When everyone is complaining and you're just happy there's a new season

When everyone is complaining and you're just happy there's a new season.

Some of us revolt in disgust when someone else takes a shit on our platter.

Jack's faces in that episode were great. I liked seeing the normally cold-faced Jack get all blushed and embarrassed and smiling often.

It was a nice change of pace.

It's when you don't like something.

Okay, drama queen. Sorry Genndy didn't make Jack gay or whatever he did to offend your delicate sensibilities.

You're biting the hand that feeds you you entitled shit.

nice to see you too professor

Quit talking like a tumblrtard, OP

Dude I am not a huge fan of this either but the forced romantic comedy trope is as overused as it is because it works. It's not bad, it's just not ending up how we had predicted. Get over yourself, Genndy still has it.

they both had very cute facial expressions.
as long as ashi was facing the camera.

is that a fucking Bane reference??

This isn't someone taking a shit on the platter.
you're just used to italian and the chef decided to give everyone sushi.

...

Ok, now I'm mad

That's disgusting

>being this entitled

>entitled
There's that word again

It's true when you threaten to ruin a guy's career over the way he wanted to end a story. Hell! The season was finished before episode 1 even started.

This is what we're up against. And you call us names like "Sup Forumsntrarians" instead of helping us.

Jack's

>that was really nice...

face is great.

You are contrarians just like the guy who refused to watch the first 4 seasons. You are on the same pedestal as him in my eyes. AKA A shit/co/m

>things that totally happened guys, I swear

If you didn't have the brain the size of a peanut you would realize that it's autists shitposting and falseflagging to trick people like you into thinking anyone would actually do that

I like a lot of shit Sup Forums doesn't like, and I defend it just as vociferously as I attack SJ's new season.

It's called having critical thought.

It's happened on Sup Forums before. I've been here long enough to know how far the autism rabbit hole goes.

I don't like you either

GUARDIAN NEXT EP BOYS

sounds like a personal problem m8s

Didn't you say this before in another thread already?

Haven't you guys been bitching about ashi in other threads already?

Shitty characters tend to get alot of attention

You know what that sounds like to me?

10 episodes is not enough. This is a great season, but it does not feel like a planned final one. Have Jack and Aku even met once this season? Are there any stakes that weren't in the original show? Something feels off.

They got pushed out by positivity.

Every thread reaches a homeostasis of indifference or positive opinion, and then they go make a new one, lol.

>Are there any stakes that weren't in the original?
There's a pretty fucking high stake that just got finalized into play.

The new season certainly doesn't deserve having 8 salt threads a day dedicated to it. Making a chicken out of a feather, that's how I feel about shitposters.

I don't see why the plot not lining up with your headcanon means you have to vehemently try to ruin it for everyone else.

>Have Jack and Aku even met once this season?

No, for reasons that are explained in the episodes. And also because they want the final confrontation(s) to have more punch, which is hard to do if Aku is behaving like his normal once-a-week self.

Are there any stakes that weren't in the original show?

Yes and no. The portals are gone, so Jack's had to redefine his mission. For the first time, Jack has a piece of the future he values, which makes him vulnerable in a way he hasn't been before. There are stakes for Aku, too, with the planet almost in complete revolt and the potential for a dynasty by his worst enemy.

>my boy Jack is finally happy for the first time in decades
>this is literally the worst thing in the world for some autistic virgins on Sup Forums

Thanks to Genndy now it's easier than ever to spot /r9k/ and tumblr on this board

Don't worry, when the tenth episode hits it'll be revealed that it was all a dream

At the end of the episode we cut back to when jack fell from the cliff, but this time with Ashi dead and the season starts for real

Just don't let them get to you user. In the end, you're the one enjoying it, and they are the ones who are fanning the flames of their own anger.

Everything good and bad about the original series is there, and I really like how the increased rating has freed up Genndy but not caused him to go too far.

Of course, I feel like an outlier since I liked Episodes 7 & 8 of the new season more than 4-6. 1-3 are up there with the best of the very best of the original series, but the rest has all been very good. The worst rating I'd give any of the episodes is like a 6.5-7/10 for Episode 4 for feeling stretched out for the sake of scenery porn when other aspects of the season could've used that time. Still, it was good overall. Excited to see how the last two episodes go, even though I feel like it's going to really pick up the pace even further to tie the whole thing together.

Aku's EXTRA THICC line becoming a meme in the wake of new season hype has been fun too.

im just happy to see tumblr salty

>virgins virgins vrigins wah wah wah
Repeating yourself doesn't make you right.
If Ashi was a better written character and actually interesting I would've been glad, but she sucks

As long as they find a way to wrap up the story, that is all that matters at this point.

I mean if people are unhappy, they can watch the earlier seasons, those episodes are just as good and they barely connect to one another so you can watch them in mostly any order you want save several.

>shit on our platter
You either think that samurai jack is YOUR platter or you dont realize that you dont have to watch it.
You didnt pay for this.
They were given one season to tie up loose ends and they are going to give jack a wife and have him stuck in the future.
We were never going to get more of the same as before.
This is literally just a rap up of the show.

Don't you go all 'Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge' on me, motherfucker.

I guess so, but Aku hasn't really done much this season. If anything, Jack killing him almost seems like a mercy-kill because of Aku being so bored all the time.

I get that the journey is more important than the destination, but what if Aku isn't the final showdown we are expecting? Something seems fishy about this season, compare the first 2 episodes and last 2 to see what I mean.

If you make shit you deserve to have your career ruined.

