didn't drown the deformed child at birth
didn't separate male/female kids

died

Let Aerys cuck him
Didn't kill his wife's son
Died on the privy

didn't realize that Tyrion was his true heir

impressed the edgelord faggot element on Sup Forums

shit taste in hookers

left a crossbow lying around instead of in the armory where it belongs.

Nothing. He was the best character

if tywin & tyrion could warg into lions, how would they react? is it possible for a lannister to warg? lions

After a lifetime of being careful and playing every angle he let his hubris get the best of him and vastly underestimated his son.

didnt excuted his subhuman son at first sight

nothing. tywin now lives as a lion in the westerlands. now afterlife 4 tyrion & tywin.

Didn't remarry and produce better children because muh ded wife

Didn't he send The Mountain around town raping and pillaging?

One of his sons.

The tv series died with this character.

>didn't got rid of the dwarf
>didn't used the mountain as a scapegoat to calm a little house Martell
>didn't forced Jaimie to marry, even with a lesser house
>didn't tried to get close to Stannis, one of the few assholes who could maybe work with him.
>didn't remarry

And oc, in the current show state, he should never have let a madman like Geoffroy do as he pleased, and should have arranged an "accident".

Why would stannis work with him? Seriously explain that thinking

>stannis working with tywin

This is such a shittily written character. If all that matters is the family name, you obviously make more children to increase the chance of the family name being carried on. Guy should've had more kids than Walder.

that's all he professes to care about, obviously he's still personally prideful and having another wife would be like admitting the first one, and the provided children, weren't good enough

Quality > quantity

sadly true

Died doing what everyone loves

Taking a shit

He cared more about appearances than anything else, so he put his money on the pretty but completely fucked up children instead of supporting the only kid who actually had potential.

Also, he bought his house political influence by betraying Aerys, but lost any believability or honor for his house forever.

frey had more quality children than he did

They're all dead and didn't do shit

did all the women get poisoned too?
regardless, doing nothing important >>> ruining literally everything

didnt notice tyrion was actually the smartest of his children and could have been the most loyal with just a few kind words a month

Yes and Amory Lorch. Vargo Goat and da Le Brave Companions.

Were the Lannisters always powerful, hated and violent?

Did Lann the Clever know?
Did he care?
Should he?
Could he?

Lannister trickster

Got himself killed far too early in the story and now there's no one interesting left

Didn't love Tyrion enough. That's his only flaw.

>plebs ITT thinking he should have lived

Tywin's death is the death of the lion that fulfils the Azor Ahai prophecy. Why do you think the show had a second arrow go through his heart? They even had Shae call Tywin "my lion" beforehand to rub the point in. When Jaime kills Cersei, he will have successfully redeemed his character and will bring peace between the humans and white walkers.

AZOR JAIME

Not knowing his kids were fucking.

Tyrion did nothing wrong, yet tortured the child his whole life like he had.

Basically, he was too brutal

>didn't try to get close to Stannis, one of the few assholes who could maybe work with him
Except he didn't want Stannis anywhere near the throne because he couldn't be manipulated.
Rob was a drunken lecher who could be placated with tits and wine
Stannis wouldn't stand for the Lannister bullshit for one minute.
Also, the Lannisters trying to pass off a trio of inbred bastards as the heirs to the throne didn't exactly get on Stannis' good side.

>And oc, in the current show state, he should never have let a madman like Geoffroy do as he pleased, and should have arranged an "accident".

There is a theory that he knew about the plan of poisoning him, maybe even came up with the idea with that old lady

Why didn't he drown him, actually? Someone that concerned with heritage, legacy, and public image, it seems like his character actually would

It would make some kind of sense

>Why didn't he drown him, actually?
Because he was his son. He was a Lannister, regardless of anything. Straight up killing your offspring would've seemed unthinkable for someone like Tywin.

because Tyrion was his blood.

He honestly didn't do anything wrong, he was the best actor and the most interesting character, but even so these characters have to die.
He was absolutely wasted though.
So was Blackfish

That's his flaw. Tywin puts his family above all else yet he doesn't actually love his children. The only person he ever loved was his wife so there is no way he would ever kill any of their children.

Everything

Why do you think he appointed tyrion as hand while he was gone?

You like him, huh?

He stole every scene he was in, and stealing is wrong.

He should’ve either killed Tyrion when he was a baby or treated him like a human being.

Desperation

>So was Blackfish
Fuck don't remind me. His death was the most anti climactic shit ever put on tv.

This was my wifes favourite character because he's a strong patriarch that only cared about his family and couldnt give a fuck about everyone else. He did nothing wrong

continued to be allies with the freys, He shoulda had them killed the moment their usefulness ended

He was a cunt. For someone who values family and all that shit it's pretty ironic how he treated Tyrion like shit and was blind to Jamie and Cerseis incest

He cared about his family as a concept, while not really giving a shit about his children as individuals.

