This REALLY has to be said

This REALLY has to be said:

The Mandator-IV is a PRACTICAL warship, god damn it.

First off, with 26 large cannons on top, it can easily deal with most threats moving slower than an X-wing at full speed. Anything above the ship can be shredded by the turrets, while anything under it can be obliterated by the autocannons.

Canady was an experienced captain, but was not used to commanding a dreadnought whose main purpose was bombardment and not combat.

General Hux took a prank call in battle, too.

There are a lot of contributing factors to its destruction, but that it was not a good warship was certainly not one of them.

>"practical"
>7 kilometers long
>main guns drawing gigawatts of power
>despite size covered in composite plating
>"practical"

bait

it's fucking star wars
turn your brain off goy

Same composite armor and design from the walker. Wow, creative.

its just a walker with space

super fucking slow

This sounds very similar to the aluminum vs iron copy pasta

>PRACTICAL warship
but why not just hyperspeed ram it

IRON IS FUCKING BETTER
FIRST ORDER STEEL IS BETTER THAN EITHER

Batteries on computer nearly drained. Until then, I will fight for the practicality and usefulness of the Mandator-IV class.

FIRST ORDER STEEL

where did the fo take the resources from to build these things?

The unknown regions..

Rust

If its such a great warship then why can it be crippled by one fighter? Get real. It's a wonder the first order conquered anything

It's mass shadow isn't large enough.

>The unknown regions
what a fucking cop out. Things like these work in stories like Buffy where there are several supernatural dimensions that are only opened by magical keys and shit but this shouldn't fly in Star Wars where they have FTL travel and had several millenia to plot the galaxy

FUCK YOU
FIRST ORDER STEEL!

The main guns are weaker than an orbital bombardment easily done with two normal star destroyers tho.

>Mandator-III is a beautiful heavily armed star destroyer
>non-canon thanks to Disney
>Mandator-IV is an ugly flat triangle so thin that the reactor sticks out the top where it can be destroyed by a single bomber
>canon
The mouse must really hate selling toy space ships.

Remember when all the POINT DEFENCE WEAPONS couldn't keep up with the normal main fighter?

Great post. And if I recall the EU there never really were "unknown regions", the outer rim was pretty much as close as you could get, but mostly because it was a lot of shitty local crimelords and planets no one cares about.
