Animaniacs comedy really benefited from its animation. I don't think there's any decent 2D animator left in America and I doubt they'll outsource to TMS again since Koreans are much cheaper.

Check out the newer spongebobs from this past year.
Those have really good animation.

Not as well written as the old episodes but the animation is directed by the guy who did Ren & Stimpy’s best episodes.
Very very fluid and the only example of newer cartoons with good animation that i can think of.

The problem isnt the studios, the problem is the lack of good direction.
