>Jumanji hitting 500 million
Jesus people at Sony must be partying

Do you think disney smells it? Can they smell what the Rock is cooking?

I don’t get it

Jumanji is doing better than the JUST jedi comparatively.

Litty pissy good time
Fuck star wars

Looks like the world is ready to get #litty

Kathleen Kennedy needs to be fired before she destroys Star Wars entirely.

yeah okay but like star wars has been out for like a month....

>triggered

The FANS' #litty and #raunchy comedy
Formerly the critics'

I legitimately don’t think there’s anything to do for Episode 9. Rian basically pushed the house of cards JJ set up for him.

Jumanji came out a full week after Star Wars L M A O

I honestly never thought it'd even make this much money by the end of its run, and it hasn't opened in China or Japan yet. If it keeps up the good legs and does well in those two areas it has a legitimate chance of reaching $850 - 900 million

ummm no sweetie.... in fact i feel that star wars is pretty poopy penis it's just funny to see people jump on the hate for a old ass movie falling out of the box office??

Yeah it feels like the entire sequel trilogy is almost ready to be written off. There was no plan going in, everybody's firing from the hip and making rash decisions. I feel like if Episode 9 underperforms they'll fire Kennedy and try to sweep the whole trilogy under the rug.

How does he do it?

>people thought star wars could compete with the most LITTY kino of the year
lmao

>has no more markets to open in
>dropping everywhere like a rock
it might not make it to $1.3 billion at this point

Karen Gillan is 5'11"
Kevin Hart is 5'4"

Is this really news though?

Star Wars has been out for a while and Jumanji is exactly the sort of movie that would get $500 mil.
It's an inoffensive adventure comedy with a popular cast. Nobody would not see this movie.
>Kevin Hart is a super popular comedian.
>Dwayne Johnson is money bait and will bring in the chads and moms
>Nerds will go to see Karen Gillan
>Jack Black is the riskiest actor, but even then he's super safe.
>it's actually good

based rock delivering the smackdown to the worst sw movie since Ep2

this was actually a fun movie, the rock is always so cute.

by being a person instead of a walking meme like the rest of hollywood

How are they going to capitalise on the success of this lil pantspissing litty romp?

The Rock, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black are simply much more bankable stars than the shitty lineup of TLJ.
There is not one single person in TLJ that is charismatic or likable.

How will they explain the retcon? CGI Leia, tie Ford into a seat so he doesn’t crash and give Hamill the Luke he wants to play? Normies won’t get it. The damage is done.

I'm sure they are seeing how most people expected this to just break even at best. Depending on how it does when it opens in Asia, Jumanji might be full of surprise yet.

The last Dwayne Johnson vehicle was a critical and financial disappointment. Before release no one thought Jumanji could hit $300 million domestic and now it might reach $350 million. And it did so only a week separated from a mainline Star Wars film. This is a big deal.

>Soulless blockbuster comedy with infamously popular cast rakes it in at the box office because of foreign retard markets
It's like none of you faggots know what the outside world is like

fuck shes hot , tall women are sexy as fuck man

The one thing I think Episode 9 could do, and so far no one’s mocked me for it on Sup Forums so it can’t be a totally bad concept would be to have the story be a Macbeth style tragedy with Kylo Ren.

I don’t know what the fuck you would do with the other leads besides Rey but have it be about Kylo being tortured by the ghosts of his past.

At the end Rey kills him but it really needs to be Adam Driver’s movie. Because Rey has nowhere else to go.

>soulless

Looks like somebody didn't get #litty and give it a chance

My family saw it twice. It was honestly worth seeing TWICE just to see the framing device again, Jack Black's performance, and a thrilling adventure.

I want to see more movies like this. High adventure! Jungles! Snakes! A cheesy but really creepy villain! I damn near heard the Indiana Jones theme blaring for most of the film.

I'm glad it's doing so well.

M'lady
>*nods respectably in your direction*

wew, it's probably going to make $600 million domestic but it's going to be close, and it won't make much more than that.

ummmm.... yes sweetie

>mfw the Rock saved movies

Tried to ruin his career with "Tooth Fairy" he came back and ruined there market shares with "Jumanji"

I wonder how much he spends on cocaine and steroids every month

Jumanji is a FAMILY FUN comedy that isnt meant for the CRITICS. Its for LIT fans with PISS in their pants. The critics just dont get it because it wasnt made for them or their PISS

GETTIN #LITTY IN YOUR TOWN

The best screen obligation for The Last Jedi ends in a few days. Afterwards theaters will be dedicating those screens to Jumanji and Insidious. The Last Jedi is going to drop HARD without that deal to keep it afloat. Meanwhile, Jumanji could potentially hit $900 million by end of the January thanks to a competition-less month. Allegedly early China estimates are favorable. Counter-programming might get within only a few hundred million dollars of what was supposed to be the biggest film of the year.

please fuck off back to letterboxd

I want to see it again, but I feel it won't live up to my first viewing. Not because the movie is bad, or I already know what will happen, but that watching it in a packed theater made the experience that much better. Jumanji really was litty

>Amerimutts the Racemixed are primary audience of Soy Wars
Really lubricates my cogs

but what if the mouseniggers do some mean bully shit like "keep showing TLJ or else you won't get any disney shir EVER"

Now i dont know Jumanji director but that movie had some good Indiana Jones vibes in the town.
I would actually like to see an Indy movie done by same director.

