What's the most fucked up segment you've ever read in a comic?

What's the most fucked up segment you've ever read in a comic?

Why marvel wont retcon this I'll never know

rape at the serial killers convention of a little girl

came to mind instantly and i hope to have a good few years before i have to remember it exists again

fucking dude with fucking knives for eyes or whatever it was god fucking DAMn

I've read more fucked up things I'm sure but this is definitely a contender.

Why did anyone think this was a good idea?

Joe r Lansdales The Drive -In ALL of it

This whole comic.

Is this the one with the riot cop that fucks a dog and the chick that fucks a plant

crystals actually

but there is also plantfuckers

Couldnt say, but the way spider-man got dragged through the mud is what made me hate how long copyrights and trademarks last. I dont think they have any hope of restoring me as a comic fan again. I will check out a finished story arc a few years later at best now, and have put more love into media spawned from the books, which can borrow from the bests but ignore trash like that.

I saw in another thread some discussion about Neonomicon. So I checked it out.

Seriously Moore, what the fuck? This is straight up depraved garbage. Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK

Metabarons.

Just Metabarons.

I'm sure I'll think of worse later, but this is the first to come to mind.

Why is Swamp thing mouth fucking headless waifu?

I knew I shouldn't have come into this thread but I was curious.

I'm mentally ill and this makes me wanna die. God at least part of me is happy knowing I'm not alone.

How is Miracleman? Worth the read? can someone give me a quick rundown.

This was written by Moore, wasn't it?

The fact that this exists infuriates me.
>God forbid Peter stays married to a woman he was with for 20+ years
>Refuse to retcon Peter's middle aged enemy fucking Peter's girlfriend who he killed, then had super-aging babies with her, one of which calling themselves Gray Goblin

Quesadilla is a fucking idiot.

Jon drinking dog jizz

it's the ultimate reconstruction

I'm just starting to get into Incal, how much are they connected?

yup

See? Shit like this is what makes me think people that complain about Moore being edgy are autists or have some sort of disorder and can only see stuff at a surface level.
The main difference between a guy like Moore and most of the shitheads that came after him is that when stuff like this happens in his comics it has weight, it's important, it matters and has an emotional impact. It's not just for shock value, it leads to plot and character development and it ends up being a vital part of the story.
The only comic where this doesn't happen is in The Killing Joke. The Barbara abuse seemed gratuituous and mostly for shock value, and even Moore has expressed regret for it. But mostly, he writes good stuff.

I think it's great, it's a shame that we didn't get an actual conclusion.

It starts with dealing with what super powers do to someone's relationships.

And then it segues into meeting the aliens the power came from (reverse engineered from a crashed ship by a human scientist who is an interesting amoral character). What's great is that the aliens are actually very alien, and aren't just reskinned humans.

It gets a bit grimdark but I feel it wasn't being edgy for the sake of it, but makes sense given the situation.

Retconning it would mean admitting that they did it in the first place. I think they're hoping everyone will just forget about it.

>chick

user...

Most of Uber.
It's Nazi-wank combined with waifufagging, gore-porn, and completely shitting all over the Allies constantly.

It started off with some minor promise, then spoiled it all by never letting anyone other than the Germans and women ever actually succeed at anything.

You know, it's odd to me. The groups that usually hate any depiction of Nazis that isn't purely derogatory tend to be fairly at odds with the groups that hate depictions of successful women. Apparently there is some intersection between those groups, however.

>Nazi villains
>Are fine with women in high level positions

This really stuck out for me. The nazis hated women as anything but breeding stock for the perfect aryan race or whatever. To have women superhumans and scientists save the day would invalidate the very essence of their shitty ideology by showing that women could do anthing other than breed. And still the author claims that he's reasearched harder than any man ever researched.

Did the nazis though? From what I know, they did put women in some positions of power.

>blue grass
Wait, is the coloring of swamp thing accurate?
Is everything actually blue?

WOW that's actually a really astute observation about Moore and it's posts like this that give me hope that there are people out there that can still pick up on a writers subtext a lost art in this age of instant gratification and surface level meaning.

Every page of Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow.

This was pretty emotionally profound

Why do they have the exact same face, mlike fucking twins? Are we supposed to deduce they're from Alabama?

