What are some other movies like this one? Be they connected by art style or general feel or setting, I'd love any suggestions. I saw The Secret of Kells and am looking forward to watching The Breadwinner.
Song of the Sea

Studio Ghibli movies perhaps. I saw some reviews a time ago where they were pointing out the influence.
Any ones in particular? I'm not particularly drawn to them, idk why to be honest.
Sup Forums pls
His other movie, the secret of kells
Marcel Jonkovics movies

Kells is excellent
>the secret of kells
This. If you liked Song of the Sea, you'll LOVE Secret of the Kells. It's better in every possible way. If you didn't like Song of the Sea, you'll probably still like Secret of the Kells.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned this yet, really charming movie
I watched the Secret of Kells and thought it was amazing.
Where can I find Marcell Jankovics' work?
Out of those 5 you posted, I am only partially drawn to the last two.
I loved this, just watched it recently.

Link to trailer.
Check out Ernest and Celestine.

Spirited Away is the best Ghibli entry point imo
Holy shit this looks awesome.
I saw this

in the youtube recommendation box and looks dope too.
Ernest et Celestine had some wonderful shots.
Yeah, it's a gorgeous film.

alright then
You're probably just looking for movies but this is one of my favorite animated shorts, and the art direction is probably right up your alley. YT translation is serviceable but I'm not even sure it's available anywhere else.
what about

Waiting for dees

Everyone swears by Spirited Away, and yes it is that good but due to overhype you'll probably be unimpressed the first time you see it, but it's still definitely worth a watch
This guy has it right though, Song of the Sea is definitely on the same level as Ghibli
Brave has a similar setting, but the plot is lacking desu
Secret of Kells is beautiful but because it has an abstract story it's not as accessible as song of the sea
Tbqh senpai I sincerely believe song of the sea is the best animated film out there so its hard to find movies to compare to it
I'd check out the Wakfu tv show if you want a simple and fun narrative with a deep and rich universe (or the silly prequel spin off, dofus) it's a french cartoon and its wonderful
If you want honey nut feelios check out Mary and Max, if ya want a beautiful animated film check out the french film L'Illusioniste
Absolutely gorgeous.

Summer wars is pretty dope too, doubly so if you grew up with Digimon.

I spent my whole life thinking it was read as "gib-li" and then he says "jibb-ly"...
I thought this was pretty shit. Fairly interesting but then around halfway through the movie became really boring and a sci fi action flick.
>tfw when the original pirated version I got before the American release had the English dub with French music
Perfection
I always found this type of animation creepy, like it's staring into my soul and wants to pull me down into an abyss of endless horrors.
The last unicorn.
Lol no, SoS is superior movie.

My negro, I see you're a man of taste as well. I love Arthur Rankin's art style.
My negro, I see you're a man of taste as well. I love Lester Abrams's art style.
nice, I hope you like this then
If each of us gets his own personal hell, this would be mine.
Hedgehog in the Fog (1975)
Tale of Tales (1979)
For Jankovics you can find Son of the White Mare(Fehiforia or something) and his shorts on YouTube.
The Tragedy of Man is beautiful but also pretty sad but that you'll either have to buy or torrent but there's probably some random streaming
Lasie
I'll fucking fight you
he's right tho
Wasn't this originally a Sesame Street short?
kino
I loved both of them, but SoS is simply better movie. It uses the mythology in more broader way, better characters, plot isn't snoozefest, more varied environments, and WAY more climatic ending.
The Triplets of Belleville
The Thief and the Cobbler (You have to find the version without a Voice over though)
Summer Wars is fucking hilarious. Great film, but by the end of it I was just laughing my head off at how intense everything was.
Also I'm sure its been mentioned already, but The Little Prince was charming as hell. Worth a watch.
Bakshi-kino.
>Wizards
>Fire and Ice
>Fritz the Cat
>The Hobbit
I could never handle the choppy timing of the movements and the dialogue in Bakshi's work
