The honest and objective answer? Not a damn thing.

The lead actor initially. But also didnt need to be 3 movies

Everything

>LotR-lite
>duology was prolonged into a trilogy
>no proper pre-production period
>overreliance on CGI

The movie felt like a conveyor belt of theme park rides. The plot was barely their.

>bad cgi

Del Toro crashing out of the project and still being paid $2 Million for it

This was the snowball that become an avalance

>The lead actor initially

He was one of the best things about it though. If anything, the fact that Bilbo is completely sidelined in favour of boring dwarf and elf drama is the trilogy's biggest flaw.

Qt Evangeline didn't get gangbanged by orcs.

>Muh prep-time

Objectively wrong he was a terrible actor and kindof a cunt

Martin Freeman has the same mannerisms no matter what character he plays, it's really distracting.

Nah, he's a good actor and popular opinion is on my side about that, making you objectively wrong.

Never noticed.

It tried to be a LOTR prequel trilogy and a kid-friendly series at the same time

Also:
Shitty CGI action sequences
One film too many
Production problems

Fucking Del Toro
Worthless love story plotline
Focusing on Gandalf too much, which undermined the importance of Bilbo's quest

Nothing it was p good

I didn't watch Hobbit but I saw him in Fargo and Sherlock Holmes, it's kinda true. I don't think Watson was supposed to be this "passive" in the series, he is almost like the guy he plays on Fargo but with a little more balls. When he is discussing with someon he always interrupts himself and stay quiet for a little and start to speak softly.

Couldn't decide if it wanted to be light-hearted fairy tale or nuLOTR. You can't juggle those sorts of tones.

Also shouldn't have been stretched out for shekels.

All the scenes that were lifted directly from the book were kino

>dwarves in bagend
>rivendell
>riddles in the dark
>biblos speed about home
>spider forest
>escape from the elves
>smaug and bilbo talking
>Bars killing smaug
>thorins death

This should’ve been the entire movie but Hackson wanted elf dwarf sex instead.

3 fucking movies 3!!? FOR ONE BOOK?!?! I WAS SO FUCKING PISSED WHEN I WENT TO THE FIRST MOVIE AND IT ENDED. I WAS LIKE WAT

It should of just stayed true to the source material a comfy adventure.

Thats all anyone wanted. Having them constantly harassed by orcs because PJ's wife wanted to write in a whole new plot line ruined that.

Also
>sand worms

The dragon was supposed to have 4 legs not 2.

how much did all they new tech bullshit they tried to include (48fps etc) hurt the movie?
i think the movies look like complete dog shit

yep totally agree probably could of fit that into one movie since like lotr had 4 hour long movies

Bloom.

>stop speaking and walking, open mouth, pause, close mouth, shift eyes upward, look confused, say something, start walking again

like whenever they got to going on their comfy adventure i was happy then they gotta bring up the necromancer and tie into lotr

like they wanted to make them prequels

Pacing was out of whack. Two movies would have been good.

Spider Forest was shit.
Film people seem to have no idea what makes spiders terrifying. They always turn them into silly hissing or clicking cartoon monsters.

There was no atmosphere either thanks to daylight darkness.

I hate that they glossed over the hunger aspect of being in the forrest. It sounded like they were near starvation.

Too many dwarves. The book isn't suited for a movie. The best bits were the tacked on LOTR tie-in scenes

>The best bits were the tacked on LOTR tie-in scenes
