TARANTINO'S STAR TREK. SCREENCAP THIS!

I work at Paramount Pictures, and am privy to some confidential information about the upcoming Star Trek film directed by Quentin Tarantino. As you have probably noticed, the studio has put the film on the fast track and a writer has already been announced. Why the rush, you ask? Simply put, Tarantino and Paramount want this movie finished in time to go head to head with Star Wars Episode IX in December 2019. For Tarantino, this is a personal vendetta. When The Force Awakens came out, it forced his picture "The Hateful Eight" out of the Cinerama dome due to Disney's restrictive terms. While he doesn't expect to out-perform Star Wars, even a modestly successful showing at the box-office would be a major embarrassment for Disney. Beyond that, Tarantino wants to counter the "dumbed down" big budget franchise entertainment that Disney currently specialises in. Make no mistake; this new Trek film will be a dark, serious and intelligent piece of science fiction cinema.

For us at Paramount, this movie is a chance to fight back against Disney's growing monopoly in the film industry. With the merger with Fox, we don't just need a successful Star Trek film. We need a successful Star Trek film that gives us a *victory* against the Walt Disney Corporation. This battle of the two most popular science fiction series of all time may alter the future course of Hollywood and cinema as we know it.

Makes sense but I lost all faith within Hollywood. Personal vendettas and dick sizing aside, they're just going to be two large blockbusters that people will eat up and spit back out a few weeks after their release. Modern movies hardly stick in anyone's mind since they're so loud, quippy, and clunky.

good

fuck disney

I thought Episode IX was coming out in May?

Can you offer any proof you work there and know this?

I wish this was real

it was initially but was pushed back to december

No
3.2 in May

>Make no mistake; this new Trek film will be a dark, serious and intelligent piece of science fiction cinema.
so it's going to be shit, great

Wow guys! You can support this Jew franchise over this Jew franchise! You can do it goys! Fight the power!

And J.J will be producing both Star Trek and Star Wars. Really makes me think..

Not without risking my job.

>No I'm lying

>this new Trek film will be a dark, serious and intelligent piece of science fiction cinema.
>dark

I know you're just LARPing, but this is a mistake that will tank the film. Star Trek needs to retain its optimism and humanism or it's not Star Trek. We don't need another fucking deconstruction, we need to world building.

Also, enough with this prequel shit. Move the series forward and cut out the technobabble with good writing.

And fire whoever came up with Star Trek: Fidget Spinner. This is as cringe-worthy as super Leia

it doesn't makes sense since Abrams is producing the trek film while directing the SW flick

Fuck. Tarantino is a screenwriting genius. I don't work for Disney and I know Star Wars wasn't well received and this should be a sure-fire victory for the tarantula. But I have a feeling Disney has a means of wrapping up Star Wars in a neat bow. But, then again, I have no idea what he's working on so maybe it's a cinematic atomic bomb. I'm sure he wouldn't be drawn to the project without having a good reason. And I almost want him to one-up the mouse. They did do Hateful Eight very dirty in the theaters just to get a few more screenings of Star Wars. This is getting very interesting.

Salutations, Reddit!

Star Trek got rather fucked as a franchise after Enterprise, Into Darkness, Beyond, Discovery ...but it didn't go full retard like Star Wars did with The Last Jedi.

Star Trek can be redeemed and I believe in Tarantino. I just hope the movie is not a rehash of "Yesterday's Enterprise" like the rumors are saying.

Is this a joke?

This might be from a time before you frequented this site but we used to just call newfags "newfags" and in keeping with tradition Fuck off, newfag.

is tarantino even capable of making a film that isnt just a rehash of one of his 90s movies

Do I look like I'm joking?

>Star Shit
>Intelligent

Finally, Star Trek will become the new and improved series that CSI predicted, just what all Star Trek fans have been waiting for.

Or maybe not, but turning the series into the GoT of science fiction is sure to draw normie shekels with the visceral violence, blood and sex.

