Is Black Mirror any good or is it just a rehash of old Twilight Zone episodes?

Is Black Mirror any good or is it just a rehash of old Twilight Zone episodes?

It's not a rehash but it's not good either, most times you're just gonna get annoyed at the wasted potential of what the show could've been.

Twilight Zone is superior, don't know why so many people keep comparing the two.If anything Black Mirror is closer to the Outer Limits with it's heavy science basis. Twilight Zone was a much stranger beast.

It's overrated as all hell truth be told. The 90's Outer Limits and Tales From the Crypt were both better.

It's like a less charming but a lot smarter Twilight Zone.

You, sir, are a dirty animal, everyone in this thread is getting sent straight to the fucking cornfield.

I was talking about Black Mirror. Twilight Zone is amazing.

Oh. Well I like Black Mirror, but it is getting way more hype than it deserves. Well, especially the last two series, going over old or done scifi tropes that the normals aren't used to and blowing them up as revolutionary. Though I'm afraid there's no coming back from that cornfield, Bill Mumy's kid aside.

*last two seasons

IIIiiiii'm a bludy britbonnnnng!

The first two series offer some good, thought-provoking episodes and entertainment. The Netflix seasons (3 and 4) are lost in propaganda bullshit for the most part. Hated in the Nation might be the closest to an early episode.

it's not a rehash since it focuses a lot more on shit that wasn't around during twilight zone (social media, matrix-like online environments, etc). it's also less "hammy" than a lot of twilight zone episodes i've seen, which isn't necessarily good or bad, it just takes itself very seriously. great production value.

but what most people on Sup Forums don't like about it is how it does have a liberal slant, so if that kind of thing pisses you off then don't bother

its twilight zone but shittier writing, less imaginative scenarios, and shoe horned nigger male + white female interracial cuckolding

perfect for our generation

Outer Limits 90s is better than both Twilight Zone and Black Mirror

I'd never seen Black Mirror, but I binged every episode over the last few days. I really liked almost all of them, but there's a bit of a liberal slant here and there. Didn't bother me, though.

I'd really like to watch more anthology type sci fi series like that, are Twilight Zone and Outer Limits my only options?

electric dreams maybe, based off Philip K Dick stuff

havent watched it though

A man is hit by a car while crossing the road. The man crossing the road was watching child porn on his phone. The driver of the car was smuggling child porn. Is technology bad?

Is it just me or did the lib slant get way worse when it became a Netflix series? It went from standard “diversity” in s1 and s2 to the latest s4 where all protagonists are female and multiple eps with no male lead at all.

twilight zone is much better; if not only because the things modern society and people care about are alot less interesting then the wide ranging themes of Zone form 50 plus years ago

Twilight Zone is more original and nuanced.

Black Mirror focuses too much on MUH TECHNOLOGY -- even then, Outer Limits (original and 90s) is better.

Electric Dreams is mostly terrible.

I agree they have so many weird and good eps

>the dino teleport one
>the stranded Alien Waifus one
>the evolving guy one
>the killer robo waifu one
>the one where the robos create man

Neither. It's nothing like the Twilight Zone and also bad.

>"hey, what if FACEBOOK AND REDDIT LIKES WERE REAL LIFE!"
>"hey guys this technology stuff is BAD also hating fat people is BAD"
>"hey hey hey trolling people is PRETTY MEAN"
>"oh hey politics sure is CRAZY a dude fucks a pig whoa!"
>"yo whoa hey now video game violence ISN'T VERY GOOD if the video game people were kind of real people but not really real people"
Remember when you were a teenager and thought stuff was deep? That's Black Mirror.

>Black Mirror focuses too much on MUH TECHNOLOGY
this. it gets old real fast

Honestly, I can't imagine Black Mirror will age well since it focuses so heavily on technology. Twilight Zone is still applicable today because they talked about the human condition. People will watch Black Mirror in ten years and think oh yeah I remember when Facebook was a thing yeah that sure was something that Facebook.

>tfw the black guy gets cucked in episode 2
