Sup Forums has always had the imdb boards completely beaten when it came to memes and shitposting. The appeal of the imdb boards came from the fact that no matter how obscure a movie was, you would be almost guaranteed there was some discussion to be found because every single one had its own dedicated subforum. In that sense, the place was an incredible fostering ground for cult followings, unlike Sup Forums which unfortunately has to be constantly flooded with whatever's big at the moment (Star Wars, GoT, the newest capeshit, etc), while everything else just kinda falls off the wayside.

Why do you niggers talk it up so much? IMDB had extremely low quality posters and fell victim to what every forum gets when you have users and post counts and reputations on the line.
Frequent posters spilled their shit on every thread and acted like they were an authority because of how long they'd been there vomiting up garbage. New posters were dismissed no matter how valid their views. And tons and tons of pure Facebook level idiot posts.
The rare gems like finding people who worked on the movie or knew people involved spilling beans were few and far between.

Pepe falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, the frog with no GF immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the sad frog's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LONELINESS.