WHATS GOING ON HERE

Tarantino not writing his own material? Try again

>dark
Oh I bet.

Excellent piloting skills.

Sure this is a LARPer but I wish it was real.

Tarantino cant write scifi. And i mean REAL scifi.
What he can do is make a wacky nigger western in space.

Based QT gonna save cinema

star trek would get destroyed let's be real here

>For Tarantino, this is a personal vendetta
you had me at vendetta

i dont care if this is real or not
it would be awesome to come together at the box office, against disney

this is a great post

complete bullshit but it’s actually fairly believable and tarantino is petty enough to be motivated by something like this

QT has said MANY times he's more of a writer than director.

He would never direct a film he didn't write.

(((CRAPANTINO)))

You larpers always suck so much.

they do get plenty of (you)s, though

I kind of hated jj abrams take on star trek

The Mouse doesn't own Paramount?

once when i was browsing amateur asian porn, i got linked to a voyeur clip of a tibetan monk banging some maid. then after that i watched another video. then another. those guys are living the life, i tell ya

I really hope this true. Unfortunately, if it is, what you've forgotten is there's a good chance Villeneuve's Dune will be released around that time. It's either fall 2018 if we're really lucky (based on his track record) or fall 2019 more likely since a cast hasn't even been announced.
Dejected star wars fans are more likely to turn to Dune than Star Trek. In a perfect world, they'd go to both. Although, I guess either way, as long as Star Wars flops

Retarded roleplayer who has no idea how the studio system works
>victory over Disney
Lol

agreed

sounds cash tbqh

Entertaining, but the idea that Tarantino's motivations would be written down on some confidential document given to low ranking plebs at Paramount is retarded.

so is Tarantino like his antithesis or something?

;)

>Villeneuve's Dune
I've got some bad news for you, user...

No. JJ is racist Jew snob enough to cast the nigger in the secondary role.
Tarantino will make the lead black and it will be Black Panther, but in space and with shitty CG blood squirts

What? Last I read (literally yesterday) he's working hard on Dune and that's why he couldn't do Bond. Do you have anything that says otherwise?

it's not coming out any time soon. he's writing it, he isn't even 100% sure that it'll still be backed when he's finished writing.
>But for Dune, I am working on the script now. Maybe in six months, we’ll see: “oh, I’m unemployed!” Maybe they won’t like what I am doing.
blade runner 2049 flopped hard, the changes of this being funded and coming out any time soon are slim. it really doesn't matter that he's preparing for it and wants to do it unless he plans on bankrolling it himself

Let me guess: this is from STD

>Tarantino and Paramount want this movie finished in time to go head to head with Star Wars Episode IX in December 2019.

That's is stupid. I mean, maybe Tarantino wants that, but there is no way in hell that Paramount would accept that because it would kill their movie. Not even WB would make such a move, and that company is ran by idiots.

Tarantino isn't writing it so what the fuck are you expecting from this

>This battle of the two most popular science fiction series of all time may alter the future course of Hollywood and cinema as we know it.

>The battle of these two generic blockbusters will determinate the fate of this art form!

You have to be a fucking manchildren to believe such a thing.

Solo is going to flop hard. That will be two duds in a row, and yes Paramount may well develop the balls to face Star Wars head on after that.

>Once I commit, I commit. When Legendary offered me to do Dune, on a silver plate? Which was like my dream project that I’m dreaming to do for 30 years? I said yes right away. I want to honor that. It doesn’t mean the movie will happen, maybe in six months the movie will – and Bond is an old fantasy of mine, but I can’t be in two places at the same time. It’s a strange year because I would love to do a James Bond. I need to focus.
It sounds like he's been offered a perfect deal. I doubt BR will affect it. For one BR still did fairly well at the box office, it just also cost a considerable amount (it performed better than Arrival for example which was considered a success). On top of that, they already said that BR's performance hasn't affected Dune's production.
Maybe they'll change their minds when it comes time to film it, but for now I'd assume it was still going ahead.

probably not,
but just imagine it though, and star wars flopps hard while this movie does good,
wouldn't that be delicious?

yeah but then you'd be disappointed with this movie cause you set your expectations too high.

