How did DC movies go from pic related to the following:
>Man of Steel - still an outright conservative movie supporting family value; Zod tera-forming the earth is a symbol for immigrants to America trying to change our country to be more like where they came from >An overly long break before the 2nd movie is released...BvS plagued with terrible casting (never the director's fault) and obvious heavy handed editing which resulted in drawn out scenes with no meaning as well as leaving you feeling like the "meat" was left on the cutting room floor >Suicide Squad - Nearly unwatchable garbage. Director's vision completely neutered in post. Soundtrack replaced with "muh pop music". Story completely nonexistent. The flashback scenes which show the characters' origin stories feels like those were cuts from what the original version of the film was. >Justice League - Snyder replaced by fucking Joss Whedon in post. I never saw the movie but I'm pretty sure it's safe to say the movie was a complete wreck.
Seriously. What the fuck happened? Is it because DC makes such overt conservative movies? Why can't they make movies like The Dark Knight Rises anymore where Bane and his anarchists are a metaphor for the Jacobins of the French Revolution?

Bane wasn't a metaphor. He wasn't an anarchist. The plot of TDKR was patterned after a Tale of Two Cities, with Bane and the League of Shadows in the role of the revolutionaries, but Bane's goal was ultimately to destroy Gotham to shock the world. To herald a new era of civilization.
It is the same kind of shit that Steve Bannon has talked about in detail. Using a crisis to rewrite the status quo and affect change. Bane wanted to create it directly where Bannon plays the political game. The anarchy/eat-the-rich thing was a smokescreen for Bane's true intentions.
DC went to shit because Alan Horn left WB.
Parker Powell
To be quite honest I think you just contradicted yourself. The revolutionaries in France WERE the Jacobins who used anarchist propaganda to usurp the government.
About the Tale of Two Cities, I singularly agree. I need to find the webm of the street clash between anarchists and the frightened and outnumbered police.
Aiden Rogers
The theory about Alan Horn is interesting too. Do you think WB had to cuck their movies before Disney would buy them?

I think there is some kind of sabotage going on from Disney against DCEU and other movies that are trying to start as franchises. Funny how when you think about it that there hasn't been a popular, original new movie trilogy or franchise since 2007 or 08 when MCU began, Transformers doesn't count since it is pre-07
Carter Mitchell
It’s probably because for all the shit we give Nolan, he still is a good director. Where as Snyder and everyone else they got are hacks.
Blake Powell
That's kind of what I was getting at. It sure feels that way, especially bringing in Whedon to replace Snyder. It's like saying "Trump's sick...Hillary is gonna come finish the term."
It HAS to mean that there was someone inside DC who acted as a mole.
I mean, I don't about you but I never ever gave Nolan any shit for his trilogy. It's still hands down the best set of comic book films ever made. Hands down the best, most realistic action scenes too. You don't see all the CGI garbage in the Nolan trilogy like this guy pointed out.
Nolan Watson
So where does it go after mole sabotaging other projects, do Disney buy the property rights years later once no one will touch it? Feels like Disney are trying to pull a New Coke strategy with capeshit.
Luis Phillips
>Zod tera-forming the earth is a symbol for immigrants to America trying to change our country to be more like where they came from no no nonononononoononononoooooooo, friend. Zod did nothing wrong, literally had nowhere to go and was trying to fight for his kind.
Tyler Gonzalez
>literally had nowhere to go >Flies for 30 years to reach earth
What did disney-user mean by this?
I think devaluing the DC/WB stuff is definitely a factor. Disney would love nothing more than to get their hands on Nolan's trilogy for their streaming service. Furthermore, I think the red-pilled nature of where DCEU was going really frightened Disney. On a political/ideological level Disney is at war with DC. Also, I think that Snyder is actually pretty fuckin awesome. Can't forget 300, one of the most pro-white-male films ever made.

