What was even the point of this character? He did nothing!

What was even the point of this character? He did nothing!

Jared Leto tries way too hard to impress the critics - ends up playing himself. Many such cases!

why r u guys takling like donald trumb

also nice 2 dobbles odds :DD

Dude god complex lmao

And profits

*scowls blindly at you*

*croaks voice*

the point was that he showed the globak side - he explained that Wallace Corp didnt want the daughter because "hurr durr muh evil corporation is evil" but because they wanted to save the human race by using a selfreplicating disposable workforce to help them colonise the stars and escape the solar system

he is the motivator behind Luv - she is desperate for his approval and this informs her actions throughout the film

you just made that up yourself

no i didnt
Wallace flat out says all this during his monologue when he kills the failed replicant. he even says "8 planets are not enough" or some shit

and in the intro its established that he saved the human race from famine
Wallace has a God complex and is obsessed with saving humanity at any cost

What was the point of taking Deckard off-world again?

To get the memes that would make him talk.

how did luv get back in the bolice building after she stole the bones and killed the guy?

Yeah him and Gooseman should've had a big battle at the end and PUNCHED each other like DBZ

Well do you really expect the massive replicant operation to go away just because Tyrell's eyes were gouged out?

The Wallace character is there to show that we must always remain vigilant. As soon as you strike down an evil oppressor, a new one will rise to fill their place.

They were going to shoot him before throwing him out of a ship if he didn't talk.

>evil
>oppressor
How?

>Wallace has a God complex and is obsessed with saving humanity at any cost

Humanity was already saved. His farming did that. he just wanted us to spread. We weren't spreading fast enough for his liking. And the replicant wasn't a failure. It was newly born. He killed it just because he could.

He wanted the replicants to be able to breed so he could build slaves.

The replicants wanted to be able to breed so they wouldn't be slaves.

Um.

Well clearly Tyrell/Wallace are both cardboard cutouts of the Demiurge.

I was kind of expecting that but with katanas, user

He killed the replicant because it couldn't reproduce.

But if he needs replicants it`s a pretty dumb thing to waste one.

memelord leto is just damaged. hopefully this kills his career

One is a drop in the ocean. He needs billions.

They needed him for Harley Quinn's backstory

and why did deckard think it was safe to go see and his daughter after the hover car crash? surely he must have known that not-tyrell would have been monitoring the car visually as well and would have seen everything that happened.

>visually
He doesn't have eyes bruh.

he has flying robot eyes. probably orbital ones that were monitoring the crash as well.

>He did nothing!
Yeah... Nothing wrong.

>solves world hunger
>brings about a new era of human expansion
>somehow still the bad guy

They were going to show him the beauty and opulence that humanity was capable of so he would try to help them in their wish to build more colonies by giving him the location of the baby.

I know this is a controversial opinion on Sup Forums but

slavery is wrong

owning a microwave is immoral?

Oscar Isaac should've played Wallace. He was the perfect evil tech CEO in Ex Machina.

That movie sucked dick.

Originally it was supposed to be David Bowie

To get the children to tip their wannabe film buff hats. it's why they got Deakins and the fincher 2.0 to director as well

Microwaves aren't sentient.

They also were planning to cast Gary Oldman as Wallace. Fuck, if they actually had cast Oldman this would've been a legit 10/10.

>Go ahead Luv, come get a piece of this Deckard HONKA HONKA
What did he mean by this?

>Dude business is bad. LMAO!
Inconsequential lessser opinon discarded.

This movie sucked overall. It was like new Star Wars. Soft reboot trying to set up a sequel or trilogy.

Should have just been a self contained story like the original without having to bring back Harrison Ford to fight people in slow motion.

Typical trope in cyberpunk dystopias, Wallace Corp has more power and influence than a government could ever hope to have

it's certainly not good but in a dystopian/post-apocalyptic world such as the one in this movie, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. it might even be a preferable alternative for some people.

like what >92488290 said, he acts as the driving force behind Luvs actions. An instance you can see this is at the end; when she kisses K after stabbing him, it was to mirror how Wallace kissed the Replicant model before killing her earlier in the film.

I also think it was to have a human character show no "humanity" to anything, acting like a God, while you have the Replicants acting more "humane" or "human" in a sense. You could also delve deeper by going with the whole "eyes are the window to the soul" thing but I'm too absolutely baked right now to wanna try and type all that.

hes a metaphor for satan. hes blinded by his arrogance and greed, wants everything beautiful. creates "angels" that are flawed unlike tyrells perfect one Rachel. like satan he can only corrupt not create, he lacks the ability of a true God. so he desperately tries to become God by finding that missing link. He plays humans with Joy, a false happiness mass produced to dull everyone, and keeps Love to himself, yet belittles and rejects Love at every turn showing he does not have the capacity and corrupts Love into Hate.

He talks about storming Eden and taking it back, like the serpent who was kicked out for corrupting the first humans. He wants the stars, the heavens that God wont allow him to take because Wallace cannot find the true key to Creation. He tempts our hero Deckard, the Christ figure in the story (sacrificing his life as a father to protect his child) with a false Rachel. He is rebuked and instantly has the false one disposed of.

Would you like to know more?

You'd understood if you'd seen the first movie. He was going to show Deckard c beams and shit

What if they were?