Obviously you have nothing of value to add to the industry.

Atleast try

I imagine there's one 'trick' here, but Aku isn't bored, he's depressed - because, as far as he knows, he can't kill Jack. So he tries to forget him, but he can't, because Jack just keeps surviving. When he finds out about Ashi, finds a way to HURT Jack again, expect him to go fucking nuts.

Who in this thread threatened Genndy to justify you calling people entitled? Are you serious?

I hope so, the "Ronin" comic Samurai Jack is heavily influenced by had a pretty massive twist in the end.

>They were given one season to tie up loose ends and they are going to give jack a wife and have him stuck in the future.
How do people know he's going to be stuck in the future? Were there leaks?

I just want the show to focus on telling tightly paced stories that were able to shut the fuck up and take a break from constant dialogue about a hero fucking up mythological/technological beings

i dont give a fuck about ashi i'm just butthurt that she threw the show off of doing what it does best for some pretty cliched cartoon shit

No dude, you're not allowed to have criticisms of season 5, lest you be labeled a contrarian or a shitposter

at first i thought the pacing had to be bad because it was bound to happen with 10 episodes but then i remembered over the garden wall.

That's because CN wanted to air the episodes out of order. Two parters are a bit of a problem for them.

On the board! That's when I quit taking the criticisms seriously.

Faggot

WE

Officially, all the portals are gone, but I get the sense that Jack will have one last chance to go back to the past and refuse it.

In the comic, there were some vague similarities - Jack gives up on going back to the past as impossible, stating that you can't just yearn for the past forever, but you can build a better future. In so making this realization, Jack transitions from a wandering samurai to a king, and leads an attack on Aku that is implied to be destined to succeed.

A popular but unverified rumor is that Ashi will die confronting Aku, and Jack will return to the past to save her, thereby becoming stuck in the future.

Many of the ridiculous things that people are saying ARE sincere, user. Do you honestly think that everyone here is level-headed and calm?

>For the first time, Jack has a piece of the future he values

i can tell they are going for a "if i come back you will no longer exists" but that would make jack look like a total jackass because then the scotsman, the dogs, the archers and everyone else aren't as important.

i am laughing so hard at you

I heard that Jack dies and Ashli is flung into the past. She falls in love with a man who reminds her of Jack, who turns out to be an emperor. She warns him about Aku and gives him the sword. Eventually she has a child, who she names Jack, creating a stable time loop.

To be fair, Jack never has known how time travel works. It may have to be explained for him to realize this fact. After all, he has never used the 'if I travel back, this will never have happened' logic before, always preferring to save people and lose a chance rather than profit from their pain.

With a lot of the characters, you can reason that they may still exist even without Aku, but Ashi? Never. I figure they'll either take that angle or the more practical 'NONE of these people will have existed' angle.

Still, it's an awful, horrifying choice: choose between the suffering of those who are gone or the lives of those who endure.

EVERYBODY

Why can't Ashli also travel back with him?

I dropped this season 3 episodes in. Name someone more butthurt then me.

Except the sword was given to the emperor by the gods.

well based on the leaks i can tell the twist is that despite the fact that they are portrayed as unconnected as possible and aku couldn't be most unaware, he is in fact the one behind the cult in the sense that he approved their suffering and gave the daughters some of his demon magic, which is connected to that tweet where lamar said their suits weren't "just" coal to explain how they could carry their weapons

wtf, nobody in their right mind would end a story that way. who the hell did you hear that from?

You're probably lying, but here's a (you)

I'm really not. After the battle with the sisters and seeing that Ashii didn't die I stopped watching.

Plus, that would mean Jack took his mothers virginity.

mean to answer
and

...

Well I can't say much about that then

Could also be that Ashi's pregnant.

She'd probably become immortal, or if the Guardian's portal survives he might do his 'HAHAHAHAHAHA - No' routine.

Get ready to get even more disgusted then.

yeah, but i meant that reveal would make aku more threatening

since the show seems to be playing on the juxtaposition between aku the funny dictator vs the totally serious and child abusing cult almost everyone's reaction after seeing ashi's flashback has been "hahaha, aku doesn't know about the cult" and then the reveal comes and is "holy shit, aku DOES know about the cult"

LOVES

MOMS SPAGHETTI

He's afraid of Jack, too, if what the Scotsman said is true. He's tried everything and still can't kill him.

NEVER FORGETTI

HE'S NERVOUS

cuz season 5 is good. If you wanna nit-pick just realize your a cunt and nobody likes you.

Oh relax, you weenie

>When some shits on your plate and everyone is complaining and you're just happy there's food on your plate.

Considering 90% of the rewrites here have amounted to "jack takes a world tour to meet all his friends and get his confidence back, with a beard". I don't think anything wouldn't have been a by the numbers play.

You forgot to add grimdark! Everything has to be moody and forlorn and edgy and Jack needs to remain a lone wanderer into eternity, never finding a glimpse of happiness beyond fulfilling his duty.

>cuz season 5 is good.
It is absolute dogshit.

>!
Quit being a underaged nigger

they could be an english teacher for all you know?

That would be pretty embarrassing of you then

>teenager accusing others of being teenagers

I'm not them, bubby.

>Waaah! Listen to my shitposting.

So is no one going to bring up that we have the descriptions for the upcoming episodes?

C : Samurai Jack's worst fear is realized when he faces off against Aku; the demon makes a shocking discovery about Ashi that puts her in grave danger.

CI : The fate of the entire universe hangs in the balance as Samurai Jack faces Aku.
