Last Jedi Plot Hole General

>/phg/ Last Jedi Plot Hole General 2: Electric Boogaloo. Comment too long edition
I'm making a list of all the major inconsistencies and plot holes in the Last Jedi. Feel free to add/discuss.
Why were turbo laser bolts arcing in space?
Why were they using slow ass bombers that need to be directly above their target to be effective?
Why are these bombers so fragile that a piece of tie fighter can go right through one and set off a chain reaction which blows up three?
What happened to Y-Wings?
How could a single X Wing take out a large frigates turrets with only a few shots?
Why was force Yoda acting like the funny and senile guy in ESB instead of the wise old man we saw him become in ROTJ?
Why did Luke die from projecting himself? He must have done this before, it's not like he learned it right there and didn't know how much it'd drain him
Why did Rose sacrifice herself to stop Finn from sacrificing himself?
Why did Rose say "We won't win by killing those we hate, but save the ones we love", when her stopping Finn just allowed the door to be breached and what's left of the resistance to be slaughtered?
Why did Rose say that when the Rebellion literally defeated the Empire by killing them?
Why didn't Holdo tell the clearly panicking commander the plan?
(Why is Holdo the only one who is not at all dressed like an officer? It made sense for Leia because she is a princess, but why Holdo?) -Minor complaint
Why didn't Finn and Rose just get more fuel first, instead of looking for a slicer?
Why did Maz tell them that only the guy with the rose can help them, but then they miraculously find a capable person literally just lying around in their cell?
Why did the ships who ran out of fuel slow down and fall towards the First Order ships when they should've just kept their speed until they hit something as there is no wind resistance in open space?
Why did the Leia Superman thing happen?
Why does no one ever acknowledge it?

Why does no one get sucked into space when they let Leia in?
How did she recover from getting spaced in only a few hours?
Why did they put the Death Star laser on the ground and not fire it from space?
Why did Luke try to murder a his underage nephew for dreaming of the dark side even though he didn't even believe that Vader was beyond redemption and refused to attack the emperor?
Why does nothing of the republic or their fleet remain?
Why is the Resistance, which was solely created to defend the Republic in case of a FO attack, so hopelessly outmatched?
How did the children at the end know about Luke's sacrifice?
Why is Snoke the supreme Leader even though he had nothing to do with the Empire?
Why didn't Snoke sense Kylo's betrayal?
Why is Rey still more powerful than Kylo?
How did Rey learn in 8 hours (remember the story takes place over a 16 hour timespan and her Skype calls with Kylo prove that they happen simultaneously) what Luke or any Jedi needed years for?
Since TLJ takes place immediately after TFA why is Kylo suddenly thicc?
If Luke came to the island to die then why did he leave a map?
If Luke came to the island to die why hasn't he killed himself yet?
How did Finn learn how to pilot ships?
How did Rey learn to swim?
(cont.)

Why is Leia just floating stationary outside the ship? Did she coast to a stop? In space?
How did she even survive getting blasted by Tie Fighters?
Why would Luke not tell Leia and and rebels that he was not really there and that he was a force projection and he was only going to be able to stall the first order for a short while until they figured it out so they needed to use every second to try and find a way out of the base? By not telling anyone this he sabotages his own plan. If Poe doesn't figure it out then everyone just stands there waiting for him to save them and ends up getting slaughtered. All he had to do was tell Leia "I'm not really here, quick look for a way out while I stall them"
How did Luke, a holographic force projection, hand Leia physical golden dice that Kylo later picked up before they faded into nothingness?
How did rose manage to get in front of Finn to block him when they showed all the planes do a 180 apart from his?
Why the fuck did Yoda not pop up earlier to counsel Luke? What about Obi-Wan?
Why did Yoda not show up at the battle to kill Kylo Ren with a fucking thunderbolt? Why didn’t he kill the Emperor that way?
Why is Rose so dumb that she thinks the horses won't be captured 10 minutes later it's a fucking island and they have space ships?
How can bb8 just go continually solo armies?
How was an entire army in a locked room after Finn and rose broke in with the hacker?
How were Finn and Rose about to be executed with like 800 Stormtroopers and Phasma next to them, but after the blast they're surrounded by like 5 Stormtroopers and Phasma is 200m away from them?
How can the metal of Finn's retarded ski ship melt while Finn didn't sustain permanent injury?
How did the 20 man resistance expect backup fleets within minutes of sending a distress signal when it takes weeks to ready a fleet?
Why does Rey suffer no consequences for giving into the dark side?
(still cont.)

