Honestly doesn't look that bad. Pinhead and the Cenobites will be introduced in the Ash vs Evil Dead season 3 finale.

Hellraiser 10 Trailer
I'm more angry at the guy directing it because he basically recycled his failed kickstarter premise
kickstarter.com
Well, it looks like they are at least trying to bring the gore back, instead of the twisty thinking-man's-Hellraiser crap that plagued most of the STV sequels. Nu-Pinhead also seems like an improvement over Revelations Pinhead.
Still will probably be crap though.
Well it's in the tradition of the other sequels then
>artist perseveres through failure and adversity until he is finally able to realize a version of his artistic vision
>artist doesn't just give up the first time like you want
The only cuck here is you, cuckboi.
I've only seen the first one, are any sequels worth checking out?
The director has admitted this film is being made to keep the rights and this sequel has been derived of a script he had (not intended to be a Hellraiser sequel). With that said he is a guy who does genuinely care about the series and genuinely believes he was able to produce a decent Hellraiser sequel out of it.
If anything the idea of the Cenobites clashing against another faction of demons is excellent and is exactly the kind of concept this series should try exploring. Really interested in that guy with the diamond mesh carved into his face.
5 is ok. Rest is trash
Did I miss the box?
It looks like they did the best they could but it really looks like Cenobites took over an old tenement building.
The first sequel is fine. The rest are trash.
Hellraiser V is the worst movie I've ever seen, and that includes B movies I watched ironically
Looks like they put some actual effort into it for once. I'm shocked
>not liking 2
Pinhead is really not supposed to be the villain of the series and that's part of why they keep fucking it up.
In the first two movies he is just a guy doing his job and it's other characters that sparks the conflict, but later they try to revision him into the Freddy Krueger of the franchise and it just doesn't work. Then they back pedal on that, they don't include compelling characters, nothing that happens in the later movies matters and they eventually end up with an abortion of a franchise. The problem also lies in that the studios treat it like a slasher franchise, but it's at its heart really closer to a gothic horror story, but with demons. Frank in the first movie is basically a vampire.
I'll still watch it because I read some interviews with the guy and I got the vibe that he genuinely cares though
2 is pretty good, their vision of hell is neat
I saw this on my feed earlier and thought it was some fan made thing.
>from the depths of hell
oh come on now
at least they didn't include that retarded edgy asymmetrical pinhead redesign
and the 'fat guy in a babby mask' is probably the laziest design ever
also Heather Langenkamp in the credits
2 is kino and follows on with 1's characters. It expands on the lore greatly, giving us more insight to this crazy world. You have to prepare for a huge change in tone. 2 is very campy and goofy, featuring a wisecracking Cenobite who keeps spouting obvious one liners every time he wants to slice someone up. It's schlock but incredibly entertaining and still delivers on great additions to the lore.
3 devolves Pinhead and co. into typical slasher villains, the last third of the movie is literally Pinhead and co. walking through the city streets wreaking havoc. Terrible movie but satisfies the primitive part of my brain who wants to see what kind of damage the Cenobites could cause if they were let loose in an urban environment. If that interests you check it out.
4 has ambition, telling a story that takes place across three vastly different time periods. But it's a fucking mess because the producers raped it during production. As a result the plot is nonsensical and you cant make head or tail of what the fuck is going on, although you catch brief teases of interesting ideas which aren't fully fleshed out or even brought into fruition because of the producers fucking with the production. A mess of a movie, perhaps worth watching if you're intrigued by movies with troubled productions.
5 being good is the shittiest Sup Forums meme of all time. 6 is the exact same movie with the exact same twist. 5 - 8 are scripts they shoehorned Pinhead into the endings of so they could call them Hellraiser sequels. None of them are entertainingly bad like 3, they're just boring shit. 9 was made in a hurry to maintain the rights, is basically the same as 1 but without any of the talent.
tl;dr
Watch 2, maybe 3 and 4.
At first I was like "fuck that" but then I saw it starred Heather Langenkamp so I guess I have to see it.
>Pinhead is really not supposed to be the villain of the series and that's part of why they keep fucking it up.
Are you implying he's the villain in this one? We don't even know what role the Cenobites have. The only thing I can tell is another faction of demons are murdering people, the police are investigating and the Cenobites will somehow end up clashing with the demons.
>Pinhead and the Cenobites will be introduced in the Ash vs Evil Dead season 3 finale.
It has some dead weight and goofy parts, but 2 is worth the price of admission/at least one lifetime screening for pic related. The filmmakers had the decency to front-load their money shot within the first half hour.
Kino if true
low budget movies shot on video will never not feel like fan films to me
Would Sup Forums like to hear my autistic theory about the final shot of the original film?
Pic related is not the final shot, but has the same composition (the puzzle duder sits down with a new customer, same place).
shilling this trash, shame on you.
Yeah, that's why I hate a lot of low budget movies nowadays, they look like something a few friends threw together over a weekend.
Well, shoot.
Looks really boring, but better than the last one.
Go ahead
>all these fucking nobodies
it's going to be typical low budget straight to dvd/blu-ray/some random digital service type of garbage
i have this overwhelming urge to rewatch picrelated
i agree, such a big turnoff everytime.
