Raimi Spider-Man was flawless in general

i love spider man 2
although avengers 1 is still my greatest of all time movie

It's strange to say this, but I like this version of Doctor Octopus way, way more than the comic version. He's just a lot more nuanced.

He's basically The Lizard as far as backstory goes.

I was pretty underwhelmed when it came out. Like, it wasn't bad, but it just felt like another one. The whole "Spiderman loses his powers and then doesn't" plot could have been handled better, and I actually laughed to myself at how cheesy the unmasking scene on the train was.

That's not how you spell Burton Batman OP.

>"it's a visual medium"fags still lapping up the theatrics of Spider-Man 2 while ignoring its heavily flawed writing
The best Spider-Man movie still belongs to Raimi's first. I don't even mind the origin story stuff, everyone is already so well defined in character it's enjoyable to watch them develop.

Funny enough Raimi couldn't out do himself with SM2 and 3. Amazing was supbar and I'd even go as far to say appeared to lazily copy from SM1 in some themes yes, I know it's all Spidey so you can only deviate so far but the similarity of the mutation triggered personality switch, drive for revenge due to not being recognized for his work and an obsession with Parker that ends with him tragically realizing what kind of person he's become Connors developed to Osborn is a little too on the nose. The Lizard is usually a little more Wolfman than Edward Hyde, and so far I can't say Homecoming looks bad but it doesn't seem very compelling especially since it's fielding a lot of Spider-Man THROUGH Stark which is only diluting things.

Maybe when Sony and Marvel grow some balls after it sells well enough they'll feel confident enough to make an actual Spider-Man solo and not some sort of piggyback feature.

Anyway you guy can enjoy your thread, the fight choreography of SM2 and 3 was actually really good for Spidey, I'm just saying I'm never going to let the record go unchecked that SM1 is undefeated as a complete package even if it falls short in select places.

>so far I can't say Homecoming looks bad but it doesn't seem very compelling
where's the contradiction in this? why the 'but'?

"This pie isn't bad, but it could be better"

>All that CGI shit
>good

>I can't say Homecoming looks bad but it doesn't seem very compelling

After the ASM series I'll take that.

I liked amazing spiderman 2 more. Worse story by far, but the color and action was way more comic book to me.

pls no bully ;_;

Yeah, no, fuck you and give me your lunch money and innocence faggot.

why isn't apocalypse and wolverine origins in the last tier?

I like the first one better.

Hated the "Lose my powers for no reason" plot

So Bad They Boomerang To Good Tier
>Wolverine Origins
>Batman and Robin

Forgot to add that. As for Apocalypse, I actually forgot it existed.

There was a reason.

;_;

The colors were so pretty and he went full comic book in the first electro fight. It was so cash.

I think the Spiderman trilogy is the best cape trilogy ever. But i honestly like Spiderman 3 more than 2. It has more action, comedy and feels

amazing spider man 1 was fucking trash as well

>Spider-Man 2
>flawless

>Peter's dilemma is how his life as Spider-Man is interfering with his life as Peter Parker
>this is never resolved by the end of the film

What time was it again?

Despite my earlier vitriol I don't and can't hate the 2nd movie entirely.
Perhaps emotion is fogging my memory, but as far as I can recall now I don't think I've ever felt a moment as powerful as the zoom out at the end of the train fight.

Most would go for the spectacle of the fight before that or the scene where the passengers carrying and defending Spider-Man after, but my meat is in the middle of that sandwich because what would usually seem like almost comedic camera work in anything else actually worked really well here. Probably because of what Spider-Man is and is capable of.

The zoom is implied to be his common sense and spider-sense kicking into high gear causing him to become hyper aware of the danger ahead. To an almost paralyzing degree in fact, but he has to act quickly anyway because if he hesitates or flees everyone behind him unaware of what's going to happen will all die.

Let me really get into this here to flesh out what I meant by what Spider-Man is and is capable of. Normally it's in the nature of something with an early warning system to simply evade danger, to escape to safety and leave everything else behind, but Peter can't be a coward despite his instincts for self-preservation reaching superhuman levels and screaming for him to do so. Not after what happened the last time, what happened to Ben.

So in the silence of a few seconds so much was said the instant he starts making efforts to keep everyone safe while endangering himself at the forefront.
