Why did Luke succeed and Anakin fail?

Why did Luke succeed and Anakin fail?

no disneywars please

Luke embraced the coarseness. Anakin hated it.

Luke let go of hatred

because Luke was selfless and and was proepared to sacrifice himself for others, a feat which Annakin wasn't able to achieve

Anakin was rogue from the start, even as a boy he was of questionable morality

luke had the emotional support of family and friends.

Luke wasn't obsessed with a woman

but he knew nothing of greed

Anakin was dumber and more easily manipulated.

So? His fall wasn't because of greed.

He turned cause of his fear of losing ones he loved.

Luke was a virgin whereas Anakin was entranced by Naboo pussy.

what was questionable about his morality as a 9 year old?

How was he of questionable morality as a boy?

He was reckless and impulsive.

Maybe morality was the wrong word.

Raised by family instead of band of celibate warrior monks

Anakin grew up poor and a literal slave, was recruited into an order of religious fanatics that didn't really want him (also he had to leave his mother) had a few good years with bro obi wan but then when obi was taken away to hunt grevious he was left with the rest of the council, which he was placed on but he felt he was disrespected. Which led him to start doubting the jedi, this was reinforced when the person who caused all the problems for him in the council (mace windu) broke the jedi rules. Also he had constant nightmares about his mother who later died when he failed to save her and then started having them of padme which drove him to find a way to save her. His character was much deeper than lukes, who although had his problems with the light and dark it pales in comparison

Anakin beat the Emperor and took down the empire. Luke is whiney bitch and a failure.

Anakin is the chosen one.

...

>Anakin is the chosen one.

Well, yeah, duh

Star Wars 1-6 are movies about Anakin Skywalker, not Luke

Single mother households: literal crime factories.

I really hate this meme. Vader wasn't even Anakin until episode 5, and he wasn't even Anakin in the first version of the script

Anakin brought balance to the force multiple times
he outperformed his own prophecy

>I really hate this meme. Vader wasn't even Anakin until episode 5, and he wasn't even Anakin in the first version of the script

Doesn't matter. Retconned.

This, unironically

>2 Jedi, 2 Sith at end of Ep 3

What were the other times?

At the end of Ep 6 there was 1 Jedi and 0 Sith (assuming Snoke didn't exist yet which we don't know for sure)

luke was a neutral force user at that point according to the EU
but he also never allowed one side to be too dominant, so he ended the republic and empire

Fair enough.

Because they were written in reverse order and began where Anakin had already failed.

A glitchy evil robot revealing he was Luke's father made Luke ultra butthurt about the dark side.
That was the empire's undoing.

He never had a chance to be

This. I'd add that Anakin was obsessed with fixing things. He started out an absolute altruist as a child but that turned into a narcissistic obsession later when he got power.

Luke had a different background. He was a rebellious, idealistic teenager coming from a simple but alright home. Anakin was incredibly attached to the love of his mother as that was the only thing he ever had. He then projected his mother into his love for Padme.

Luke in the end used love for his father in order to redeem him. Anakin did the opposite, he turned evil out of fear of losing his love.

That version of Anakin is GOAT

>Why did Luke succeed
he didn't. Luke saved his father, his father saved the galaxy.

kys prequelbabbys

Luke did all the work, Vader just grabbed an old man from behind and threw him in a hole