It's hilarious how hard Sup Forums projects their insanity into everything solely to have something to rage about.
Nolan Russell
Not as funny as you wasting your time to post something absolutely meaningless on Sup Forums
Caleb Nguyen
They simply rushed their franchise jump for the quest of billions and additional merch sales.
Also from some article I read noland's brother assisted with the script from goyer. DCEU had no script men (terrio seemed like he was brought it after things started).
Basically the one thing WB should be copying from marvel is creating a shared cine universe already planned out (It can be bleak and R rated as long as it is good).
BvS was a fan film more than a general Aud film, imo.
Thomas Flores
Don't you think it's too late though? Now that DCEU is 5 movies it the franchise is totally fuckin ruined.
Mustache-gate was the final nail on the coffin.
Cooper Harris
Of course you'd think someone calling out your insanity is meaningless, poopsie.
Angel Gonzalez
Iger is that you?
Oliver Campbell
Every post on Sup Forums is absolutely meaningless
Evan Johnson
Only if you're a nihilist
Justin Cruz
>Bane wasn't a metaphor. He wasn't an anarchist
No shit, he was Gotham's reckoning. He outright says that.
Brandon Brown
It really depends on the box office desu. BvS was loved by core fans but they (WB) needs both(core and General) for the 1 billion box office goal. Also mustache gate was to bring back old nostalgic fans (old films and very old comics).
Basically it seems they are trying to get a working formula, WW works by herself, Bats can still sell if the stand alone is good, Supes is unique (Bryan S failed to get young males interested aka male audience, Snyder under performed but got the male action audience), SS 2 will make money if they can fix the script.
Matthew Flores
That doesn't make any sense though. It's DC comics....They have had a working formula for such a long time. If a studio like WB can't find a "winning formula" for having Batman and Superman in the same movie it's time for them to just stop.
Kayden Phillips
Marvel comics were always "super happy fun time" while Dc comics were always "super cereal" and they were cool because of that. Now the WB/DC bean counters see the cash Marvel is raking in and want a piece so they trying to make DCU(?) be what it isn't and that why it sucks.
Jordan James
It's simple. Marvel defined their universe's characters to have jokes/quips every scene.
DC saw this and wanted to do the same, even though TDK trilogy didn't need comedic relief every 3 minutes because it tried to take itself seriously. Marvel movies decided comics are immature so that's how they treat their characters; there are very few notable moments in any marvel movie that I can say took risks to be serious... I think the first Iron Man is the only movie they made where they tried to take themselves seriously. Just compare Thor Ragnarok or Guardians of the Galaxy to it. There's an obvious hands-off direction in terms of making statements in their films.
DC needs to realize that they don't need to make characters funny. They just need to make characters we care about and use their contextual experiences to build moments of humor that come naturally rather than being forced in to save-face from being labelled "pretentious". I'm certain that's why they can't do it.
Austin Garcia
I just hope someday we will see original cuts of SS and Justice League.
Ryder Ward
Because superman and his villains are fucking low tier trash, and the studio doesnt have the sense to just fucking stop. The ONLY way superman is in any way interesting is with him as the bad guy.
Lucas Jones
You're so right. I hate to say it but IM1 was great, despite Favreau.
Best bet for DC would be to go ahead and drop the Justice League altogether. How badass would it be to see a new extended universe with Swamp Thing and John Constantine with a gritty esoteric setting?
Ryder Bell
Nolan did DC right, not in terms of grounding it in reality but in terms of seriousness instead of the dumb quipshit that was JL. Hell even the Green Lantern movie abortion had an ok (ish) tone.
Luis Sanders
>while Dc comics were always "super cereal"
But that's exactly what BvS was and it was shit.
Henry Bennett
Not only are they grounded in a modern seriousness we have never seen in comic movies, they are also all tied in together so perfectly. If you watch all 3 in a day it really hits you how complete the vision was. Absolutely stunning writing.
They ALMOST nailed this narrative connection between MoS and BvS. I thought the first half of BvS was pretty phenomenal for the most part and the idea of seeing the end of MoS play out from Batman's point of view was fucking awesome.
Then somewhere...the movie fucks decided the world wanted to see more WW and more LL at the end. :/ god damnit
Adam Cruz
>BvS plagued with terrible casting (never the director's fault) >in describing the encounter with his wife and producing partner Deborah, he hit upon a new inspiration: Cast him as Lex Luthor
Ian Sanders
MoS wasn't conservative, it was based on Objectivist/Randian ideology.
Jose Anderson
Ah that's right...Snyder's fuckin wife...FUCK. You think that's why he got cucked with the casting? I always thought Amy Adams was a god awful actress too.
The Randian elements may not be typically conservative, but consider the following: >Strong nuclear single-race (no miscegenation) family >Police and military depicted as brave >Themes of hard work and sacrifice >Zod nuking an entire city without remorse because of his politics
