No0t falling for it Disney, normies still love it
I've always liked it
It was always good desu
In 6 months Sup Forums will be pro Last Jedi because it makes autistic Star Wars fans so buttblasted.
oi its a focking masterpiece m98
I haven't seen it yet but good to know, it was good, I liked it
>Not being contrarian to the 90% paid (((SCORE)))
Entry level Sup Forums poster, you don't like movies, you just say normies dislike it for the wrong reason, or if you're liberal, that Russia hacked the scores.

This is the most damage controlled Star Wars movie I've seen since any of the Prequels. The Disney shills are in desperation mode, and it's hilarious what lengths they'll go to. I haven't seen this much shilling since Hillary's failed campaign.
No amount of self-reassurance will EVER "fix" this movie. It was a complete abomination, and the defenders know that deep down in their hearts.
Disney's nuWars was made to pander to SJWs, and it is this very pandering that will ultimately destroy the franchise at some point in the near future. Deal with it.
typical plebs from reddit don't understand true kino
last jedi was the best star wars film since empire strikes back
this but unironically
...
This but ironically
I hated the Last Jedi before it was cool.
We have always liked it, it's on our top 10 of the year and isn't on reddit's.
Reddit = Force Awakens, Rogue One
Sup Forums = Prequels and Last Jedi.
the only people that dislike this movie are idiots that voted for Drumpf and Russian bots. Me and my boyfriend have already seen it 7 times
This is really poorly drawn, but don't stop trying.
Wasn't that part where Holdo told Poe off really coo-
I can't fucking do it fuck this fucking movie.
>be me
>come out of the cinema having just seen TLJ
>"damn that was great" I think to myself
>go online
>everyone is butthurt about it
>EHHHHHH!!?!?? NANI!??!?
the fuck is everyone's problem?
I can see your mouse ears behind the pic faggot
Fucking masterpeace.
Rian will always be hatef for taking sw in a bold new direction.
rey and kylo scenes were pretty good
To Reddit's credit their poll is better designed than a one vote system. You get to see what people felt about all the movies not just what a bunch of people thought was their favourite.
I'm always conflicted about this, because if Sup Forums likes it now, then I have to hate it, even though that means i'm agreeing with the majority of the audience. I can't decide if I like it or not.
WTF I love feminism now!
Rian is the new tv god, taking the mantle from Snyder.
It was always really good, fuck the contrarians on Sup Forums. Who was your guys' favorite character? For me it was Holdo, too bad she had to die I would have liked to see more of her. The way she died though was so badass
Can't wait for JJ to fuck up SW again after /our guy/ Rian Johnson lead it back in the right direction.
what is it referencing?
>agreeing with the critics
nope.
Whilst Force Awakens admittedly felt a lot like a re-make, I think The Last Jedi, whilst having elements of Empire Strike Back & Return of the Jedi, also adds new elements that take the series in a different direction and hopefully means anything could happen in Episode IX. Hopefully it/they cannot be lazy and follow the plot of episode 6. Last Jedi is emotional and far superior to Force Awakens and rightfully a candidate for the best in the saga (although Empire still holds that place of best for me personally). Although there are still some unanswered questions, or some not totally satisfying or to everyone's liking, there is still the next film so we shouldn't expect everything to be wrapped up here. If Force Awakens was much like a tribute to Han, it can be said that Last Jedi is a fantastic tribute to Luke and contains some of that characters best moments from the series. It also serves as a fitting tribute to Leia/Carrie Fisher.
The Thing.
Love this pasta
>everything can be shit as long as the plot surprises me
...
I love how it subverted my expectations.
Now I shit in my fridge.
if i one day woke up with a turd on my kitchen, i wouldn't be mad, only surprised
But the movie is still shit
The problem is that almost everything that made Star Wars Star Wars is gone and the only things that remain are lightsabers, the force, the Millennium Falcon, and Chewie.
WHAT HAS THE ALT RIGHT DONE
We have to MOBILIZE against them friends!
>We have always liked it
OH NO NO NO WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE EOUUUHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
...
wtf i love tlj now
Sup Forums is not a contrarian board you stupid newfag.
So are the prequels but Sup Forums loves to pretend enjoying them
Now this is contrarian
I don't think so chump, there are exceptional moments when that doesn't work. The dislike for TLJ is warranted and understandable across the board.
But the contrarian meme is pure mental gymnastics made up by shills to explain away the fact that we hate the objectively awful capeshit/star shit Disney buys reviews for. There are like three actual contrarians in this board, and we've liked plenty of critically acclaimed movies like Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk or Lady Bird to name a few recent ones
Look at the normie. Back to plebbit with you.
Isn't this the board that watched Dunston Checks In and The Pest?
Those are memes you dip
So, irony and contrarianism, yes?
No, only irony
You need to be 18 to post on Sup Forums.
the prequel trilogy took the original 3 part story and successfully turned it into a complete 6 part story broken up into two acts.
all while being a prequel(which is infinitely more difficult to pull off than a sequel)
the sequel trilogy? it feels like a fanfic, an inconsequential background story in the SW universe. there is no continuation or alternative points of view for past events being revealed. there is no connection the main story arcs from the OT and PT. TFU and TLJ are devoid of all the major star wars themes and mythos.
once the third film of the sequel trilogy is out the complete lack of any overarching major plot points between all three trilogies will become a lot more apparent to everyone.
when people realize we have a trilogy of trilogies, where the first two parts form a complete, self contained story, and the third part is LOLRANDOM fan fic.
A deconstructionist masterpiece, took apart the core concepts of Star Wars and provided intricate critique on morality, religion and the human nature of which we all share and this KINO gave us a glimpse of a deeper understanding to uplift us all.
A gift for everyone, Rian Johnson deserves a statue in the centre of the Milky Way as this film will provide the insight for all humanity to desire a piece of the stars.
It literally deconstructed the Star Wars universe to such an extent that it made itself non-existent. The movie had 14 year old level philosophy, it was deconstructed with the level of insight and intelligence of a toddler.
This movie tried and the failed to be 'post-modern' because it doesn't understand post-modernism. If the director had understood post-modernism he would have realized that such a philosophy didn't really work with Star Wars. That or he'd have played Kotor 2 since that was the most post-modern story in Star Wars.
It really isn't that bad. Everyone's just jumping on the hate bandwagon.
Star Wars isn't just a thing for socially alienated white men/boys anymore. It's grown beyond that little niche, and it also needs to lose the baggage associated with whiteness/maleness to reach a larger audience and have more influence.
Lots of the lessons and teachings embodied by Luke Skywalker are white, masculine and western in character. They've been done to death. The monomyth, Joseph Campbellian structure is dated and stale, and it can't keep running on those fumes forever.
I sympathize with lots of the grumbling white male neckbeards are doing. Star Wars was their thing and they don't want to share their beloved toys. And they're obviously gonna hate The Last Jedi because, in essence, it's about how Luke's legend really was flawed and limited in its scope.
The Jedi philosophy, just like the phallocentric white male western patriarchy, was bogged down in its own dogma. There's something beautiful and touching about the sentiment of "passing the torch" in TLJ. The white western male, long held as the only source of heroism and power in the canon, gracefully steps aside not only for his own good, but for the good of the universe.
In more diverse and progressive hands, there's no telling what this universe, and the force along with it, might become. It's an exciting prospect, to say the least, for those who aren't embittered neckbeards living in their parents' basements.
TLJ is going to be a watershed moment in sci-fi and genre films generally. It's all about letting go, letting your creation grow beyond you. And Star Wars, like civilization itself, has evolved beyond its parochial and patriarchal past.
This but post-ironically.
Based pastaposter.

