I wanted to get into capeshit. so Sup Forums could you suggest me comic, movie, animated series or any cape related stuff of DC or Marvel.

Batman the animated series goes without saying.

From there you may as well check out the rest of the DCAU, just be prepared to not know who the fuck anyone is by the time you get to justice league, because that show expects you to be familiar with every character to some extent.

I already finished the 90s one or is there any other BTAS after that

also will do

Are you only willing to read new comics, or are you OK with old stuff?

ANYTHING is fine user

What characters are you most interested in?

On DC side, it's Flash

On Marvel, Gwenpool

Some safe picks for beginners--

Batman: Year One
Superman: Man For All Seasons
Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 1

There is only one true starting point.
Make sure to listen to the original radio broadcasts as well.

Marvel Knights: Spider-Man
Batman Europa

>Gwenpool
You need to know that the only part about Gwenpool that's any good is the creative team. If you're interested in Gwenpool from the concept it's a sign of shit taste, but Chris Hastings is a great comedy writer and Gurihiru draws the cutest things on the fucking planet.

>MARVEL
Frank Miller's Daredevil (at the very least you NEED to read the Born Again story arc)
Silver Surfer Requiem
Garth Ennis' Punisher (minimum required reading: Welcome Back Frank and Born followed by The Tyger followed by The Cell followed by the first 60 issues of the MAX series with the Barracuda miniseries mixed in there somewhere after the Barracuda arc on the MAX series)
Amazing Spider-Man up through the 80s (Spider-Man was amazingly solid for the first couple decades or so)
Planet Hulk
Nextwave
Foolkiller (the ORIGINAL 10 issue miniseries by Steve Gerber ONLY)

>DC
Flash volume 2 starting from #62 (minimum required reading: Mark Waid's 1st run followed by Geoff Johns' run, though it's worth reading everything in between)
The Dark Knight Returns
Batman Year One (which you can read here: )
The Killing Joke
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Grant Morrison's Batman
Mad Love (if you like the animated series it's also worth reading the comics based on that)
Geoff Johns' Action Comics
All Star Superman
Superman For All Seasons
For the Man Who Has Everything
Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
Superman and Batman - World's Funnest
JLA #1-90 (the 90s/2000s version, NOT the 2010s version)
Grant Morrison's Animal Man
Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing (read at least the first 2 issues before you decide if you like it or not, TRUST ME)
Geoff Johns' JSA (basically the whole series that started around 1999 until it relaunches as Justice Society of America and then maybe continue reading that even)

I also really like 80s and 90s Punisher, but that might be slightly more of an acquired taste. Check out the weekly storytime threads we're doing of it on Sup Forums if you like the Punisher stuff recommended above.

the only concept that interest me in gwenpool is being powerless in a cape comic.and yes the design.

Thanks user

>being powerless in a cape comic

Is she even powerless though?

I hated capeshit until I forced myself to start watching Teen Titans after seeing Sup Forums talk about it so much. Couldn't stop.
I still hate most capeshit.

that's the problem tho, she's powerless but doesn't seem like one

OP and this other capeshit hating user. Not sure if you're still here.
There's this one web serial that's over a million words that is undoubtedly one of the best original capeshit stories of all time.
Basically an Earth like ours where people from one point onward can develop powers after extreme trauma. Main character, a bullied high school girl, becomes a top tier supervillain. And that's the most I can say without spoiling anything. Try reading to Part 5 or 6 before you decide to continue or stop, because there's a LOT of shit to read.

i'm always here, for the next few hour.

>parahumans/worms
already added to list of things to read but never actually bothered to read it, maybe if there's a physical copy, i might actually read it.

90s and early 00s DC had the DCAU (DC animated universe)
Basically kept the voice actors for the characters for BatmanTAS and SupermanTAS so kids who watched those could keep going.
There was also a Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Static Shock.

So if ya liked BTAS then give the rest of the DCAU a look.

There was also around 2008 Batman the Brave and the Bold. A lot closer to silver age silliness but a great cartoon to get to know more lesser known characters.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2.

JUSTICE LEAGUE ACTION is a currently airing cartoon
it's pretty good