Why did all the AT ATs stop shooting completely when only Finn and Rose were left on the speeders?
Why did Finn and Rose seem unconcerned about the fact that they crashed so close to the AT ATs?
How did Finn manage to carry Rose all the way back to the base without getting shot?
How did Rey get from the imperial throne room to the Millenium Falcon?
How did Finn and Rose exit the Raddus, hyperspace jump away, and hyperspace jump back without the FO noticing?
If the FO didn't notice them do that why didn't they evacuate the Raddus that way?
Why doesnt kylo have a big gaping hole from where chewy shot him?
If Kylo had a perfectly good lightsaber, why is his new one so bad/cracking/broken?
Why did none of the FO ships have shields?

Thats what i have so far

I think the biggest one is why Holdo didn't tell Poe the plan, like literally why would you not tell them? Do you think they're going to tell the order what they're planning and just let themselves be blown up?

Even if she did keep the plan a secret, she'd eventually have to tell them to get on the escape ships, then if someone really didn't care about dying for the order they could just send a message out right then before getting on the ships.

It means the whole shitty casino plot line would have been avoided if she just told him there was a plan.

Fuck I hate this movie so much.

It was to teach Poe a lesson, because that's the most important thing when dozens of people's lives are on the line

God this movie is a mess.

But Poe was literally known for disobeying orders and drastic actions, so why did she throw him in jail to teach him a lesson? Or at least monitor him? She just insulted him, threw him off the bridge and thought everything would be fine.

Because it was in the script.

How did DJ know about the transport evacuation plan? He ratted them out to hux when he was captured for money, yet no one told him they were planning that, so how could he have known?

Furthermore, why didn't the first order know? They could have just looked out the fucking window and seen a bunch of of transports leaving without needing DJ to tell them.

Why did the Resistance plan an evacuation with only enough Fuel for 2 hyperspace jumps?

>If Luke came to the island to die then why did he leave a map?
>If Luke came to the island to die why hasn't he killed himself yet?
If Luke went to the island to die why did he bother learning new things?

The arcing lasers triggered the fuck out of me

>How did Rey get from the imperial throne room to the Millenium Falcon?
99% sure that this was cut from the movie to save time.

Which makes the situation even more retarded because Poe doesn't even really acknowledge Holdo's death.
Poe didn't go through an ounce of character development because of Holdo.
Now Poe is just a retarded asshole for not divining Holdo's plan out of the aether.

Why is Holdo’s sacrifice championed but Finn’s derided and thwarted?

Since when is crashing a ship at 200mph into someone a method of saving their life?

How does Kylo not recognize the blue lightsaber Luke is holding that he and Rey destroyed?

Why don’t they wear goggles in the speeders on the salt planet?

Why does the resistance go from being 99% poc / women to 100% white men on the front lines of the salt planet?

Why does Rose want to save Finn so bad when an AT-AT can easily shoot both of them?

Why didn’t an AT-AT shoot finn/rose when they “crashed”

Why doesn’t Luke tell the Resistance “I’m going to distract him so you can escape” instead he lets them waste time and figure it out on their own

How can you drop bombs in space?

Why is the only aiming method on the bombers looking through the bottom of the hole?

Why doesn’t Anakin show up as a force ghost and reason with Kylo?

WTF is the point of finding “the missing piece of the map” when they could just travel to the part that’s missing from the map in the system and hunt Luke that way?