>Even Lucas said so!
>of who baits whom
Its "whomst've baited whomst". Fucking brainlet.
no bait, the movie was good. different guy btw. not a mouse shill either. AMA gentlesirs!
nice try
I jut posted this in another thread, fuck it, I don't feel like rewriting the whole thing:
>the movie isn't actually a deconstruction. Those elements are only present to raise the stakes and ultimately reinforce its connections to the OT, mainly by having its characters choose hope and accept that the past is valuable and worth learning from.
>That being said, yes, it seems like most people really didn't understand that (on both sides, given that even people who unironically praise the movie seem to miss this, too; I guess throwing in some misdirection was too much for most people who weren't expecting it), but it's a direction that makes perfect sense. If you want a movie to be about hope, the message is much stronger if things are fucked and people actually need hope. If you want to make a follow-up to a series, it's easier to go the TFA route and do a complete rehash, but it's much better to acknowledge that the series is great while trying to move forward with the same themes and story in a new way. TLJ was pretty much the perfect way to make a new Star Wars movie, and it's disappointing to me that so many people are getting hung little things, or not paying enough attention, to realize. Watching it was the first time since watching the OT was a little kid that I actually felt like I was watching a real Star Wars movie.
Where are you copying these reviews from user-kun?
I always liked the new star wars, old EU was shit haha
But not for long
I like the Sequel Trilogy
I like the idea of yearly spinoff films
I like Rey and Kylo
I like the New Canon and the way its organized
Fight me. I haven't liked Star Wars this much since the 90s. All you underage babies have no idea what it was like to experience the prequels first hand.
>"Mouse shill!"
idgaf. Anyone who thinks Episode 8 is worse than any of the prequels needs to get some taste
Rogue One and TFA were fucking garbage.
TLJ was kino.

So much depth it makes Dune look like Family Guy.

That isn't passing the torch; it's dunking it in the fucking mud.
The torch IS male, it IS western. Anything else sends the flame guttering and dying.
I like it before it was popular.
Get out underage b&