I hope you're right, I'm not getting my hopes up. that he's agreed to a deal (if he has) does not mean that it can't be cancelled by the studio, or that it will at least be delayed until 2020, after star wars (competing with the last film of a series that big is suicide). nothing solid has happened yet

>turning the series into the GoT of science fiction is sure to draw normie shekels with the visceral violence, blood and sex.
It will only have violence and blood, and people calling each other niggers. Maybe some feet scenes, but no sex

I'm not entirely sure how that works as a response to what I said. Did you mean to reply to someone else?

I really don't care, these movie are blockbusters. Flavor of the month and nothing else.

It's kind of like how ((they)) are both behind the globalist and nationalist movements. lol

>Paramount may well develop the balls to face Star Wars head on after that.

Why? Why would Paramount do such a stupid thing? It make zero sense.

Please be true. Please let the film be intelligent without being hokey or overwrought.

>Solo is going to flop hard. That will be two duds in a row

Holy shit yes he has to make this movie a masterpiece Disney needs to fall

What if this was Gene Roddenberry's dream? Of destroying mass manipulative corporations?

Nice meme, but two things:
>Tarantino's next flick will be the Manson film he's been working on and talking about for ages (current release date of August 2019)
>Tarantino's Star Trek will have nothing to do with the current film series, which I'm sure Paramount hasn't finished milking yet
This isn't coming out in 2019

I can't wait for the akimbo phaser fights.

That's pure speculation, and even if it flops it is just a spin-off that even hardcore fans don't care about, and again, no sane company would like to compete against Star Wars.

Tarantino knows what's garbage and he doesn't like shit efforts like the webm you posted he would probably make a forward rendition to the tng ds9 since Patrick is all in on this

Apart from some stupid visuals and uncharismatic main character, STD is unironically really good.

>that webm
What the literal fuck? Why would you even...?
WHAT IS THIS!?

>STR vs DEX

Tarantino is working on both. He's already written the next film he is directing and is working on writing another film which is star trek. This is pretty common knowledge. OP isn't revealing anything new there.

I would bet anything star trek does not come out in the same month as star wars. Paramount won't gamble on success out of spite. They'll lose money. I could see a star trek movie coming out in 2019 though. They just need to start filming before October 2018 to get it done in time.

>"n-nani!?"
>"such speed"

> *teleports behind you*
> Nothing personnel, kid

Pre Kirk Enterprise has a mushroom drive that teleports the ship through the entire universe. I'm not making this up btw.

>He's already written the next film he is directing and is working on writing another film which is star trek
Yes, that is common knowledge, it's also essentially what I said. It doesn't mean they'll be filmed concurrently or released around the same time. I don't see how they'll both come out in 2019. Especially since J.J. Abrams has a hand in both Star Trek and Star Wars - they're not going to compete.

Yep

link?

star trek if it was written by tite kubo?

>this is a mistake that will tank the film
Tarantino's films have humor at least. They don't take themselves entirely seriously, and they can even have a pretty positive worldview that maybe wouldn't satisfy Gene Roddenberry, but that could be made to work with ST overall.

This has the potential to be much better than JJTrek so far.

youtube.com/watch?v=QbmDpEhAp48
>set phasers to kill
I want this movie to happen so much.

Star Trek Beyond was memorable tho.

Pleb status: confirmed

>Especially since J.J. Abrams has a hand in both Star Trek and Star Wars - they're not going to compete.

Regardless of this Star Trek would get destroyed at the box office being near star wars. Families and troves of normies/casuals go to see star wars. This would kill star trek. Paramount is not that dumb. They ARE dumb, don't get me wrong, but this will likely be a 2020 film.

The real question - prime or kelvinverse?
