Is that fucking Wolfmother?
MIKE PATTON IS NOT GOD
Are you HEARING this shit?
Say that to his face.
WHAT YEAR IS IT?
It's ironic given how out of step and backwards Faith No More and Mike Patton have always been.
...
fuck this guy hes a pissy perpetually bitching prick. watch that interview wheres hes eating a sandwich trying to act all nonchalant and above the fame but hes nervously grimacing the whole time, probably bc hes being interviewed by a girl. shit is legit cringe
plus he actually did ape anthony kiedis' style in the early 90's; see
It isn't ironic at all. Wolfmother is Disneyland 70s rock.
One of the most brilliant interviews ever given.
Patton BTFO'd Kiedis when Mr. Bungle did a RHCP themed show and he sang all the songs way better than Kiedis ever would.
this
kiedis just got butthurt and started fucking them over for the rest of their career
then patton called him a noodle dick
youtube.com
was it kino?
>the virgin patton
>the chadthony
In the interview he was literally shilling an album parodying 60's Italian pop music
>omg dude are you hearing this!?! i-is that a guitar riff?! over steady drums and bass?!? wtf year is this!??!?!?!!
What an ass.
they did the rhcp show AFTER kiedis kicked them off the festival. they also did it bc theyre annoying and immature. im not even an rchp fan and kiedis but i dont exactly blame him for him harboring a minor grudge against patton, because he did rip him off, and when youre that rich shit doesnt tend to seem so consequential. kiedis probably didnt even put more than an ounce of thought into booting them
but dw i understand where youre coming from i was also a 14 year old bungle fanboy at one point
Right, which isn't any worse than Mike "Stuck In The Late 80's" Patton.
>anthony kiedis' style
You really think Kiedis invented the long-haired skater look. FUCKIN LOL
*im not even an rhcp but i dont blame kiedis
whew

wasn't about it being old music. 70s cock rock was universally hated by edgy gen x-ers who made alternative rock/metal at the time. to patton, that '60s italian pop was hip and retro, and not the unbearable music from his youth.
its not just the hair its the percussive funk-metal rapping, the monkeyish dance moves, the underwear thing. patton's style is wayyy too close for comfort
fk *not even an rhcp fan
cobain, melvins, smashing pumpkins, soundgarden, and plenty of other 90s alt rock bands semi-ironically praised and covered kiss, led zeppelin, aerosmith et al. id say its just patton being a smack talking little bitch. again
He is kind of a douchey sperglord, but you have to admit he is a talented musician. He has some amazing projects going.
Did you actually read what happened? RHCP proceed to kick them out of all the festivals they were scheduled. And you're completely wrong about the timeline.
>"Our agent was in the process of booking these festivals, and it was becoming apparent that we'd landed some pretty good ones—one in France, another one in Holland, some big-name festivals. Turns out someone's holding a grudge! We were booted off several bills, specifically because Anthony Kiedis did not want us on the bill. He threatened to pull the Chili Peppers if Mr. Bungle was on the bill.
>In retaliation, Mr. Bungle parodied the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Pontiac, Michigan on Halloween of 1999. Patton introduced each Mr. Bungle band member with the name of one of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, before covering the songs "Give It Away", "Around the World", "Under the Bridge" and "Scar Tissue", with Patton deliberately using incorrect lyrics. Mr. Bungle also satirized many of the mannerisms of the band, mocking heroin injections, deceased guitarist Hillel Slovak and their on-stage antics. Kiedis responded by having them removed from the 2000 Big Day Out festival in Australia and New Zealand.
>REEEE PLS STOP MAKING FUN OF MEEEEEEE
^You're defending this
Still makes me laugh
>percussive funk-metal rapping, the monkeyish dance moves, the underwear thing.
And you really think this was unique to Kiedis as well? ANTHONY KIEDIS INVENTED WIGGERS?
dude if i didnt ever like any of his music i wouldnt autistically pontificate about him. the first two bungle records are still damn good, and hes got a few good songs scattered throughout his other projects.
yeah ofc hes talented he also prioritizes showboating over ever taking a backseat for the sake of the music. buddy is annoying and should shut up more often
Mike Patton sucks. Faith No More was brilliant due to the guys actually playing music and the only good Mr. Bungle album was California, which is only 1/4 of a good album. All his other projects are shit.
am I edgy for loving Mike Patton?
Fantomas's the Director Cut is legit good
California by the Bungles is litterally one of my favorite albums of all time
Peeping Tom is good too
INSIDE OF ME TODAY
THERE IS NO ONE
ONLY ASTEROIDS AND EMPTY SPACE
A WASTE
>Mr. Bungle also satirized many of the mannerisms of the band, mocking heroin injections, deceased guitarist Hillel Slovak and their on-stage antics
FUCKING BASED
hm i thought only one festival was involved in this incident. mb
either way yeah i am defending kiedis removing them, mostly because bungle's style was irritating and proto nu-metal. didnt even know they made fun of slovak. that's unfunny and below the belt, its not even a case of ego-dentage at that point. mr bungle had a collective mental age of 13
youtube.com
The very beginning of this always makes me laugh hysterically
kiedis pioneered that specific breed of wigger?
yup show me an earlier example
I see you are a man of culture too.
but Mr Bungle is objectively good rock-experimental music.
t. mallgoth avant-teen scaruffidrone
Sup Forums of 2012 called, they want their buzzwords back.
mall goths don't listen to Bungle. What the fuck are you talking about?
would've worked if you said spork
>mall goths
Ah that takes me back
I'm not a fan either but just because people don't like their music doesn't mean they should be kicked out of several music festivals. There's tons of bands at a festival and people aren't usually going to like all of em, it's not like they were opening for RHCP's own show or something.
>kiedis pioneered that specific breed of wigger?
No. Those idiots were quite common in Santa Clara circa 1984.
t. someone who was there.
And demanding proof when you were the one who made the original assertion is just pathetic.
but user if im not mistaken a debate functions when both parties present evidence. even a google image result would be ok. desu baldpasta is warranted here
It's either the chad patton or the virgin both of them.
Is wolfmother even a thing still? literally havent heard of them since highschool in like 2005
All 00s bands have faded into irrelevancy. Like them or not, at least everyone still has an opinion on Megadeth or Led Zeppelin.
also were talking about image-conscious musicians in the public eye here, not people youd see in the park. and if faith no more didnt play a similar style of music several years after the fact than the image thing wouldnt be an issue

