Well this fucking sucks. How did he go from In Bruges to this terribly written shit?

Well this fucking sucks. How did he go from In Bruges to this terribly written shit?

In Bruges is insufferable garbage

/thread

it's not as good as in bruges, but it is better than seven shitopaths. sam rockwell is 10/10 in this

>implying In Bruges wasn't the biggest meme flick of 2008

fpbp

I liked all three.

In Bruges > Three Billboards > Seven Psychopaths

seven shitopaths started out ok but went to shit halfway into it

Spot on. I can't believe this is bookies favourite for 'best picture' desu

Why did you not like it? I'm a Sup Forums-tier racist, so I was to some limited degree irritated by certain elements of tone and message, but I truly liked this film.

Does it get better after half way? It's so grimdark and boring so far, and the writing. Is horribly contrived.

KINO OF THE YEAR
ULTIMATE PLEB FILTER 2017
BASED MOVIE
BASED SAM ROCKWELL

You better just stop now, if you don't like the first half, I doubt you will like the rest.

It's just buffling
Erratical mood swings, forced writing, insufferable main character, based woody died way too early
Sam Rockwell was kino tho
I just cant see it being in my top 10 for the year, and it was a really bad year at that, generally

>forced writing

what the fuck is that even supposed to mean?

I stated that badly
Characters were written to.act in a forced way
Think of the deer monologue scene, or the one where woody's wife meets her at the shop

there's nothing wrong with the shop scene wtf

unironically a good film with well developed characters
I just didn't like the ending
going to Idaho to kill a man who 100% didn't kill your daughter

Subjective I guess
I would rewatch that scene if I were you though

None of the characters are even a little bit likeable. Yeah, I know, they're not supposed to be, but I feel like I'm not rooting for anyone. I just don't get it.

they said they weren't sure about it but were taking a drive anyway

In bruges was shit too m80

>karaktuurz need ta B likabuuuul

itt: when plebs encounter patrician media

it was shit though.

>we need an old black cop

say no more

you just revealed yourself to be pleb as well

>How did he go from In Bruges to this terribly written shit?
by making seven psychopaths in between

i thought logan lucky was a far more entertaining american character study. don't get the appeal of any of mcdonagh's work.

really, you didn't even like the chief? the fuck did he do wrong?

Logan Lucky was a lot better than I expected.

none of that seemed out of character to me.

Every character is written as more intelligent than they would be, apart from Sam Rockwell, who is written as a full retard. It's so fucking bad.

I get that characters don't have to be likeable, but the main character was so insufferable I wished the car crashed at the end instead of driving away into the sunset.

I guess it was his plan to make her an insufferable cunt
Or at least I hope so

That was kind of the point, yes

Her negligence got her daughter raped and killed, so she became incredibly bitter

I felt very bad for her son throughout the whole movie, he suffered the most

Him, and Red. They were cute.

is this movie funny or comfy like In Bruges?

It's neither. It's bleak and miserable and all the "black comedy" is shit.

He became a self hating racist.

His best work, desu.

nah. Didn't do anything interesting.

the fuck is wrong with you?

>it has to be interesting

pretty disappointing and straight forward movie, however i did enjoy the way harrelson's character's arc played out, probably the best part of the movie other than when rockwell was talking to his mom about her going down to the station to get his job back

something like "momma, dont no cops want a cops momma coming to the station to ask to get rid of a black cop!... the south has changed", that line had me in stitches tbf

This movie the ultimate pleb filter. Still to star wars.