Why did the First Order ship not send out a fleet of Tie fighters to finish off the resistance freighter when they knew they only had like 4 x wings left?

Why doesn’t the Resistance freighter eventually outrun the First Order ship if the First Order ship is travelling slower?

Why didn’t anyone tell Kylo on the salt planet “Luke is distracting you so the rebels can escape”

(cont)

The one single thing every Rebel has in common is that they defied authority to become rebels in the first place. But now the rebel leader expects blind loyalty, makes perfect sense.

pasta:

Why didn't they just hyperspace in front of the rebel fleet instead of driving behind them for 18 hours?

If Luke wanted to be left alone, why did he make a map of where he was then split it into pieces and randomly scatter them around?

Since the it took only one bomber to destroy an entire star destroyer dreadnaught, why didnt they just fire those tiny bombs from x-wings since they're so fast that a single x-wing can take out 10 gun batteries?

If Snoke was the most powerful sith lord we've ever seen, why couldn't he sense the force being used 2 feet away from him?

If Luke wanted to die, why didn't he just kill himself instead of sitting on a tiny island for 20 years drinking monster milk?

If the rebel fleet just needed more fuel and was able to send away smaller ships like Finn/Rose's ship to freely leave and come back, why didn't they just bring some fuel with them too?

If Leia could use the force to push things around, why didnt she just push the rocks at the end blocking their exit, instead of relying on Rey luckily returning at that exact moment?

If Yoda's ghost can call lightning to destroy things in the real world, why didn't he just do that to kill Snoke or Kylo?

Why can Rey speak 3 languages to understand english, chewbacca and bb8 despite being a scavenger on a desert planet her whole life?

If the rebel fleet can call Maz on a distant planet, why did they need to fly to Crait before calling for reinforcements?

How did Finn and Rose make it back to the Rebel Base after being involved in a near fatal speeder collision 20 feet away from the Imperial army?

Why didn't Kylo use any force powers like his force-freeze in the throne room fight?

If the Rebel Alliance has been fighting the Empire for 50 years and accomplished jack shit except getting people killed, why don't they just give up and go home?

>How can you drop bombs in space?
I can actually explain this one. They're on magnetic tracks.

Nigger I'm not reading that, but maybe you don't have those
Why did Rose assume that everyone in the casino is a war criminal? Republic thrived just a few years ago, surely the majority of the super rich got rich during the peaceful times of the Republic.
On the same topic, why is The First Order buying weapons? Shouldn't they be producing their own or at least buying from other governments instead of random traders? Who are those weapon dealers and where the hell did they get the specific vehicles that only First Order uses? Do they steal them from First Order factories and then sell them back to them?

Why do you let a guy (Poe) who just destroyed your Starkiller base fly up to your ship alone?

What dumb ass fucking plan is flying a single X-Wing with your top pilot up to the front of a dreadnought, letting them know you’re there with some cheesy prank call, and how did that get approved by the chain of command?

Why is Pow treated so terribly after he destroyed Starkiller base a few hours earlier?

Why did destroying Starkiller base not put the First Order on the run at all?

Why does the First Order have infinite resources when the Rebels won ROTJ?

Why does Luke want the Jedi to end with no contingency plan in place to defeat the Dark Side?

Why did Luke use a force projection if he was going to die anyway?

Why does Kylo care about hunting down Luke when Luke is content dying alone and stranded on this retarded planet?

Why don’t the Resistance bombers have shields when they’re carrying thousands of bombs?

What was the point of building a bunker on the salt planet that can easily be accessed through a passage in the back?

Why didn’t the AT-ATs focus fire on the Falcon while Kylo fought Luke?

Why did the red guards sit back, wait for Kylo to kill Snoke, THEN attack Kylo their de-facto leader after Snoke was already dead?

(Cont)

If you can use Force push/pull on yourself the way Leia did, can't you fly by pushing yourself against Earth? Can Jedi fly now?

