Admit it, Rian was right, the Snoke theories sucked

Such as this one that theorized Snoke was actually Porkins. (yes, really)

also this is mainly Kennedy's fault where she DIDNT FUCKING PLAN OUT A THREE MOVIE STORY

fuck off, it would have been really cool if it was Mace Windu

Just because some theories suck doesn't mean he has to just kill off the big bad and not explain anything

But he died.

TAKE THAT RIDICULOUS THING OFF

well it wouldn't have been cool otherwise, would it?

>Your theory sucks about the main villain
>Therefore, I'm going to kill him and explain nothing
Johnson is worse at writing than SW fans. At least they had a backstory.

No, it would have made no fucking sense.
1) He died.
2) If he survived, why did he just turn to the dark side all of a sudden?
3) HE FUCKING DIED.

Lucasfilm already has a secret backstory for him. They're just saving it for a novel or something, IDK.

yeah it's not like Darth Maul is canonically (DISNEY canonically) still alive or anything.

Mesa dark lord of the sith! Yousa die now, jedi.

He was canonically alive before Disney bought SW. Because he was the best part of TPM and Lucasfilm suddenly felt bad for wasting him

But Disney won't touch the prequels with a 39 1/2-foot pole. (Aside from Darth Maul and the Clone Wars cartoon)

Even having a theory is better than being a lazy asshole and just killing him off without giving any sort of background into how this extremely powerful force user poped up out of fucking nowhere this late in the series.

THEN BUY BATTLEFRONT II AND MAYBE WE'LL TELL YOU IN A DLC OR SOMETHING

Not only that, but he managed to inherit a notoriously xenophobic, humanist empire and return it to its former glory in a matter of decades, despite not being human himself. Snoke is the odd-man out in the series, and it baffles me that the SW writers aren't explaining his success in the series. Kinda like Rey's existence.

I kind of feel that idea applies to the whole movie, that idea of nothing being explained and nothing actually going anywhere story wise, everything is just...vague. In a strange sort of way, its like the whole tone and theme of this movie.

Except they cancelled the Clone Wars as soon as they got Lucasfilm

Because the Jedi were so compromised by the Clone War that they lost their way. The last time we see him he's about to assassinate the Chancellor and take control of the Republic

Because Palpatine was actually a Sith Lord, THAT'S why he was trying to kill him

Honestly and non ironically
This is literally (and without a doubt) the only thing that could save the Star Wars episode 9
