it's true

This

But it wasn't legal my lord

>Clones had to be brainwashed with a chip in their head to keep them from disobeying orders to attack the Jedi they were best buds with-TCW
>Robots were programmed to believe that they were fighting for freedom against the tyranny of the Republic-Rebels

Both bro-tier armies.

>brainwashed with a chip
This is not fucking cannon, fuck you Filoni ;_;

It's treason, then

I thought TCW was canon? If you're going to humanize the clones like that show did, you really can't have them obey an order like that out of free will.

i hated it at first but thinking about it, it's the only thing that makes sense.

Why would clones betray their jedi generals who they fought with for years in the clone wars because some stupid chancellor told them too?

Because they were clones, not regular people.
They were bred and raised to absolutely obedient.

but they were still people, the clone wars 3d really tried to hammer that message in.

I like to think that most Clones would've obeyed the order anyway. Not all legions had Jedi Generals and most probably didn't become close to them. The chips were just a safeguard to make sure that every Clone followed through with the order (or orders, since there were at least 66).

I agree, that was a strong discrepancy in the series. The clones often acted as casual as some fresh draftee in Vietnam.

They got taken for a ride by Dooku. If it wasn't for him then they would've literally been the good guys.

>Take orders from Jedi, trust them, eat meals together, sleep together, fight and die together, become war buddies, watch a 14 year old girl grow up before your very eyes like she's your daughter, unironically call her general because you respect her so much, watch them put their lives on the line for you countless times, rescue them, they rescue you, know you all by nicknames even though you're all clones, fashion identities thanks to the influence of the Jedi, who treat you like best friends

>Creepy holonet projector comes up with a dude dressed like Dracula and a voice like the devil comes on "Kill your best friends! I'm an important political guy, don't mind my pure EVIL or verify this order."

>"Lol okay orders are orders! :D"

Yeah no.

The maximum authority of your governemnt tells you that your war buddies have to be executed because there was a coup in which they were involved.
You have to choose between saving what you and your brothers fought and even died for or save your war buddies.
Add to the mix that you are conditioned to put the group above the individual and thus you or your feelings matter less than the cause, aka the security of Republic. And you can go even further to say that the clones knew that deep down the Jedi couldn't be really trusted or even knew that Order 66 was a reality that was going to happen sooner or later (as the 501st journal imply, then again, maybe they were the only ones that knew).
It did also give the oportunity to make some rogue clones either by them ditching the Republic in favour of their bros or disregarding the order as a trap.
In the end I think this implied alternative humanized them more than "lol just turn your brain off, good soldiers follow orders".
The only think that doesn't make sense in all of this is having Palpatine talking to the clones with his deep Sith voice and cloacked.

>ywn escape with a small fleet to the fringes of the galaxy and keep the dream alive
>ywn watch the republic become an oppressive empire just like you said
>ywn ride to the rescue of the rebels in your sector
>ywn watch them do it all over again

kill me bros

It's true, mostly. Pretty fucking evil for the Republic to make an army of clone slaves to send into a meat grinder "war" against mass produced robots. And the fact that the Jedi barely question it is exactly why they deserved to be wiped out. The actual systems that left the Republic just wanted freedom from a corrupt system and were used by the same corporate interests that helped create the corruption to begin with. They just never realized that Count Dooku was a Sith just like the Republic had no idea Palpatine was. It is a clusterfuck of deception.

A CIS LORD?

>The maximum authority of your governemnt tells you that your war buddies have to be executed because there was a coup in which they were involved.

A creepy ghost guy comes on a hologram, you have no idea if it's even legit, and says "Kill all the Jedi." You have no idea what the context is, you know through personal experience that the Jedi have bled just as much as you have to win the war, and you know them personally well enough to confront them about a coup. There is even precedent in that series for a closet Sith using the chain of command to kill off clones in suicide missions, and they confronted him about it. Maybe PT clones would obey if they were all ordered to line up and execute each other, but TCW clones would not.

They were just trying to build their ancap utopia

There's still hope, my brother.

>THE CONFEDERACY HAS TAKEN CONTROL OF A COMMAND POST

oh god are they going to re-hash the PT now

clone wars round 2 would be amusing

Using an army of drones to wage your galactic war rather than an army of clones you for some reason bred for a war that wasn't being waged seem highly more ethical. Prove me wrong bitch

WE'VE GOT DROIDS

>Confederacy returns under General Kalani
>New badass ship and droid designs
>BTFO New Order and Resistance
>Establish a proper non-corrupt government

WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS

The only way they could save the sequels

Why did they want to invade Baboo again?

E pluribus anus

really?

>based disney now they're re-hashing the PT yay!

>Literally 'CIS'
>Did nothing wrong

UHM NO, TRY AGAIN SWEETIE

>enemy forces have captured a command post

Unironically agreed

>tfw no Don Troiani or Mort Kunstler paintings of the Battle of Geonosis

Plus their ships are a lot more aesthetic.

