Should I Re-watch Wayside?

I didn't care much about Maurecia, I actually liked the nerd girl Dana and the other one who was always sleeping.

The fat black kid and the black principal fucking kill the show. You cant even stomach some episodes because they're so shitty.

Nearly all episode revolve around Mauricia and Todd, which is fine, but its a boring love subplot. I don't even think there's an episode centered on the girl that always sleep a lot.

I never read the books or was never forced to read the books during school. I'm sure reading these were part of some curriculum, because I dont think I'd ever read them. The illustrations look gross,

but if its a good read then I can see why others may not like the cartoon.

Someone link me to some episodes. I remember weirdly liking this show when I was a kid, that one summer they aired it at like 10 am.

Also my animating style looks kind of like the screencaps I see so that kind of tells me I'm not *total* shit.

First episode is weirdly likable for how cheap it feels. I think I read the first book as a kid but that was probably 20 years ago so I have no recollection.

Its a good enough concept with enjoyable characters, I could see a reimagining on adult swim being good as long as they did it tastefully.

I did, mostly because it was a pretty fun show that wasn't too serious and was a nice way to kill half an hour. It wasn't true to the books, but I don't think Wayside School books would generally translate well into an actual television show, barring a few stories here and there. Also, waifufags will waifu, regardless of the topic of thread.

I would sneak around my house at 3AM to watch the show on Nicktoons Network after they took it off air. I remember being mega bummed out when Nick pulled it, since it was solid compared to the rest of Nick's lineup at the time.

Surreal, yes. But not in the same way as the books. It mostly uses the school and characters for nonsensical slapstick.