And no, she wasn't pushing the ship towards her, you could see her float through a debris. Why would she push debris with the ship? Or is force push/pull now operates a field and pushes/pulls everything that is inside that push/pull field instead of specific objects?

>If Luke came to the island to die then why did he leave a map?
>If Luke came to the island to die why hasn't he killed himself yet?
>If Luke went to the island to die why did he bother learning new things?

Because dying doesn't end a Jedi have you even seen Star Wars?

What happens to space turtle nuns who were living with Luke now that he burned their temple? Will they kill themselves now that they've failed to protect their holy site?

Have you seen Star Wars? He says he severed connection with the force. You can do that now apparently. So why not just kill yourself at that point?

How did the First Order not notice the planet the rebels were planning to evacuate to? Surely at some point First Order must've seen the salt planet, surely they should've sent forces there before the rebellion got to it.

Also, why didn't another First Order ship just jump in front of the rebel ship during the chase? Don't they control the entire galaxy? Surely they have ONE more ship capable of jumping around.

What is your point?
He locked himself out of the force so as to not fall into the dark side after almost killing Ben, and to not show up on other force users' "radars"
I assume this is a reversible state and very difficult to achieve

He also unlocked the secret of becoming a force ghost like his jedi teachers before him, which is another, unrelated process

Why is it basically treated like a non-issue that the entire resistance has been killed off and is down to 20 people and the movie ends on a hopeful note with Leia and Rey bonding?

How does Maz Kanata answer the phone in a gun fight knowing exactly what the Resistance needs, who he is, and exactly where to find him? But didn’t help at all with Starkiller?

Why are the horses on canto bight freed but the children left in slavery?

Why didn’t the New Republic build defenses against Death Star tech after ROTJ?

Why are the walls so thin on the casino planet that nearby horse creatures can escape and run through them?

Why does Leia call for help and 10 mins later gives up and accepts nobodys coming?

If the fate of the universe is at stake and the Resistance allies won’t show up, is the fate of the universe really at stake or is this a petty squabble?

Why is Kylo Ren sentimental/light side for only twenty minutes with no explanation? Why the sudden change?

Why does the Resistance continually meet the First Order in head on battles when they have like 400 people instead of more guerilla style?

Why is the First Order’s crypto so vulnerable that it takes one guy five minutes to “hack” ?

My point is your claim that Jedi can't die is false because apparently you can stop being a Jedi at which point I would assume the Jedi rules do not apply.

The real moral of the story is that Poe's toxic masculinity made someone kill themselves.

Yo have to try hard to become a force ghost. It's not just the default thing that happens.

What? Being a Jedi is not an on/off state.

>Yo have to try hard to become a force ghost. It's not just the default thing that happens.
True it's actually a thing you have to learn but most plot relevant jedi in the movies have it.

What happened to all the guys on the trench? What happened to Salt guy? They just kind of disappeared.

After Rose saved Finn how did they get back inside the base with Leia? They should have been immediately killed it captured by the storm troopers around them.

Why do the Stormtroopers need “light axes” for executions specifically and not just normal axes?

How does a rank newbie Stormtrooper go toe to toe with a Captain?

Why did Kylo Ren in episode 7 force choke a dude and say WHAT GIRL?! if Rey’s a random nobody?

How does Hux get to general in his 30s when he’s insanely incompetent?

How do the two most incompetent losers in the First Order end up running the entire show?

Why didn’t Holdo stop Poe’s mutiny and tell everyone the plan then and there instead of letting it go on?

How many people died because of Holdo not telling Poe her plan?

I feel finish what you started.

What did Vader start? Why didn't he ghost stop Kylo or tell him to go back to the light side?

What happened to the Knights of Ren?

>Why are the horses on canto bight freed but the children left in slavery?

What was even the point of freeing them anyway? They escaped a couple miles outside the city, where they will inevitably be recaptured. That entire arc achieved nothing.

