Yea some risks pan out. Some fucking don't bud. A movie doesn't have merit because of the risk. The result is all that matters. A talking racoon could have been fucking awful. But they handled it correctly. Having a chrome bitch show up a second time was not handled correctly. jedi was bad. Not awful but not good. You dont even have to see the first 6 to come to that conclusion.

I'm not a SWfag so don't give a shit about the franchise. No part of the film was compelling to me. I thought that Kylo/Ren telepathy was not good. I thought the pacing was a bit off. It dragged a bit. The acting wasn't good. Some of the deaths and not-deaths were lame.
But for all that, it wasn't terrible and it looked and sounded beautiful enough to merit a solid 6-7/10.
