CG Pearl couldn't have been a Diamond Pearl or done the deed herself because Rose and her Renegade Pearl were well known for several hundred years before PD was shattered. PD's shattering happened during the rebellion, it didn't start it. That's why Jasper seemed to know and love her Diamond, and why Eyeball was witness to the assassination despite not being a PD gem.
Rose, or at least someone who looked like Rose, stabbed Pink Diamond with a sword without any attempts to stop her from her subordinates, and then Pink Diamond shattered. My money is on Pink Diamond having done it all herself out of some altruistic idea that her shattering would help bring an end to the war, or at least do something positive. She would be the one who could order those around her to not interfere, and she could be the one strong enough to shatter her own gem after Rose stabbed her with a sword that couldn't shatter gems. Rose may or may not have been in on it from the start, but she certainly took credit for it after the fact.

So do you guys think yellow diamond killed pink? She was being pretty defensive against Zircons argument. Seems like it certainly couldn't have been blue, the way she reacted, and we don't even know why white didn't show up.
I was pretty damn surprised regardless that Blue was that open to the defenses case, she didn't want it dismissed even when Zircon accused the diamonds.
Also, do you guys think we'll be seeing more of homeworld in the same vein as we see the barn? Steven and Co. basically have a portal straight there, and I figure that Stevens going to be a pretty common visitor while they figure out how to get Lars and the off-colors back to Earth.
