Drake bought a mansion when he was just getting famous because he was going to leverage his time in Drake and Josh into getting his musical act top40 huge. Unfortunately, he was involved in a wreck (IIRC it was the other driver's fault) that ruined his hands. Seeing as he was a guitarist, it ended his music career. After Drake and Josh ended, and he was no longer able to leverage into the music industry, he pretty much was unable to pay for the house and had a hard time getting other work. That's all I know personally.
