogy.

Funniest star wars ever

>Could've cut the entire gook+finn story
that's not really an option user. you aren't really allowed to outright cut the main character of your last film in a normal movie.

Kylo and Rey are clearly the main characters, Finn is simply a token like Lando. Except Lando was a great supporting character where as Finn is not. The only plotline I cared about was ruined by TLJ so I don't give a fuck anymore. Adam Driver deserves better than Star Wars.

It's a fine movie if you just casually like a Star Wars movie. It's not good at all if you're actually a big Star Wars fan, though.

>anyone who complains about "muh hyperspace physics muh bombs dropping" is a pedantic autist not worth arguing with

>getting upset about a casually introduced world-breaking plot device that undermines the entire titular concept of "Star Wars" is pedantic

>Kylo and Rey are clearly the main characters
Finn literally shows up before Rey and probably has equal screen time. He's also, pro tip, a MUCH MORE interesting character in TFA. His arc about finding his courage and the things he cares about and not running away, it's much more compelling than the arc that Rey basically doesn't have in TFA.

Finn got his development in 7, and Rey got her's more in 8, but neither can be outright DROPPED from either film.

this post was for you

JarJar got a ton of screen time in Ep 1 and he was dropped like a fucking bad habit in Ep 2 and 3. Finn is just a supporting character that got way too much fucking screen time because JJ is a hack director and writer.

You mean the film's crushing and arbitrary meaninglessness?

That's about right actually

Prolly the only decent SW movie next to R1. Shame about all the filler or Super Leila shit though.

>His arc about finding his courage and the things bla bla
no thanks brother il take the jedi and sith angsty romance

it's kino, but the brainlets here will never tell you that

Its better than TFA in almost all aspects.
Note: i was never a OT fanboy, i liked Obiwan in the prequels more than Luke so im not really miffed by Luke's fate.

I thought it was fitting, and very dramatic for him to end that way, in a way, just like his father.

I thought it was pretty bad, the more time went on the more I disliked it. It's not just one or two flaws it's riddled with them ontop of feeling nothing like a SW movie. It almost comes across as a parody

If your just a fan of nuwars then you might like it but OT/PT fans are more than likely going to dislike or flat out hate it

>Finn is just a supporting character
You're like, objectively wrong by any reasonable metric. You are certainly allowed to say you don't like Finn, but Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren receive about equal attention in TFA, with Rey frankly receiving the least quality characterization.

This movie had a strong Rey/Kylo plot and the plot with Finn was terrible, but that does not revoke Finn's status as a main character, nor does it make him a bad character. It means the TLJ writing around Finn was fucking incompetent.

Jarjar was a meme with no character arc designed to sell toys. Finn is probably the strongest character in TFA.

cool that wasn't in TFA so there's no conflict in our views

>Finn is probably the strongest character in TFA.
Ok I get your obsession with the BBC but Kylo is the strongest character in TFA and TLJ. Finn is not a Han Solo, or a Leia he is fucking Lando. Lando got tons of screen time in RotJ but hes still a supporting character. His god awful story line and zero character progression in TLJ is proof of that.

RAPISTS (aka #YesAllMen) BTFO
IT'S HER TURN
THE FORCE IS FEMALE
#MeToo
#RoseArmy

theres no where to progress, his character is a dead end after TFA.

Thank you for supporting my fact that he is a supporting character and not a main character. Pulls the same "do something courageous at the end" in both movies. We knew he was a coward and he finds his courage at the end of TFA, so then again in TLJ he "finds" his courage then gets cucked by gookfu.

that's literally been a meme years before disney bought star wars

denofgeek.com/us/movies/star-wars/269657/toxic-masculinity-is-the-true-villain-of-star-wars-the-last-jedi

>In The Last Jedi, Poe is presented as a character who needs to stop with the mansplaining and learn from the more seasoned female leaders in his life.
>"Not every problem can be solved by jumping in an X-Wing and blowing stuff up," Leia tells Poe before demoting him.
>Kylo Ren cannot deal with Luke's betrayal or the murder of his father. He cannot face the things he has done. Kylo Ren is unable to take even the smallest amount of accountability for murdering his classmates, his father, and much of the galaxy. He is scary because he reminds us of the real-world men whose anger and frustration and sadness have curdled into something ugly inside of them, causing them to lash out at those they perceive to have robbed them of what they deserve.
>The emotional labor necessary for both Luke and Kylo Ren to work through their issues is undertaken by a woman: Rey.
>The showdown between Kylo and Luke is a pissing contest
>Leia doesn't need to use the Force; she already has a superpower: her vagina.
>The decision that is best for the group is the one made by the group and its womyn leaders, not by the alpha male hero who thinks he knows best.
>Hundreds of people die because Poe had visions of glory.
>The Last Jedi is a step in the right direction when it comes to gender diversity because it refuses to create unrealistic, harmful expectations by glorifying male heroes. True gender diversity in media and in real life will come by recognizing that the system of patriarchy we live in benefits no oneā€”not even the Poe Damerons of the world.
>It is a deeply empathetic story that explores the dangers of toxic masculinity, the competency of women, and the boxes we all must break out of to be free.

