The cooler idea i had was the trial of a time lord: the master edition. So you have the master on trial as he is before the telemovie, and he doesnt try to raise any defense; instead he tries to just convince the daleks they have to let him escape to kill the doctor. The daleks dont consider him enough of a threat, so they arent about to consider it; but then he promises a story to change their minds; a story that has to be about alt universe docs or his friends to prove how dangerous he is. One story to hold off execution, which leads to another and another(like 1001 arabian nights) until finally they agree to let him try to kill the doctor, and he goes ahead with his plan(the tv movie)
So, what do people know about their plans for the next Doc? Drama, comedy? Will she be chipper or just another sad sack all emo about being old? Will the companion be another modern earth girl? Will there be romantic overtones?
What's /who/ with you? What Doctor Who media have you lately consumed?
My responses to the last thread:
------------------------------------
Is there anything particularly wrong with calling a spade a spade? I say it how I see it.
If that is your definition, then so be it; I won't argue over minutiae.
And how did my post give you that impression? Literally nothing in my post would indicate anything you said. I think it is you who is a sad, little man, undoubtedly you have no girlfriend, no friends, no job, no nothing. Whereas I have all of these things and more, I have interests outside of Doctor Who and I'm truly sorry that you get so worked up over a telly show.
Say what you will about the site as a whole, but this general is something else; just people endlessly wanking off the show and shouting down anyone who dares say anything vaguely against the turn it has taken.
The thing is there are people who hold the same opinion in the general as me, they just don't often voice their thoughts for fear of being shouted down or cast out from their little, secret club. Whereas I don't give a fuck about people slinging hate at me, I can take it and I honestly hold no blame or anger against those who won't stand with me.
Seems I hit a little too close to home? I'm sorry that you felt the need to try and be a little shit to me. Maybe next time you won't try and treat other posters like a mug and expect them not to fire back?
Got a friend into NuWho, loves it, will be finished in about a month. I feel I should give a random Classic story as an example before throwing them into it. I was thinking Fenric? Enlightenment, maybe?

>/who/ presents:
DOCTOR WHO: SHIT TRIPS Vol. 2.5
- The Anthology -
>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?
>Have you ever written down a sequence of words?
If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the third /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction, because following the success of Shit Trips 1 and 2, /who/ has started another anthology of wondrous tales. God help us.
This time, the rules will be a tad different, as in we actually have rules now. The stories must be about:
> alternate Doctors (original Doctors, fanmade Doctors, Unbound Doctors, Doctors of wild divergence from canon)
> spinoff characters from audios, books, comics, etc (Torchwood, Erimem, Faction Paradox, Vienna, Sarah Jane Adventures, Iris Wildthyme, etc)
>companion focused stories (stories with the companion facing a threat, or dealing with life, WITHOUT the Doctor)
Besides that, no limits (and your story can be in more than one category above).
>Can still be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck
Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them.
Rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't spam long texts in /who/ directly). (Pastebin or google drive works well.) And remember to mention, preferably in your work post, what you want your author moniker to be, which doesn't have to be your real name. Also, if you write in Shit Trips 2.5, Bill Potts will send you chips.
Remember, it doesn’t matter if it’s shit, just have fun! Deadline is April 2nd
When though.
Her delivery of her first line alone is a strong enough indicator that they are going the comic route.
Fenric might be a bit of a toughie just because of how dense it is, have you considered Remembrance?
You're memeing but I unironically like Battlefield and considered this, but no
Remembrance is probably the best one to give a NuWho fan. Also destroys the common idea that McCoy is shit.
I wanna fuck you in your little contrarian ass.
I wanna hear you squeal like a pig while streatch your boipussy.
>Will the companion be another modern earth girl?
companions*
And it seems guaranteed that they're all from contemporary Earth.
We already know what the companions are. It's not that hard to google.
Cringe. Sorry, but I'm not a bent, mental-case like two-thirds of this general.
Robots of Death is always my one I use.
>Her delivery of her first line alone is a strong enough indicator that they are going the comic route.
This feels intuitively correct to me, but based on Twelve's very first line, you would think he was a scatterbrained jokey professor who can't fly his TARDIS.
This idea is pretty good, actually. An 1001-style story...I feel maybe changing it from explicitly "pre-TVM" would be best.
>I'm not a bent, mental-case
>comes in the General almost everyday just to spam the same shit over and over again.
Ok but here's an important question.
Who's your daddy and why is it me?