What happened to the really fat one in the first 2 movies
He was my favorite
t. literally the director of this shitpile
Surely Tom Cruise would agree to do Hellraiser 10.
pinhead.... easy on the torture
>not called HELLRAISER X
About halfway through the original film, Kirsty is confined to a hospital room. There, she meets a minor doctor character, played by Raul Newney (pic related). This doctor character /had the box in his possession/ for a brief time, before giving it back to Kirsty. Just long enough to get curious about it. Fascinated, even.
In the film's final shot, the new customer is more shrouded in shadow than Frank was, has short, curly hair and a rather large, non-aqualine nose. My theory is this: the doctor is the new customer (having become obsessed with the box), and Newney is the extra playing him in the shot.
If you read things this way, the doctor becoming obsessed with the box is also a nice foreshadowing of the next flick.
Ive only seen the first one but its the point of Hellraiser is that these guys are the ultimate pleasure seekers and the reason they do this crazy torture stuff is to make them feel a pleasure they thought was unimaginable?
You're not far off (you've basically got it), also watching the other flicks won't "expand" meaningfully on the basic idea so you aren't missing much there.
People who seek out the box (whether they get turned into cenobites or are just tortured bitchbois like Frank) are dissipated, bored hedonist-types who are looking for the next high, the next big kick. Pleasure only goes so far, so the only other "thrill", taken to a perverse conclusion, is cosmic Lovecraftian BDSM gore shit. A very, very small part of the victims even kinda likes it, or are driven mad by it (again, Lovecraft)-but not nearly enough to dull the pain of living it.
The sweet sweet suffering.
>that scene in hellraiser 8 or 9 with the wire twins threesome where they stuck their lizard tongues down the guys throat and rubbed his nipples under the skin
fapped to that scene a little too many times lads
go back to r*ddit
What are those movies even fucking about anymore? And is Event Horizon part of this universe?
best headcanon right there
>Pinhead and the Cenobites will be introduced in the Ash vs Evil Dead season 3 finale.[\spoiler]
Doesn't matter cause it won't be getting another season.
That's not autistic that's just putting two and two and making four.
Dr. Channard killed the whole gang off at the end of 2, but Pinhead's evil side returned in 3
>no Doug
>no Clive
>no budget
how about no
looks like a mr meaty prop
The second one is a direct sequel written by the same guy that made the first one, and it was pretty good. 3rd and 4th had no involvement from the creator and they steadily got bad. After that it went direct to video. With those the production company would just buy a generic horror script, shoehorn some Hellraiser stuff into it and call it a day. Compared to all those direct-to-video ones this doesn't look half bad.
Hopefully for 11 and maybe 12, they will end it with the death of Pinhead.
>Opening sequence with some magicians getting slaughtered.
>Surviving one being a lapdog.
>Harry, the gay guys, the cutie and the blind nigger.
>Hell scene with the desert, crazy deformed people and church.
>Lucifer against Pinhead.
I always feel that poor 4 gets shit on only because “MUH Speece Mahrines”. The first part centered around the French Revolution in my opinion perfectly captures that gothic feel Barker was going for.
Looks as terrible as I thought it would be. Shame.
Looks like theres about 2 places that the whole movie is gonna be set in.
Which Hellraisers should I watch?
way too many females in that trailer. im out.
>Hellraiser 10
They've had 9 fucking Hellraiser movies?
What I'd like to see:
FEMALE PINHEAD
Might as well go with the book description of an androgynous female pinhead.
Especially in 2018 that we're having more female leads and shit, female pinhead would ACTUALLY BE A GOOD FUCKING THING AND WOULD MAKE MY BONER RAGE.
GOD DAMN
thats was in in 5 (hellraiser inferno)
pinhead does get killed at the end of 4 in the far future
youtube.com
Female pinhead would be rad as fuck.
anyone remember this never made hellraiser film?
youtube.com
isn't that kristy?
in the comics she and pinhead trade places, he gets to be human again. she becomes a cenobite, female pinhead
Looks low-budget as fuck
>what on earth is this place
>it isn't
Literally everybody involved with this movie should go straight to prison for shitting on the original IP. This is just another millenial torture porn movie with centobytes. Fuck you hollywood.
it fuckin looks like it. filmed on JVC camera looking thing.
disyney-tier
it's a galaxy far far away
looks way way too cheap
5 is so underappreciated.
Eat shit retard.
>hellraiser
>event horizon
>40k
>all in the same universe
interdasting
Trailer gives the impression most of the film will be taking place inside a room in a torture shack. Not looking good.
>Pinhead Goes To New York
We late 80s, early 90s now.
1 & 2, maybe 3, Bloodline because it's bonkers, Inferno because it's quite unsettling and a decent self-contained cenobite story, Hellseeker only if you want to see the prime mommy-fu Kirsty has become.
Hellword and Revelations are absolute filth, Deaders is just meh.
...
We don't speak of that book.
Rumors are that Barker didn't even write it, just signed off a ghost written book and cashed the cheque. Dude's half dead from aids now anyway.
It was a fucking dreadful book, jesus christ.
he had a stroke, that's why he didn't actually write it.
and yes, terrible, terrible book.
Haven't read it, but that's disappointing. Kinda sad, even.
Books of Blood was one of the books that got me into horror. To this day "in the hills, the cities" is one of my all-time favourites.
Fuc i love that, genuinely more disturbing than that standard flames and brimstone shit
>10
Wait, they may more past 3?