This

Unironically the shittiest fucking cop-out ever.

Ever heard of the Night of the Long Knives? You know, when Nazi Germany's SS were ordered to massacre their comrades in the SA and did it without a moment's hesitation?

>All Droid units shut down

EU says there was quintillions of battle droids by the end of the war. Whoever finds those activation codes is in for some good times.

Damn right.

>I thought TCW was canon?
It is, it makes a complete mess of what's canon and what isn't.

>Forms loose, non-centralized, megacorp or feudal galactic government
>Systems become distinct political enteries that avoid war due to the capability of absolute destruction via relativistic weapons and near unlimited deployment range of transports

Oh wait, I forgot Star Wars was a braindead baby setting, not sci-fi

>THIS CLONING FACILITY BREEDS THE TROOPERS WHO OPPOSE US. YOU HAVE BEEN. SPECIFICALLY PROGRAMMED TO VANQUISH THIS BIOLOGICAL. HORROR.

DICE dialogue is so fucking cringe and makes no sense

the droids are programmable cannon fodder. Why would they need to be convinced that they are fighting a just cause. This dialogue makes more sense for an imperial or something.

i liked that line though

see

because the people playing the game need an exposition

but my immersion

you can just pretend that the droids aren’t hearing it

Some of the droids are highly intelligent and were programmed to believe that the Separatist cause was just. The super tactical droid in Rebels says they were fighting for freedom from tyranny, specifically.

>tfw no confederal ancap AI empire to smash leftists and statists with
why even live

unfortunately, namefag's opinions do not count

>tfw died for nothing

ok

Don't even reply to him

not gonna lie, the CIS was probably the best to come of the Prequels. From the designs, to the characters, to the weird ass union of different 'clans' and 'specialist factions'. I'd rather join them than the Empire.
Also their theme is goat.

NOTHING STOPS THE 501st

Do you have more pics like that? The CIS looks badass.

>A creepy ghost guy comes on a hologram
See the spoiler above
>you have no idea if it's even legit
My guess is private channel

It makes more sense than the Jedi having serious unsubtle hints that something fishy is going on with the war, the clones and everything and deciding that the best idea is to shut up.

...

>I know, I'll make the precursor to the empire and the Jedi almost as evil! That won't ruin the urgency to overthrow it in the OT at all
>a-apologise to George guys

I swear battlefront 2 better get these

>can be reprogrammed after the war for other functions
It would be a nice touch if the battle droids they used in the PT were similar to something you see in the OT

It really depends on which clones you're talking about. In the PT, it's perfectly feasible to think they would do it. In TCW, it's unthinkable, so they had to do the chip thing.

What game?

Say what you want about the Republic creating literal slaves as opposed to the proverbial slaves that where all kinds of droids in pretty much the whole saga, but the CIS were the ones that created these guys:
And many other even more efficient, terrifying and lethal walking weapons just to extort the Republic until they saw that their enemy also had an army.

pretty badass

The "Techno Union".

star wars battlefront 2 (2017)

>In the PT, it's perfectly feasible to think they would do it.
In the prequels Cody and Obi Wan showed some partnership and even joked about leaving some droids for them, that kind of relationship between clone and Jedi is expanded in TCW due to obvious reasons and it's why the chip thing make it less heartbreaking.

Yeah, the tv show's fix was for a problem that they created themselves. In that respect it works well. If you only watch II and III they you don't wonder so much why the Clones turned on the Jedi so easily.

>playing that garbage

Yeah, I don't blame the tv show at all though. Humanizing the clones and the separatists to some extent was required to tell longer running stories in the setting.

I just looked up the story and it's a reversal of BF2's story. Why can't I fight for the empire reee

yeah they basically lied about the imperial focused story. They are scum.

What are some games where I can stick with the empire

I honestly wonder why. There seemed to be a real positive buzz about an Imperial focussed storyline. Why didn't they just follow through? It wouldn't have cost them any more and they could still have levels where you play as Luke/Leia/Han in a "Meanwhile, on the Rebel side". It just butchers Iden's character for what? So the kiddies can cheer that she turned good? When I was a kid me and my bros still loved Battlefront 2 (the original)'s campaign. I just don't fucking get it.

dubs of truth

My shipfu.

anyone have more to contribute?

>invisible hand

I have some pictures of Grievous

...

Germans aren't people so you can't really compare them to the clones. Also most of what we think we know about ww2 is obviously propaganda

clone wars = american civil war

so the republic is the union and the confederacy is the confederacy

POTTERY

That alone is enough for me to write off the entire clone wars series. Fucking retarded.

i’m having fun with it

This shit is so autistic, they just draw some random stuff and wires and people buy these.

>the republic wants to force people to remain in a union they don't want to, and don't respect human life at all but act like they do
>the confederacy is obsessed with profit to the point they use mindless automatons to do their fighting

it fits

>"Think you can handle me one-on-one?"

What do you say?

OG Battlefront 2
Force Unleashed until the very end but don’t play the second one because it’s garbage