Then why don't you voice some of those opinions? All I've seen you do since you've shown up here is attack, belittle and give vague descriptions of eras you like. If you really liked pre-Moffat Who, discuss it. People who agree with you will come out of the woodwork.
Love it. I'm inspired to make one of my own now.
Lest we forget 'No second chances. I'm that sort of a man.'
If you do, do it with Bill and Nardole
I go back and forth on mccoy. I think his tv era was really good, but I think people give him more credit than he deserves because the vnas delivered consistent kino. My image of mccoy has only been damaged by his early big finish output, which is spotty at best. Recent releases have been great but I can't think of anything that isnt at best forgettable in the first... 50 Big Finish Monthlies? Besides Master. Master is great.
I was planning on doing it with just Nardole actually! But Bill too makes sense because of the whole Extremis stuff making it hard to fit adventures in with just Twelve/Nardie.
Which are usually your favorite episodes the earthbound ones or the ones that take place in space?
I don't have a preference, depends on a story.
Not really, I'm fully expecting BF to release stories involving Twelve and Nardole pre-The Pilot, probably called The Vault or something
However, Ten's first actual line was "Barcelona!" The way he delivered it actually feels consistent with his Doctor. Similarly, Six's "Change my dear, and not a moment too soon!" is pretty indicative of his personality. But neither shows the tone of their respective personalities.
So, perhaps the rule is: the first line of a Doctor is indicative of the Doctor's personality, but not of the tone of his/her stories.
(Fun question: What does Eight's "WHO AM I?" line say about him?)
in all honesty my favourite format is probably BUS
Remembrance of the Daleks
>What does Eight's "WHO AM I?" line say about him?
That he doesn't know who he is?
Hardly spamming the same stuff over and over, if it's pertinent to the conversation, I'll post my opinions on it. I'm not forcing my views on anyone, rather, providing an explanation as to why Nu Who is so interminably bad.
There's two kinds of Nu Who fan on this general: One who wanks to BBC porn and one who wanks to trannies.
I often do! I have posted about the periods I do like, the actors who I enjoyed but I'm often met with a response derogatory of Classic Who. It just gets utterly tiring that on a general that is supposed to encompass the whole of the Who-sphere, there is zero discussion on the classics. It would be fine if this general was called '/nuwho/' so you specifically knew that it is for Nu Who discussion and that Classic discussion is not welcome; but it is not and that is my big issue.
You could. I just love the idea that when the doctor is not around The Master can play the daleks for schmuck bait and convince the target off himself and onto the doctor instead
No, I was referencing in the "what does the delivery of the first line say about each Doctor?" I was (jokingly) hinting that the line reveals that Eight is an indecisive drama queen. (Note: Eight, especially book 8, is one of my favorite Doctors).
Stop evading your fucking ban.
...
>there is zero discussion on the classics.
We discuss Classic Who all the time on here.
Fuck off faker
have many nuwho companions done audio adventure? I know Catherine Tate has.
Google it retard
Fuck you. I asked a fair question to steer a discussion. And you wonder why /who/ is dying. You lot jusf insult anyine who asks a genuine question.
Why are you such a colossal faggot?
Catherine Tate, Camille Coduri, and Billie Piper.
Ignore the troll. Just giving him what he wants.
I was joking dude no need to get your pussy in a bunch.
>Tells people to ignore trolls
>but at the same time responds to the most obvious bait and Judy
Fuck off
>forgetting a companion true
Am I mis-remembering remembrance wrong or is John confused?
He mentions that the imperial Daleks hated Davros, but I thought the imperials were on his side?
Imperial so called because they worked for the emperor who was Davros.
Throughout the book, the regular daleks are referred to as grey, but the ones on the cover are silver/blue (albeit invert colours).
I really hope the Doctor missing Skaro with the HoO is just an epic prank and not canon in the slightest. Haven't finished the book yet.
Also the Dalek's speech mannerisms aren't quite right in my opinion.
Jenna Coleman
So this is what you should do: let /who/ die. Just let this old thread gather dust. No one can open it, no one will even notice it. Let it become a strange little thing lurking on an archive. And over the hours, the world will move on, and the thread will be buried. And if you wanna remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all, one thing. Have a good life. Do that for me, user. Have a fantastic life.
that was not me
War of the Daleks is one of those books that everyone just ignores.
