>le rapey look lad
no, unacceptable
Baka...... Well maybe. It makes sense but just look at this guy
Why did he appear as his younger self but not Obi Wan or Yoda? Why would they not come back as their peak appearances?
...
Because when they showed old anakin everyone was like who the fuck is that guy
He came back as his Jedi self; He wasn't a Jedi while he was Darth Vadar. Yoda and Obi Wan were
Yoda and Obi wan weren't jedis during the prequel era?
>Why would they not come back as their peak appearances?
But Obi-Wan came back as Alec Guinness.
Alex Guinness was a jerk and didn't deserve it, not after what he said about the original film
This moment could have really worked well if they'd shot material specifically for it, rather than just using a random costume test shot
No.
If you think about it, Anakin probably never saw himself as Sebastian Shaw. To him, that's just how he looks.
What about Temuera Morrison redubbing Boba's lines? I reckon it at least makes sense
You don't come back from your prime state, just from when you died
When their Jedi life ended
Why does he look so young? Isn't that Darth Vader?
Or, if Anakin died when Darth Vader came to be, why did Vader save Luke in ep. 6?
THEN WHY DOES ANAKIN LOOK LIKE HIS YOUNGER SELF
>ROTJ
>prequel edit
Because Anakin died that day and Vader was born
but Anakin came back in order to be good again
goddamn fucking kill yourself, brainlet
One of the many good things in the proto episode 7 was Anakin ghost depicted as a tormented creepy shadow that torments Kylo.
I really wanted to see it. "Proto episode 7" was full of nice idea.
>Why did he appear as his younger self
George was planning ahead to bring his ghost back in the sequels.
Hershlag was stupidly hot in this
are you mentally slow
why didnt they add good guy sheev?
You don't understand Star Wars.
Anakin came back to the light.
That wasn't the prequel, its was in the OT
And no it wasn't. There was no reason for Anakin to show up a young man. And Luke probably wouldn't have know who the fuck it was.
>b-but he appeared as he did before he went to the dark side
Why would that matter? Regardless, he went back to the light just before he died anyway.
Only kids in the 2000s who grew up with the Clone Wars.
>why would that matter
Because you're arguing semantics and this is the entire crux of the argument
It was the worst edit. Would have been fine if they just had old Anakin fade into young Anakin
...
It really does look odd having him there.
You're right. He should be next to Ewan McGregor and Miss Piggy.
I only wish they had aged Hayden up, so it's still recognizably him, but older.
No, the Sheev edit in ESB is the only acceptable one.
Instead of the actor who actually played old Anakin?
>being a newfag in life
There's an actual theory about this.
Anakin and Vader are two completely different entities of the force
>When a Sith dies, and he is of great power his power remains in our world like an echo, it may display subconscious thinking but it's not a real entity more so it's the remnants of that part of the force still living on (also canon Yoda talks to a Sith (ghost) at one point)
>Anakin came back to the light when Vader died, and because he met with the wills early on in life, he like the few jedi who got that chance learned the knowledge of becoming force ghosts(canon)
So take this theory that Vader, and Anakin aren't the same entity but rather two separate entities that exhibit complete parallels of the force. Kylo may keep Vaders helmet because it echos power from the past.
someone shoop out the jewish hag to the right plz
Because they were going to see Luke.
>Obi-Wan presents himself as Old Ben, a person Luke knew well
>Yoda presents himself as the crazy old muppet Luke trained under
>Anakin decides that the murderous cyborg look might not suit the occasion, so he goes with his appearance as a Jedi knight
When you're powerful enough to become a Force ghost you can look however the hell you want.
yeah it looks odd having the actor they hired to play anakin stand in as anakin.
Young Obi was a failure
And Luke is like "uh, who is that?"
>Who the fuck was that guy we literally just saw be revealed as Vader?
>I totally recognize this guy that wasn't cannon until 25 years from now though!
Or maybe force ghosts is a retarded concept to begin with and should have never been a thing in the first place
...
This is only a good idea if you believe that vader isn't redeemed at the end. Otherwise it's just redundant.
It's actually one of the worst changes, because it basically shits all over the main theme of ROTJ. The only people who think this change makes sense are people who were too young to remember a time before the prequels existed and only care about the superficial aspect of Anakin looking like the person they know.
Fuck you man I still have the original Anakin action figure.
NOW THIS IS FORCE GHOSTING
Lets just take a breath and realize that The Last Jedi has worse rating on Imdb than ROTS, movie in which 'I have the higher ground' was said, as well as 'only Sith deals in absolutes, I will do what I must'
+1
Can someone explain this one to me? I've never understood it
>When you're powerful enough to become a Force ghost you can look however the hell you want.
So Leia is going to look like her 20 year old self when she appears to her son? It feels a bit weird.
Glad we agree
Force-ghosting is something you learn, it doesn't just happen.