He had given up Jamie for dead around that time that's why he treated tyrion semi decently

Didn't remarry after Joanna died. Could've had another son that was fit to inherit Casterly Rock instead of holding out hope for Jaime or having to give Tyrion responsibilities

>The only person he ever loved was his wife
Who also happens to be his cousin

He was a cunt in a world full of hard cunts. He did what needed to be done

No they are not. Only the males directly involved with the Red Wedding got killed, others had part or were to young at the time

*had no part

>ordered the mountain to rape and pillage
>this made the dornish pissed off
>falsely accused his son in a rigged as fuck trial for a crime he knew he didnt commit just so he could finally send him away to the wall and renounce all claim to his name
>this led to the viper becominh tyrons champion, and he died
>this pissed off the dornish sand sneks and they murderd his grand daughter
>these events contributed to his family name almost bieng enterly wiped from history, and it most likely will

Played a dangerous game and lost because he was too up himself.

came here to post this, underrated.

WHy would the dornish be pissed when the mountain pillages the riverlands? And you got it all wrong, the main reason the dornish were pissed at Tywin was because they knew he gave the order to the mountain and loch to kill elia and her kids and they never got punished, all that drivel where they kll myrcella is made up bs by D&D

Ah i thought the mountain raped and killed the dornish way back in S1 my bad. But bad writting or not the rest is true

Book Tywin made Jamie convince Tyrion his wife was a whore and got her raped by like 50 men

He's one of the better characters in the book and on the show.

In all fairness, Tyrion was embarrassing the family name as usual.

Why because he married a girl he loved?

I've always wondered...is he a POV character in the books? Because that would be interesting as fuck.

Just look at this. Fuck, Charles Dance is a boss.
youtube.com/watch?v=-RWTKgfNLco

uh...yes? she wasn't suitable for a lannister.

he isn't

You don't actually believe in feudalism do you? He didn't care that she wasn't highborn. Tysha might be the only girl that will truly love Tyrion and Tywin ruined it

That's the point about Tywin's character though; although he plays the cold Machiavellian he's all too human

I believe in the world presented in the books, yes. Tyrion just couldn't help embarrassing his father at every turn and too bad if you love your lowborn little slut, when you're an heir to one of the most important families in the land, you better act the part, love or not. So from the world we are presented yes, he was embarrasing his father and his name.

Fucked his kids up so that they are all psychotic, useless, or hate him

Maybe some punishment was in order for marrying so young and without his permission but you have to admit he went way overboard

Oh i agree, but look at it from Tywin's point of view.

damn shame.

Unthinkable isn't the right word, he just couldn't bring himself to do it

>flaw
This is a world where your name has a huge impact on your existence. If Tyrion was a bastard, Twin would have had no problem snuffing out a Snow. Strangely, though, Tywin valued the reputation of the Lannister name above all else, even those who carried it.
Is his flaw, then, that he can't see the forest for the trees? Does he carry the right values, but a misguided version of them?

Too bad that the fat fuck didn’t make a Tywin pov. It’s not fucking fair if Ned’s got one but not Tywin.

>Twin would have had no problem snuffing out a Snow

Westerland bastards are called "Stone" not "Snow" you fucking nerd

Then have Tyrion raped by 50 men instead.

Nothing

Also rare OC

Bastards of the westerlands are actually named Hill. Stone is the bastard name for those born in The Vale.

Maybe it was for the better, you know, leave bits and details to everyone's imagination.

Torturing his son was a mistake.
He didn't need to give him Casterly Rock, but he could've treated him better and have kept a decent ally and not died.

Maybe he should've arranged an accident for Joffrey earlier.

You idiots really think he's his son? He was born of Targaryen rape

Westerland bastards are called Hill wikifag

fug, "tossing a Stone" would have been cooler, too.

Tywins father was a gentle kind man, and a fool.

Let his emotions rule his dwarf son instead of using his mind like he usually does and have the best ruler ever to exist at his behest.

He's not you fan fiction fag

A bald assertion isn't an argument. I've already refuted your representation based arguments. Give me something else.

You're the one who made the bald assertion BUD

kinslaying is the highest crime in the face of gods and men in Westeros

he could have said he was a bastard of aerys raping his wife joanna.
guess he didnt want to be seen as a cuck

Maybe he pushed Tyrion too hard

And, unlike his counterpart Longshanks, after the love of his life died, he did not remarry to get a better heir

Otherwise, he did nothing wrong. Even so, if I were Tyrion, I'd let him live