HOW WILL MEN EVER RECOVER

>"Not every problem can be solved by jumping in an X-Wing and blowing stuff up," Leia tells Poe before demoting him.
I like how 2 minutes after telling Poe this she agrees with his plan to "blow stuff up" once they get caught by the First Order because the entire resistance is led my incompetent women.

cool talk Sup Forumsfriend you spewing about BBC is certainly strengthening your argument

His awful story line is proof that Johnson had a vision for the Rey/Kylo side of things and didn't have any ideas for Finn. But desu the most emotionally stirring moment of the new trilogy for me was the first 5 minutes, with Finn reeling in shock at the death of his stormtrooper friend during the First Order raid.

Lando shows up halfway through the second film, he is a supporting character.

Rey is the Luke analog, as chief force sensitive protagonist, Ren is the Vader analog, a dark conflicted figure with a deep connection to Rey, and you can bet your ass that Finn is a Han stand in, as the morally dubious side figure that tries to run away in the original film but returns and supports Luke in the end. You may notice that Han ALSO has no character development in Empire, but he had a good character drama thing going so nobody cared. The Rose/Finn romance has shit writing and the the Han/Leia romance is iconic and has 2 characters we care about.

Finn is a main character, as Han is. Rey/Luke is the protagonist figure, is the distinction.

just as long as he wept for the lost potential of all those white males who could have chosen to learn feminism. otherwise he needs to die in IX for the sake of empathy.

You know the distinction between Landos choice after seeing his best friend get captured and frozen? He risks his life to right his wrong. Finn simply gets upset and finds the first opportunity to save his own life. Finn is a shitty token Lando and nothing you say will change that fact.

Soy Wars: The Last SJW

bugmen like it

the most beautiful star wars movie ever. I guess there's a balance as it is the worst, the phantom menace is a masterpiece of exposition and storytelling compared to this.

The chase scene in TLJ reminded me of this Deadpool scene.

It's a fun Disney movie, but it's a terrible Star Wars film.

It's pure shit.

Don't you mean
>Soy Wars: The Last White Man

>it's time.... for the white man... to end.

i'm with you
hacker del toro was ok imho
but that casino planet was Dexter Jester 50's diner tier

Poe is played by the only competent actor of the younger cast members, it's a pretty easy pick as favourite new character since ridley and boyega are fucking awful and talentless
If anything I believe Oscar Isaac could bring so much more to the table if the script wasn't complete and utter garbage too

b but there is a white boi at the end with a sword and a ring. He will save the galaxy from all this incompetence

What the fuck are you talking about? Are...are you referring to the opening scene of TFA, or to Rey's capture?

His stormtrooper friend is fucking dead so faulting Finn for not going on a heroic quest to save him is retarded.

And Finn DOES go on a quest to save Rey. Like, that happens. Kylo captures Rey, they go to the superweapon, and then Finn goes to the superweapon to find Rey with Han. That's the plot. Whatever event you're talking about, with Finn abandoning a friend in dire need, that didn't happen in the movie.

Also is your whole Lando=Finn argument based on the fact that they both saw a friend get captured and react? The fuck? You understand Han has almost the exact same dilemna at the end of New Hope, right? He can leave Luke to his fate and run, or he can stay and try to redeem himself a bit.

who's Koldo>

You're the dumbest mother fucker i've seen on Sup Forums in a long time.

Mordor had Wyverns (inb4 some d&d autist replies with the correct kind of flying evil beast) that could have shot the eagles down
Flying them part ways would have attracted unwanted attention from Sauron
Meanwhile as per TLJ, every space battle ever has been retarded since they could just hyperdrive droid ships into each other and win

>only gay men have emotions
>men who wear long hair and robes are gay and/or trannies

is this problematic Sup Forums

It's bad, basically same shit as EP7 but they added more jokes and "shocks" to keep your attention.