So obviously it could easily happen, who gives a shit about the canon, it doesn't fucking matter
It was a stupid scene beforehand that was made stupidly complicated by the edit. It was a damned if you do damned if you don’t thing. Pottery.
I think that with all the shit that the new trilogy is getting George Lucas must be very happy because now the prequel trilogy is looked better.
REEEEEEEEEEEE WHY IS HE WEARING TATOOINE ROBES LIKE OBI WAN
No it doesn’t you underage piece of shit
He was from Tatooine, Obi-wan even mentions that in the first movie.
I doubt anyone here is old enough to remember this, but before TPM was released, Luke's outfit in ROTJ was supposed to be the Jedi uniform. It was described that was in the novelization and in other kinds of merchandising.
>This was the only acceptable prequel edit
are you fucking stupid? no it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Why would he appear as anakin when luke doesn't even know wtf he looked like? And before you give me the stupid bullshit like:
>that was the last time he was good before he turned bad
nigga the whole point was that he did the right thing in the end and redeemed himself. All of george's edits were fucking terrible and made no sense. People loved the OT and that is why it was a big success not because george tinkered and raped it whenever he felt like it
If you were an artist who went blind at the age of 20 and then you were asked to sketch yourself once you hit 50, what do you think you'd draw?
>was only 57 years old
JUST
that implies darth wasn't aware of his actions at all throughout 3 films. dumb analogy brother
you know considering he was cut in half and set on fire he doesnt actually look that bad
>Eyebrows
Did Lucas described he was burned already in the OT.
you should know that Lucas is a lying hack that makes up shit as he goes
empire has good "burned and sliced apart by former friend" medical coverage
that didn't happen in real life you fucking idiot
...
The only acceptable edit is correcting the emperor's appearance in ESB.
Why is he so chubby?
They really should have had a more intimidating actor for Vader.
>When filming in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Mcgregor kept imitating the noise of the lightsaber during his fights. George Lucas explained many times that this would be added in by the special effects people later on. Ewan said "I keep getting carried away."
>Following the climatic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jim against Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, McGregor spiraled into a deep state of mourning over the death of his co-star Liam Neeson. George Lucas explained many times that Neeson was in fact alive and his demisse was entirely fictional, but McGregor was unconvinced, spending many days locked in his trailer. When Lucas called for Neeson to visit him in order to prove he was alive, McGregor chased after him with a prop lightsaber. Onlookers claimed McGregor claimed he needed to exorcise the Sith ghosts that were surely possessing Neeson's corpse.
>While shooting the space flight scenes for the start of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, McGregor continually held his breath in the cockpit of his Jedi Starfighter. Lucas explained many times thhat they were not really in space, but McGregor was concerned that the spacecraft was not airtight. "I can see little gaps all around the canopy," he is reported as saying. "Anakin and I could die up there."
>After filming the climactic duel scene for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, McGregor was apparently inconsolable regarding the fate of co-star Hayden Christensen. George Lucas explained many times that the latter's injuries were actually extremely sophisticated make-up, but McGregor was convinced he had seriously hurt him. "Anakin was such a promising young actor," he later sobbed to a reporter, "and I burned his face ... I burned it to a crisp!"
this should have remained
Shaw looks precisely as fatherly Anakin should
George went senile lets face it.
No, the removal of Vader's eyebrows was though.
Because Anakin died in RotS. The scene where he's crying on Mustafar is the exact moment. From then on it's Vader. Sith cannot become force ghosts. When he sees the error of his ways and redeems himself he's still tainted and takes on the form of the last point in time when he was still pure.
No, this is.
There are no acceptable edits.
There are no acceptable prequels.
There are no acceptable sequels.
There is only the accidental masterpiece from 1977, and a sea of shitty fanfic.
>>When filming in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), Mcgregor kept imitating the noise of the lightsaber during his fights. George Lucas explained many times that this would be added in by the special effects people later on. Ewan said "I keep getting carried away."
I think Alan Rickman said in an interview that he once did that during a sword fight in some movie and had to be reminded not to by the directed.
Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.
cute
...
Young anakin for this scene is completely. gay. Sebastian Shaw is the only way. Luke recognises this man, Luke would be like... Who the fuck is this Rocker dude with long hair?
Everything is stupid.
The prequel trilogy is a masterpiece compared to Nu-Wars. RO is fine tho.
ewok celebration was better than yub nub
sounds like a cool dude
Someone should edit Vader with his helmet on in this scene
>Sith cannot become force ghosts
Yes they can, or at least they could, back when the ROTJ edit was made. Only when Disney took over and baleeted the EU was force ghosting established as a Jedi-exclusive thing.
Isn't The Clone Wars still canon? Doesn't Yoda talk to Bane's ghost in TCW?
They should just digitally remove Anakin because why did he even become a force ghost to begin with.
idk about that, the Canon article on "Force spirit" says
>The knowledge was open only to those who followed the light side,[1] so the only known individuals with the ability to manifest after death were Jedi