what is this hairstyle called?
>ape anthony kiedis' style
No, Patton's actually from California. Kiedis moved there with his father to be a child actor and glommed on to any passing trend he saw in order to become famous.
I like RHCP, but FNM was the vastly better band, without question.
Now I'm finding truth is a ruin
Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing
they arent even comparable. Patton is much more eclectic and experimental while all RHCP is is generic 90s alt rock
No, it's clever music for stupid people.
I have all of their albums and demos, and I enjoy them even as music and not just humor, but the notion that bands like that or Primus or Tool are somehow deep and complicated is fucking hysterical.
such a comfy album
not to mention that if fnm/mr bungle, primus, tool, and alice in chains didnt exist neither would nu-metal
STARING INTO GLASSY EYES
MEEEEZMORIIIIIZED
>Tool are somehow deep and complicated is fucking hysterical.
2deep4u
>they write a song about bill hicks and feature a painting of him in the liner art
>their fans are so fucking dumb they think it's about jesus
Deep-squared, bruh.
reminder that it took 5 (FIVE) whole albums before RHCP released an album worth listening to, and the moment Patton joined FNM they were a huge success.
>you gotta play the tracks on lateralus IN A DIFFERENT ORDER to understand what maynard is trying to say though
tool fanatics are hilarious

just found out this exist lol

Come on, retard. No one's this fucking dumb.
Bob C. Cock here. The "C" stands for Cock!
LOL HE IS TELLING US A STORY TROUGH LYRICS!!! IM LISTENING AT CLEVER MUSIC WOOOW!!
It's good experimental ROCK music. I'm not comparing it to the rest of Western art music. I'm comparing it to other similar popular music.
Here's the thing, I like Patton and Bungle and Faith No More more than I like Wolfmother, I actually don't like Wolfmother at all.
But he asks "What year is it?" when they are a band emulating 70s rock and he's doing 60's Italian pop songs.
It clearly doesn't matter what year it is.
>chad tours with SOAD
but their only non terrible music is like the first 30 seconds of chop suey before the distortion comes in
SOAD is typically pointed at as the "good nu-metal band" but theyre far worse than Linkin Park, Korn, or Slipnot they might literally be the most musically grating band ever
SOAD are one of the worst live bands I have ever seen, I saw them twice so it wasn't just a bad day
t. has never taken acid and heard Introduce Yourself on the radio
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>SOAD is typically pointed at as the "good nu-metal band" but theyre far worse than Linkin Park, Korn, or Slipnot
Slipknot is better, but Korn and Linkin Park suck. The only thing bad about SOAD is that the majority of their songs are just "fuck bush!" stuff that hasnt really aged well for some reason.
I'd say that Bungle was attempting to create novel combinations of various older and newer styles while Wolmother was attempting to be a literal facsimile of a single older style.

Almost as kino as this