I know. I'm still fucking baffled. It's ... just fucking good. It's a solid adventure film, but no one's pigeonholed into being "the bad guy" in the group, I never had to "just shut my brain off and let it happen, ha ha, syahhhh." It was just fucking HIGH ADVENTURE.

God damn, I want more.

2 out of 3 ain't bad. The Vietnam fucking shit was a waste of space.

Saw this last night, was actually surprised it was good. Anyone else?

>Han survived the fall and became a cyborg
They did it with Maul.

> best screen obligation
Fuck me, did they really string out some theaters for four solid weeks on "the good screens"? And 65% of the ticket price? Christ, Disney laid it on thick.

It's almost like they knew it would be a piece of shit ahead of time.

Plan to see Jumanji with my dad tommorow

What size drink you want bro?

>post yfw it passes a billion

Yes. That actually happened. And Jumanji was generating more money per theater with less screens in no time. Without the deal Jumanji would have flown ahead of TLJ a long time ago. Theaters have been losing money on empty showings of TLJ.

How does it hold up to the original movie?

It does its own thing and never does it use any references to the original like Jurassic World did and it doesn't try to be a cash grab.

It's pure unadulterated originality.

It's very fun.

>Tripfag

>never does it use any references to the original like Jurassic World did
There are minor things like seeing where Robin Williams character lived in the world of Jumanji and the board changing into a console at the beginning.

>tall
Nigga where are you from? Women in my country start at 6', men at 6'2" on average. Sure there are some shorter ones, but you should come visit.

>There are minor things like seeing where Robin Williams character lived in the world of Jumanji
That's showing us something the original movie didn't so doesn't count. And only 2 references in the entire thing doesn't mean it tries to be over the top nostalgic at all.

Trump/Rock 2020

>when you realize the rock works so hard to make tremendously worthwhile and successful films is because he's got this to feed

It picks up directly at the ending of the first movie, and it contains one reference in the second half of the story (but the reference is well done and could just be considered lore to one who hadn't watched the original).

I thought it was much better than the original movie. The film makes heavy use of cliche and convention but it is all strung together skillfully. It feels something like the adventure movies that were popular in the early 2000's, but the presence of a lot of quality (raunchy) humor keeps the film from feeling like a children's movie and gives it a palatable modern edge. The director was GREAT at telling his jokes with the camera and the cast (Jack Black especially) emoted fantastically for great comedic effect.

The setpieces range from decent to great. None are particularly ambitious, but they do get creative, and they truly get the best usage they can out of the film being set inside a video game.

Overall it's a very enjoyable film. It's above everything else competently made and acted, and it feels modern without shitting on the past. It's nearly perfect counterprogramming to The Last Jedi and it's easy to see why it's doing so well.

Empty showings on their big screens must have the managers going fucking nuts when they only sell so many Jumanji tickets.

Jumanji is literally turning into a massive hit because Rians a hack and episode VIII was so bad

Star Wars since Episode I has been a "see it now so you don't get spoiled" affair. There's no legs or repeat views for TLJ for how big of a film it is.

>Mads Mikkelson without a hair piece and with a tan

How does he do it? How does he run two such different but equally successful acting careers?

he really is the modern schwarz

makes me go watch movies i would never watch otherwise

>has refined features
>gets compared to a pure nord
Why do you do this?

Eh, home office might care, middle management doesn't always have a solid finger in the pie to care with.

You do know the Rock is part of the MCU, right?

Just scrap the new sequals and have T:e rock star as a jedi

DIET

He literally looks like Madds there and no he's not a pure nord lol. Where did you get that from?

Jumanji is a such a mediocre film. Typical Sony movie. It’s the sort of movie that attracts nitwits who yell at the screen. When I saw it in the theaters morons were yelling out obvious stuff like “oooh dey got three lives!” I’m not sure most people will care about it unless they like video games. It’s also about 30 minutes longer than it needs to be.

Will the theater chains allow Disney to fuck them over with Solo? They don't even need Solo, those weeks are full of other tentpoles, unless Disney withholds Marvel from them too.

He'll yeah!

Was it pisskino?

I’ve noticed that Jumanji’s daily totals are dropping by over one millions dollars a day.

Is there any hope that it will break one billion dollars now?

Is this the birth of littykino?

Guess you don't like LITTY and FUN movies

And most of it is her delicious leeeeeeeegs.

>It’s the sort of movie that attracts nitwits who yell at the screen. When I saw it in the theaters morons were yelling out obvious stuff like “oooh dey got three lives!”

Not everybody is an Amerinigger

That's not a bad idea user. They will probably heavily feature Kylo anyway because he seems to be the only new character that people actually like.

Yeah but this movie attracts morons world wide because that’s kind of movie it is, and morons are it’s target audience

bumping my question

S E E T H I N G

t. Sony shill.

No they didn't. Your Sunday Special cartoon doesn't count.

Literally never seen anybody in my country yell stuff out during a movie

Pisskino too

I chaperoned my little brother and his friends to TLJ and it was nearly empty. I remember when buying the tickets the front desk was getting calls asking about Jumanji and the seats were all sold out. The guys started talking about moving it to another screen even if it would only to be them a dozen more seats