>posting this when thread is active
nice trips though
Fuck off Faker
What makes John Peel's two Dalek novels universally hated? I haven't read them.
fuck you offensive copycat
>The Two Judys
Is it shit or is it kino?
how to prove who's the real one?
Overuse of batman toy Daleks
Oh no, here comes torpedo dalek! see how he glides effortlessly through water.
Watch out for the attacking Kill Cruiser flying overhead.
timestamped selfie is the only way desu. And that's only going forward
Barely. Whenever I hop on it's a 24/7 wankfest for Nu Who. The people on here don't have any appreciation for classics, they can't sit through a movie or show unless it is HD or has 100 explosions going off at the same time. They don't have any appreciation for anything pre-80s, they want their fast-food telly that doesn't provoke a neuron of thought and it is truly gut-wrenching.
copycat? I think you're the copycat around here. You're comparing yourself to me that's cringey as fuck.
You're not even good enough to be my fake.
Thats easy...
BILL IN SERIES 10 IS ________
I tried making a cutout of the BF logo as well as I could in the highest res I could find.
Les Blackie
Mate, we were just talking about Death to the Daleks a handful of threads ago.
>Why are you talking about the current season?
That's literally what you sound like right now.
We literally talking about our favorite classic Who episode a few minutes ago but you you were too buys bitching and moaning about stupid shit.
Isn't that inexplicably Briggs' favorite story?
You might like Planet Mondas. That might be more your speed.
One of his favorites, yes. Beyond the memes though, it's fairly comfy.
Everyone ITT is Cats
Say hi to Cats

Stop ban evading
They're both boring continuity porn.
War is especially infamous because Peel hates the character Davros and treats him like a moron, while glorifying his own OC donut steel character, the Dalek Prime. The whole point of the book is to kill Davros and undo the destruction of Skaro in Remembrance, by means of an absurd retcon of every Dalek story from Destiny onwards. Peel thus resets the Daleks to what they were in the 60s and early 70s, before Davros "ruined" them.
And that's not even the worst part: apparently, in the story Davros is meant to represent JNT while the Dalek Prime is Terry Nation.
Matt Smith is better at playing the Doctor than Peter Capaldi. With Peter, you can see that he's acting, he's struggling with trying to be alien, he's good, but he's just an actor. Matt Smith is, in fact, the Doctor himself. He's perfect at being young but wise. He is like The Doctor in real life too. He doesn't need to act, he is The Doctor.
bait
literally nonsense
When do we get the Jazz Hands Doctor?
Don't samefag faker. It makes you look pathetic.
are you using proxy?
Who's Erino?
I'm not memeing. It's my first Classic Who and I love it to bits.
>27
How many seasons do you think NuWho will reach? I'm calling 23
prolly BBC will fall first with sexual scandals, some years later it will going to get sold to netflix
That's the movie obviously.
Doctor Who is dead.
Fuck, yes PLEASE.
you are delusional
>Handful of threads ago
I can only assume I wasn't around, as I never see any talk at all regarding the classics. it's always convenient that I'm never in one of these threads where you discuss them too, very strange.
It is so surface, so boring a discussion to have. Never do you delve in to a deeper, more intelligent discussion of the Classics, only base 'favourite episode' talks. I want examinations, keen eyes and smart intrigue.
A dead forum? You must be joking, surely. Sup Forums is simply the most sensible option for my discussions, as I use the other boards as well, I just want to cultivate the general to be more open-minded and interested to my ideas and the appreciation of Classic Who telly.
It's kind of like comparing shit versus manure, they're both crap at the end of the day.
Hopefully one and done or, better yet; none. It would truly make my 2018 knowing that Nu Who would finally end and the besmirching of a beautiful, nostalgic show was over.
This is bait, but I want to use it as a jumping off point for an actual discussion. Which Doctor do you think did "alien" better? Or in what ways were they different? Who is the most "alien" NuWho Doctor?
15, the show will continue for a few years with mediocre ratings, then once Chibnall quits the BBC won't bother hiring anyone else.
>Which Doctor do you think did "alien" better?
Eccles
I want to see a Cats vs Snoke battle.
Start some discussion right now then. Lead us. Do it or stop being a faggot.
Why?
S5 Smith
Anyone still surprised that "Durrr NuWho is a stain on the Classic show" people still exist? It's been almost 13 years by this point. You'd think these people would move on with their lives instead. It's almost like seeing TOS fans complain that everything TNG and after shouldn't exist, or those loony Battlestar Galactica fans who hated the 00s show.
Not much more than 20.