Because Dillon was a shit artist who somehow got contracted to do a massive chunk of Punisher comics

Nope, best thing a woman could hope for was to be a living propaganda piece. They even tried keeping women at home when every allied nation figures out that more women i the workforce = more men on the frontlines.

The nazis were experts at fucking themselves over like that. Hey that Einstein guy, he's a super genius and maybe his theories could be used to make an atomic bomb! Nope, screw that, he's a jew so better persucute the shit out of him, eventually making him defect to the Americans. and ignore any efforts into weaponizing his jew science.

Why did she do this? Was she drugged or blackmailed? There is no way in hell any woman would legitimately get seduced by Norman fucking Osbourne

You don't know about the Frankface?

Uber is silly and tiresome, yes, but most of the "fucked up" stuff falls flat for me. I mean, it's there, but art is pretty meh and it happens often and on such a scale it lacks impact (for me).
Crossed on the other hand...
The first issue, the God damned salt circle fucked me up proper.

>more women i the workforce
Don't need women in the workforce when you have forced labour from conquered countries, innit.

Do you mean Corinthian in Sandman?

1

>Don't need women in the workforce when you have forced labour from conquered countries, innit.

A labour froce that would deliberatly sabotage the stuff they made on a regular basis and got so groutesquely overworked and poorly treated their net contribution was nothing compared to the work done by millions of working women in America, England and the Soviet Union.

>Crossed on the other hand...

I'm the opposite. Über's bad research and unintentional nazi glorification can piss me off to no end.

But Crossed is just so silly I simply can't take it seriously. I suspect Crossed's whole existence is to gratify Ennis' life long fetish of writing a whole series in nothing but pre-teen schoolyard insults.

This was pretty lame, I also did not like the ending.

1/2

2/2

That was tragic, but not fucked-up.
The preceding horror was pretty fucked-up.

I think it was extra effective because it preceded the so-called "Dark age" by years.

Pretty sure the 'You are not alone" thing is part of why the comics, and Sup Forums exist.

"What would happen if Superman was real", positive edition.

It's technically speaking a take on Captain Marvel.

Some people think 'Maximortal' is better. I think those people are idiots.

I only like Lapham's issues of Crossed
because fuck it, why not

It's a pretty clever deconstruction.

Personally I still prefer the idea that he did love her and the kids.

Frankly I am amazed Ennis gets work at all. Unless it's a joke and the whole industry is in on it.

>Still getting up

Pretty much the saving grace for this arc.

"I knew a lot of men would have to die".

What's odd is why so few superheroes fall into his philosophy.

War Machine came pretty close. Especially his second 616 series.

>can piss me off to no end
But hey, it's a "fucked up" thread and not "pissing me off" thread.

Not saying it turned out good.

I would say Miracleman is a Superhero story told as a horror story.

...

>clever
No user, it was a shit writer trying to be deep and different but choosing the dumbest thing they could think of instead
>guys guys, what if frank DIDN'T love his family?
I liked his bullseye but that's it

Hitman was fantastic and his Fury is one of Marvel's few really good series
Ennis needs strong editors

This was some scary shit.

Jesus CHRIST, man!
This is a blue board, for fuck's sake!

Reread it but imagine that Goblin was making it all up and the kids were just cloned. People had been blackmailed to co-operate with the lie, it'ts totally an Osborne thing to do.

This was after he "died" and got cut off from the Green, forcing him into space where he possessed alien vegetation on an uninhabited alien planet. He tried to recreate Abby and others by manifesting plant constructs out of the native vegetation. Went kinda bad.

L.E.G.I.O.N. Vol 1 #7

This shit has encouraged me to re-read Swamp Thing. Goin' great.

barely at all, even the Metabaron in the Incal has virtually nothing to do with The Metabarons' version of himself

>no chest hole
>the page after he was shot in the chest
bravo marvel

He has super regenerative powers.

...

Kinda retarded question but is the Green just on Earth? I thought it was all kinds of vegetation like how with the Red its all biological life.

Swamp Thing is an honest-to-god horror comic, I just got through reading the issue where he literally gets raped by a giant space uterus. Only Alan Moore could write that type of comic with a straight face.

Would actually be in a webcomic for me
Ava's Demon is mostly a pretty just-above-average webcomic, but the body horror scene was great

L.E.G.I.O.N. #28
Alien pregnancy
