What are some TRULY EPIC movies?
What are some TRULY EPIC movies?
I thought pic related was a pretty epic film, and as for TRULY EPIC films just try some Biblical Epics, they seem to do it for me.
When was the last time we had an actually good historical epic? It's been a fucking while.
The Last Samurai
>Ben Hur
Meme movie. The Ten Commandments are way better in every possible aspect.
Meme post.
The directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven
Prince of Egypt
Blade Runner 2049
How is it different from theater's cut?
>Ben-Hur
>Ten Commandments
>Planet of the Apes
>Touch of Evil
Charlton was kino incarnate.
It bothers me that epic fantasy as a genre is virtually nonexistent these days.
Its like 40 min longer, it adds and fleshes out some plotlines. It really elevates the movie.
Sybilla's character makes sense.
Spartacus
The Man who would be King
Red Cliff
Nausicaa
Ran
Lawrence of Arabia
how can one movie be so flawed, and yet so kino?
i watched ben-hur on christmas eve again and didn't blink once, i love the movie, truly one of the BIGGEST movies ever made
yeah, it's a LOT better. the theatrical cut is a clusterfuck
i honestly thought exodus with christian bale was alright
Barevheart
Gone With the Wind
Gladiator
Lord of the Rings
Godfather
Red Cliff is fucking great
for anyone that hasn't seen it, it's almost 5 hours of high budget Dynasty Warriors with sick armouring, physical effects and competent direction (John Woo- hard boiled, face off)
Ran
Watching it gives me chills everytime, everything is real, not a single frame is CG and kurosawa storyboarded every frame even though he was going blind
