I hope it isn't some shitty generic scene where it's like
>YOU HAVE TO DO IT JACK
>"BUT I CAN'T, I NEED YOU"
>JU...JUST GO JACK
>tears
>more tears
>50 years have passed but i didn't fugg

But honestly, after last episode I can't put it past Genndy to write something exactly like that. Romance isn't his strong suit, he wrote it with the grace of a 1 legged man riding a unicycle

Last episode was pretty great, though.

Is Jack still with the going to the past thing? I know he says it on the intro but Aku destroyed all the portals and killing him won't bring them back. Also bitter suicidal Jack narrates the intro, not the renovated Jack

It doesn't matter because he's not going to go back. It would be such a shitty ending if he did and the entire show got retconned. He's going to defeat Aku and maybe die in the process but ultimately stay in the future with Ashi and try and make the world a better place.

No, no it was pretty horrible. I was laughing at it throughout. Key point at, not with.
It's something I expect in some shitty moe anime. If anything it falls into so bad it's good tier, but it's not quite there.
>i..it's supposed to be awkward!
Yeah sure, fine. You can have awkward, but there's a big difference between that and horribly writing in contrived, generic situations that make it awkward. It did everything in the book. Crammed train like it was some shitty porno, sucking poison from a leg, hell that's barely the start. Not to mention Ashi literally dressing herself so she isn't nude and then going on to be surprised that Jack is surprised when she is.

I'm not mad at it though and I still look forward to episodes 9 and 10. But looking at it, that being episode 8, from what has been a solid start, it was really disappointing. From around episode 4 every fight scene has also been severely lacking. There's a lot left to address in Samurai Jack and they now have 40 minutes to do so. Episode 8 set up Jashi, sure, but it can also be seen as a large waste of 20 minutes when the buildup could have been slow, subtle and had a semblance of intelligence that transpired over multiple episodes and culminated in a scene involving the larger picture. Sure they did build it up a bit before, but not much and then they just blew their load completely for 20 minutes when Jack has a mission.

Discussing Jack is pretty shite on Sup Forums though desu. Both sides are so cancerous. One of them pretends everything is shite and irredeemable, the other pretends everything is awesome and Genndy can do no wrong. If you criticise it you're a retard, if you like it you're reddit or whatever. I've been enjoying it but it's not lived up to what the first few episodes set. They were really good.

I agree.

I though Octus/Kimmie was rather good.

Guardian next episode so I reckon so

>It would be such a shitty ending if he did
The show literally starts with gotta get back dude

I think the series is going to end with Jack coming to terms with the idea that he cannot undo the past and that part of life is learning to live with the mistakes you've made.

They had an entire episode showing the good Jack has done in the future, they aren't going to have all that be for nothing.

>I think the series is going to end with Jack coming to terms with the idea that he cannot undo the past

Yep, and I think Ashi will be the one to remind Jack that going back in time will wipe out the existences of all the people he met, saved, and cares for.

Going back to the past was already said to be metaphorical by Genndy himself. Jack is not going back to the past, all time portals being destroyed could be literal for a reason: imgur.com/a/S26LY

>Sorry mom and dad I could save you but this pussy thing is amazing.

That's the thing, if they're smart about this they won't make it look like Jack willingly gave up going to the past because "muh Ashi".

Aku probably isn't ever going to open another time portal for Jack, so hopefully the series will end with Jack going "fuck it", killing Aku and be done with it.

>choosing your parents over pussy

this is why anons don't breed

time travel isn't real so they can make up whatever bullshit rules they want

>They had an entire episode showing the good Jack has done in the future, they aren't going to have all that be for nothing.
That's probably true desu. I guess he'll kill Aku and choose to live in the now since Aku isn't around being a dick.
There'll probably be a scene of his parents being proud of him for it too etc, honestly sounds like a sweet ending. I might actually prefer that over him going back since it's something different

I thought Jack/Ashi was gonna be platonic because Lance/Illana is platonic.

Jack wasn't all about the fighting man. Tough luck it wasn't the show you wanted in your headcanons.

The truest post.

>writers and directors like to create the exact same stories
user do you have brain problems?

Whoa user, careful with all those well-formulated and reasonable opinions. Can't have any of those here!

>implying you need to be all about fighting to have good action
>implying action hasn't been a large part of Samurai Jack since its start

Wow great post

So if you're parents were in a burning house you wouldn't cancel your date?

Agreed.

You only get two parents. It's not like the past doesn't have tons of pussy for Jack, especially after he goes back and kills Aku and saves everyone and is a big hero and then becomes Emperor.

I know right? I understand much without paying attention to so little.

No I mean he's never really attempted romance and seems kinda stand offish about it. Besides Octis and Kimmy

If he stayed and beat Aku, he would be emperor of the world with millions of possible concubines at his call. That and the only friends he ever made in his life are in the future.

I doubt Jack would choose being emperor of the world and his friends over going back to his own time and undoing all the pain and suffering Aku has inflicted over 1000 years. Plus I think he would want to be back in his own time with his own people.

Jack's a huge moralfag. Anyone who thinks he will willingly stay in the future is deluding themselves.