>queer femmes can be angry and violent also REEEEEE FUCK YOU DRINK BLEACH REEEEEE DISMANTLE YOURSELF REEEEE

Kylo Ren is good. Finn and Porgs are okay. The rest sucks

3.5/10

yes
i was pleasantly surprised
i read the spoilers here before tho

(this is what set the other tranny off)

also
>Kylo Ren is a neo-nazi allegory
>I'm twitter naming myself after him but it's okay because I put tumblrsexual buzzwords before it so don't you dare imply I'm to the right of Pol Pot

commander purple hair

just to quickly chronicle your argument
>Finn is a support character cuz he's like Jar Jar, no, he's like Lando
>BIG BLACK COCKS
>Finn is Lando cuz they both see friends get captured and do things
>but you don't like what Finn does that's different from Lando, making him a BAD Lando
>more insults when I point out your argument is fucking retardese

You've really raised the level of discourse on Sup Forums today, user.

PS,
this post didn't say that Finn was a supporting character, but you autistically took any small positive comment as full-throated support. It's kinda cute. Also referring to your opinion as fact, that's the good shit.

It's a masterpiece if you like anal sex with all the diseases and it's an atrocious movie if you like wine with cheese

i like OT
i dislike PT
TFA was meh
RO was interesting
TLJ is ok
a bit too fast paced for SW and the plot ends in quasi status quo but i'll keep giving money to the mouse for Solo and Ep IX

You're descent into autism is very interesting to watch. Please continue with how Finn is a pivotal character with deep character progression and how his story impacts the overall plot.

To be fair this person is clearly using "queer femme kylo ren" as a joke thowards the other person they are arguing with

The last jedi not only ruins all future STAR WARS movies, it also retroactively ruins the past films and makes them all look like idiots.

>A New Hope - "Sir we've worked out the final plan for the assault on the death star and it will be risky and cost many lives but it migh-" "Just Hyperspace-Ram it"

>Empire - "Sir the troops are ready for the ground assault on Hoth, walkers are ready to deploy" "Just Hyperspace-Ram the shield generator from orbit then Hyperspace-ram the rebel base. Boom. All the rebels will be dead before they can evacuate, war is over, and we never had to do a ground assault"

>Jedi - "Sir they built a new death star and it's even bigg-" "Just Hyperspace-Ram it" "But sir it's surrounded by a shield from the Endor moo-" "Just hyperspace ram the endor Moon until you take out the shield generator, Ewoks are collateral damage, then hyperspace ram the new death star"

>Phantom Menace - "Annakin you have to take out that droid controller" "Just hyperspace ram it"

>Rogue One - "We have to take down that shield generator!" "Just hyperspace ra- actually you know what were going to just hyperspace ram the death star anyway so we don't even need these stupid plans. Lets get out of here everybody."

>TFA - My god they built an even BIGGER death sta-" "Just hyperspace ram it"

From now on, in every star wars movie ever made, every single time there is a massive fleet, large base or battlestation everyone watching will be thinking. "Why don't they just hyperspace-ram it". Johnson did this to the entire star wars cinematic universe, forever, for the sake of a ten second shot that "looked cool".

>It's objectively a well-shot and constructed film

Actually no. Well constructed if you mean sets, CGI and costumes, but the script is a complete mess.

what happens if you combine hyperspace ramming with spinning? is it two good tricks or a good trick cubed?

Thanks so much for this screening guys, I'm a huge fan. I don't have much time left but at least I'm going to find out the answers to some of the questions everyone has after The Force Awakens. I can't wait to find out the story behind Snoke, who he is, where he came from, how did he get so powerful in so short an amount of time after RotJ, is he related somehow to a previous sith? I'm sure his origins will be very interesting. Oh and I can't wait to learn more about the Knights of Ren, they really hinted how important they were with that one scene in TPM at Luke's academy. Can't wait to see how they followed up on that. And speaking of Luke I've been dying to find out what could cause someone as good and as resolute as him to just disappear, I mean he even went to the death star to redeem his father who was one of the most evil men who ever lived. If he went to that island he must have had a damn good reason, he wouldn't have just given up and let his friends and everything he fought for be torn apart, that's just not in his character. It will be exciting to see the real reason. And how did his lightsaber end up in that chest? I thought about it a lot and couldn't figure it out since he dropped it into the pit in cloud city. Should be real interesting. I love Phasma too, is she one of the Knights of Ren? I'm sure we'll learn more about her backstory. And of course Rey's parentage! I've been talking about that to all the people at the hospital here and everyone has a different theory, that she's Luke's daughter, that she's Han and Leia's kid somehow, that she's Obi Wan's granddaughter, that she's a forgotten clone of Palpatine, so many theories, I mean she has to be related to someone with all that buildup and foreshadowing and the way she dreamed of the Island, her connection with Luke, the way she experienced Luke's memories when she touched his lightsaber, it's obvious! Well enough talk, lets get this show on the road. May the force be with you!

go cry about it where someone cares

you should stop posting
