How can people say Jack is "too old" for Ashi when we have THIS canonised for a kids cartoon? She's like 5000 year old and this is an immature 20 year old manchild at best.

Because one show has canonical gays in it.

Tarzan was about a hulking manchild being shown the world and taken advantage of by Jane.
The Graduate is an American Classic about a woman taking advantage of a young man.
Numerous movies have been made about old women trying to get together with younger men to prove "they still have it" and the same thing with movies about dumb jocks being taken advantage of by their love interest who teaches them how to love while they charge ahead toward their sports goals.

People are focused on the wrong thing if they're complaining about characters being too old or taking advantage of characters who are new to the world.

Because SU is impossible to be taken seriously

Because the gems are massive manchildren as well. None of them understand babies, all of the gems have nearly murdered steven by accident or in Pearl's case on purpose by fucking up, and Amethyst literally drinks motor oil for fun.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with Jashi. Jack getting with a woman whom he fights to the death first is basically just the shit he's been doing for 50 years except in reverse order.

because this show it's also fucked up but SJW and the gender benders adore it like religion.

Because it has always been man's dream to bone extraterrestrials. Who the hell are we to deny Greg that?

And besides, if anything, he's the more mature half of the couple.

even little girls ship old men with young girls. Thus why fluttercord is that popular in mlp fandom.

Also this.

He was still in his teen punk phase when this old alien stole his virginity, tho.

Because tumblr thrives on hypocrisy

that doesnt look like age difference at all, although Sabrina Teenage witch had her aunts dating mortal guys 100 years younger than them,

Nah his adventures are just dreams to him in that he barely remembers them. He's back to his 14 year old mind with some random experiences they may reference to asspull their way through a plot-of-the-week.

>100 years younger than them
Sometimes it was implied Hilda and Zelda were thousands of years old.

They still happened and has gone through 16 years worth of time, thus is still technically older than he used to be, just like Jack.

He's in his 30's

Well yes but we at least have a word of god that he barely remembers any of it and his personality has been reset to his 14 year old self. It's a shitty explanation because they wanted to have their cake and eat it too, but the mental age gap doesn't exist in the same way that it does for Jack and Aishi.

Jack lived through all 50 years since the first four seasons, he remembers those years, and he has changed as a person from those experiences. He is a 70 year old man with the body of a 25 year old. This means he hasn't mentally deteriorated, but that's not really the issue. The issue is the gap in experience between them.

because greg isnt mentally a 5 year old.
ashii was raised to be a killing machine and didnt know what the fuck a deer was at the age she was sent to kill the samurai. she had a child like behaviour in the entire show until, conviniently, the last episode.
Meanwhile, greg was a normal and functional adult who was raised like a normal man.And his relationship with rose was always romantic, unlike with ashii where jack started as a mentor
Also rose is an alien and not human.Greg technically fucked a rock.

i hate this show but given how its a over the top and mostly comedic cartoon, and the fact that the episode was never meant to be taken seriously,it really doesnt matter.

Samurai jack watchers and gender benders?

By that logic, we can say that Jack has regressed back to his 25 year old self after getting his sword back cause after that, he's back to exactly how he was in the first 4 seasons.

That is a terrible explanation for Marco but if that's acceptable enough to still ship him with a 14 year old girl, then the same should apply for Jack.

>headcanons will explain this reasoning
Also Rose lived thousands of years on Earth. She would be as much evolved and developed as any human so fucking "a rock" doesn't apply or you may as well say that fucking a new born baby alien doesn't count as pedophilia.

It's different when a woman does it because she doesn't hold any power over him and thus is not taking advantage of him.

Yeah and if you refuse you are a gay lord for the rest of your life

I understand bitching about the trend, but Jack is like the least likely guy to take advantage of the situation. He's so honorable and single-minded in his quest that he might as well not be a normal adult either.

His appearance is but it would a complete assumption that would require creation of evidence to say he is mentally 25 again. He's back to being as balanced as he was when he wielded the sword last, but he can be balanced and still maintain all his memories. In fact unless the show states or the creator states it we can't just say "oh well he's mentally younger for no reason."

Yes it is a terrible explanation with very little logic but it is word of god. Word of god, Marco is mentally 14 who now has random dream-like memories from his 16 years of adventures. So it's a 14 year old being shipped with a 14 year old. With Jack we don't have that, we can't say he's younger, he's not and we have no reason to believe he is.

Aside from his traumatic experiences, Jack's still the same basic character he always was so there's not much difference mentally as well as physically.

That still doesn't change the fact he has 50 years worth of experiences than Aishi does. A big part of the problem people have with older men with younger women is the power dynamic. The older person knows more, has seen more of life, their opinions are going to carry more weight in the relationship because of this. This isn't NECESSARILY going to result in a bad relationship but it can very easily contribute to one where the older person completely dominates the relationship just because they know more about life.

People see this setup between a man with a large amount of experience and a woman with very, very little, less than her age would indicate, and get very worried the relationship could be predatory. On the tumblr side of things they start putting forth the idea that such a predatory relationship is inevitable and there is no possible way a positive relationship could come out of such an age gap which is why a lot of people are flipping their shit on there.

I don't agree with this absolute statement but I can see where it is coming from. And I did think a mentor/student relationship was more appropriate given their ages, but I am not opposed to what we got because we know Jack is a good person and this is a cartoon about a super noble man on a quest to save the world. It's not likely going to explore the power dynamics of a May/December relationship.

Jack has been emotionally stunned for a good portion of those 50 years. He still spergs out in front of Ashi as a virgin 25 year old. Also, while he's seen more world, there is still a lot he doesn't know about despite trying to make it look like he does. Such as eating that shrimp that turned his head into a fish. That was Jack being ignorant about something he claimed to be knowledgeable about and Ashi reacting appropriately instead of blindly following him.