I can't take this anymore. This movie is a mess. stop

This movie is fucking dumb

Why didn't Luke read the Jedi texts if he was guarding them for so long?

Why did he suddenly want to destroy them and then freak out when Yoda tried to destroy them with lightning?

Why did Rey steal the books without telling Luke? Is Yoda covering for Rey? Did he tell her to steal the books?

What wisdom do they contain if Rey is already the strongest in the universe?

>How does Hux get to general in his 30s when he’s insanely incompetent?
>How do the two most incompetent losers in the First Order end up running the entire show?

This isn't really a plot hole as much as a stupid and self-contradictory choice in the movies. Hux & the gang are supposed to be the evil enemy. But they're also used for near-slapstick and shown to be retarded.

Somehow the empire is also more successful than the previous non-retarded version. And add to this the removal of the only bad guy who might have seemed genuinely powerful or evil.

>Why does the resistance go from being 99% poc / women to 100% white men on the front lines of the salt planet?

You don't expect minorities to actually go out and shoot people, do you, RACIST?

Diversity is only for the good positions, like admiral.

Why is it treated as comic relief when Rey almost kills the space nuns with a giant boulder?

How can Snoke turn Kylo Ren to the dark side from another galaxy but Luke dies after a little bitch force projection?

How can Snoke see all of Kylo’s thoughts but not see Kylo plan on killing him?

Why does Snoke put his ultimate faith in Kylo to kill Rey when Kylo failed his “test” 30 seconds earlier?

There's no deep meaning to this sub-plot, it was just a very lazy way to create conflict to push the story forward.

is that milk full of midochlorians like electrolytes to gatorade?
and how much milk does one need to consume to force project themself then teleport nude to whatever brothel luke went to

>Why were turbo laser bolts arcing in space?
I didn't notice that, does anyone have a pic/gif/webm?

Imagine using the force to create a force pussy to power fuck your cock, using only the power of your mind.

What for? He had the force nuns all to himself.

He heard Finn and the whatshername chink talking about it over comms didn't he?

It's a step up from butthole eyes, at least.

These aren't even plot holes.

Why does every laser blast, explosion and collision during space battles make audible sound and yet when admiral bitch face suicide rams the first order ship, there is deadly silence?

How did the resistance think they were going to "slip down unnoticed" to the salt planet? Every single fucking element of the space pursuit took place in clear line of sight to the first order fleet (less than 10km away I'd guess). Eddie from Bottom said that Benicio told them about the resistance plan so the first order ran a "de-cloaking scan". Why didn't the First Order just constantly run de-cloaking scans on the fleeing fleet, then?

After Snoke died, Hux was the de facto ruler of the galaxy. Why did he descend to the salt planet to personally oversee the mop-up of about 150 resistance members with small arms?

You sound like someone who didn't watch the film and got all their information about it from Sup Forums, honestly.

Why was the dreadnought next to multiple star destroyers that didn't help it?
Why did those star destroyers not shoot at the rebel ships, launch fighters or bombard the rebel base while the dreadnought just killed the rebel ships?

Why aren't there any new starfighter designs?

>Being a Jedi is not an on/off state
Again, he cut his ties with the force. If he dies, he doesn't become a force ghost because he cut his ties. What is your argument? You're not making any sense.

The biggest question is how does a galactic Republic gets conquered within days just because its capital was nuked. Surely they had an army and surely it was stationed across the galaxy. Surely at the very least it would be decades of war before the Republic is conquered.

>starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Military_Disarmament_Act

>The legislation severely limited the makeup and operations of the Republic's Defense Fleet and army, reducing the overall size of the centralized military by ninety percent. The disarmament movement was undertaken in an effort to reflect the values of a democratic peacetime government and allowed the newly-formed Republic to focus on political cooperation instead of military control as its primary means of civil organization.

This is the power of autism.
Well directed autism pointed at a very deserving target, but autism nonetheless.
Keep it up guys.

You clearly don't know what is a plot hole, pratically all of your points are not detrimental to the workings of the story.
